Ye but you aren't paying for some generic world of warcraft statue from Etsy, these guys literally made Lord of the Rings, buying one of their pieces isn't just paying the artisans for hours of meticulous work but buying a limited piece of the films themselves. I agree some are very pricy but that is my issue for not managing my money better or for buying other stuff. You gotta factor in your own choices at some point and blame yourself for not being able to afford something you want. You don't go to a car dealership and tell them that a Ferrari should be lower in price because back in the 80s they were cheaper. Besides all of that though, as i said, these people literally made Lord of the Rings, without Weta that world would never have existed. So see it as the chance to purchase something unique and of a top tier. Otherwise if it was cheap and anyone could buy it there would be no magic in the purchase, see it as a right of passage, you are paying the extra for the privilege to own something by these titans. If you want tacky crap cheap, buy Funko pop Lord of the Rings like the other 5 million mass produced factory line crap.

Probably in the 1k range. Prices can't stay the same forever though, inflation affects everything. They have to pay creators, factories, shipping... To be fair, Weta's prices have been staying way more reasonable than some other companies'

@@Cowpitulate thanks for economics lesson. I wasn’t busting on weta at all. I was simply lamenting how far prices have come up on these pieces. Nothing more. Time to get back to saving for that Ferrari I guess.
