Oh man! This takes me back! My family would go to Silver Dollar City every year when I was a kid! The Flooded Mine and Fire In The Hole were a dream come true for a 10 year old back in the 70's! The Flooded Mine hasn't changed that much, except for arming the passengers.

The Tourist Trap I remember this ride as a kid when it was silver dollar city. The difference between these two, the prisoners on the ride had a cheesy effect where there were movie projections on the heads. They would look at you, cross there eyes, sing and talk. It was real creepy but fun! Daredevil Falls now sits in its place at Dollywood.

I remember riding this when I was just little at Dollywood. All I remember is absolutely terrified screaming coming from me.... Freaked me the hell out. As did Blazing Fury. All these years later, though, I'd love to see Fire In The Mountain... *sigh*.

Cool. Thanks for the awesome childhood memories. My parents took me there in 1970. Still have my old brochures, post cards, view-masters and map. Not much has changed. The Flooded Mine and Grandpa's Mansion looks the same. Just don't remember being able to shoot at stuff back then. Oh, when Silver Dollar City bought the old Rebel R.R. it was called Goldrush Junction. Rebel R.R 1961-1970, Goldrush Junction 1970-1977, Silver Dollar City 1977-1986 then Dolly teamed up with them and name was changed to Dollywood.

My brother helped build the time traveler. And the boat ride where you can squirt eachother with guns, at the front of the enterance on the boat it says "ricky phalen" on it in black. My father passed away and its a tribute to him because he built rides there for years. Cool little fun fact

Quick secret for a high score on that ride. Get a seat to yourself so that you have 2 guns. Aim one gun at the score display of the other. It will register a hit. Just sit there and fire away while enjoying the scenery. Your friends(if you have any)will freak out that you get such a high score.

Everyone forgets The Witch’s Tour which was the third major ride at Silver Dollar City, also a boat ride, but mostly outdoors, and an invisible witch kept trying to kill those on the boat but failed. Most of the ride is still there with The American Plunge built on top of it and partially within it. I’d love to see a ride through film, but don’t expect those were a thing in the 1970s.

when I read " lost dark ride " I was so scared you meant the ride had been taken down, because I rode this in 2013 in Branson and loved it. But to correct you, I'm pretty sure this ride was at Branson first because this was the first Silver Dollar City park, there was also a Silver Dollar City park that was bought out by Dollywood and they took that ride down, but they didn't move it here, it was always here. I could be wrong.

Adventures by George it is an awesome ride! The best part of it, is the smell of creosote from the dock pilings. It really adds to the sense of being in a flooded mine. I first rode this ride, in 1973,and I would love to ride it, a thousand times, more! Sarsaparilla in glass tankards, at the Saloon show... More fun and more outlaw varmints' killed! LOL!

Adventures by George , If Woody's empty holster on 'Toy Story' is any indicator; probably won't happen. You should check out Knott's Berry Farm; guns everywhere. From toy guns in the gift shops, to guns in the stunt show, to historical guns in the museum and even a shooting gallery. There also a knife and gun store. The place is great; not only do they have cool attractions, but you can also learn a lot about history. One cool example of both is a roller coaster called tbe 'Pony Express' that has a display at the entrance that gives a brief history of the Pony Express and displays the route; very informative. Also, it may look like a kiddie ride, but it packs some... HORSES; pun fully intended. Oh, and there is one interactive shoot 'em up ride called 'Iron Reef' with an underwater steampunk theme.

I know you and Adam love Dollywood but i'm pretty sure that Silver Dollar City was in business decades before Dollywood existed. I used to visit there in the late 60's and all of the rides you've shown were already in existence. Dollywood opened much later. Any copying was done by Dollywood not the other way around. Check the opening dates of each amusement park. the original is always the best.
