@@shawnross2186 Familiar with both and because of the concert for Freddie, at one time I would have gone for Elton and George but a few years after it aired I finally got my hands on this awesome soundtrack and there is just something of an inward pouring of emotion on Roger's version, that is (for a very good reason) an outward display of emotions on the E and G version. Roger's for me resonates more as finding strength as you struggle through life song. The E and G version is an ode to a life sadly passed. While I'm still alive it's Roger's battle cry I need. Both good versions

I grew up in the 80's and it was far better than you could ever imagine. I'm not just saying that because I'm an old nostalgic dreamer; I really anticipated something better and was looking forward to it, but we all know how that turned out. I don't mind sharing my youth with you young folks that were robbed. plenty to go around and then some.

The ending portion of this song and that guitar. I miss music and movies being made the way they did in the 80s. Good storytelling, as well as those guitar riffs, sound so good and emotional that you are put into a mental sense of nirvana.

I sometimes play the outro at sound-check, it's so simple, and yet such a cool riff. The version that we hear in the recording is actually an isolation track of the riff that has been heard throughout the whole song.

Maybe that's what it was. Mental nirvana. All I know was I was a child the last time a movie made me feel like that (somewhere around 2003 or 2004) and as a kid, I sadly lacked the vocabulary to describe the feeling despite being pretty smart. I was born in 1992 so until 2003 or so, I assumed all movies would give me that feeling all my life. When it suddenly stopped, I was bewildered and confused for a while.

I was born exactly three months after this movie's release. It's been one of my favorites since the Winter of 2006 when I first watched it. I've watched it about 30 times since and now again just recently; as I ordered it online, the VHS English & VHS in French. This song, this movie, the 80's generation is what I'm all about. The time when I myself spawned into existence. Simply breathless, just wow. I love all of you, and sooner or later, some sooner than later, you will all understand what life is all about. Audio extracts like this stimulates your inner truth, salvages you, and sends you to the answers you've seeked until now. Bless yourself.

I once saw Jason Patric at some Poke bowl restaurant in West L.A. He ordered some rice. I so wanted to walk up to him and say "They're maggots, Michael." But I'm sure he gets that all the time and/or would have punched me in the face.

I was 1st introduced to The Lost Boys around age 10. My big brother brought home a VCR tape that contained The Lost Boys & Return Of The Living Dead. Since then I've always kept a copy of both movies. I have the blu rays and the cds. "I'd love to watch this movie at a Drive Inn on a nice cool, summer night. Sleep All Day, Party All Night, Damn It Feels Good To Be A Vampire!

Whilst I agree that this is by far the best version, I think the backing vocals do not get enough credit !

I recently played the outro of this version at sound-check, and my lead singer came up to me and asked is that "Eyes Without a Face", by Billy Idol/Steve Stevens, and I replied, "No, It' Reb Beach's outro to, Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me" at the end of the Lost Boys movie.. He walked away... This is the shit.

One of my favourite songs, and this version is the greatest. The Lost Boys, massive part of my childhood, watching it (far too young) in 1988 with my big cousin babysitting us, coupled with my first "Pot Noodle". Real nostalgia. Love it ❤️
