I just think the '80s was a magical decade. In terms of movies and music, the '80s reigns supreme. There's a reason why we are seeing television shows like Stranger Things becoming so popular. It was truly a decade of uncertainty and optimism and I wish we can recreate that feeling again in modern times.

Having been born in the last 5 days of 1970 afforded me the perfect growing up time periods of junior high and high school enjoying my teen years with such a great youth decade full of blockbuster high school flicks and music. Today, as a middle aged man, I began showing this film during my high school students' 45 minute lunch period. At first they were like, "Sir, play something modern, nothing old... ". 20 minutes into the film and they're all glued to the projector screen pleading if we can finish the last 30 minutes tomorrow. Little do they know that I'm helping to set up enjoyment of their high school years with music and film that made high school fun. Next up, of course during the recess time of lunch period, are 80s Halloween classic flicks such as Salem's Lot and Fright Night. Happy Halloween everybody!! And yes, I wish everyone would've had the opportunity to grow up during the 80s!
