Excellent, well done! The measurement units were interesting, too. Chief Marin is probably haunting some of those buildings over him.

Great research and content. Visited all 21 CA Missions by 4th grade in the mid-60s. Working my way through them again. Love your videos for broader context and what was then

Thank you for this. It was very informative. My parents had property just above Mission Ave and we always wondered if it was part of the Mission property. Still not sure. Thank you for doing this research and providing it to us.

Hi Mark, it's great to hear you liked it! You might be interested in some of the references that I used in making the video, including this master's thesis by DeBaker which is about where the mission grounds used to be: scholarworks.calstate.edu/concern/theses/g732d9659

Wonderfully informative. I grew up in the beautiful county of Marin, most of my years in the towns of Bolinas and San Rafael.

Great video - it's needed to be done for awhile. I like that you discussed the marshlands and the closest thing to the original waterfront. I appreciate your highlighting of the native peoples and Chief Marin. It would be fantastic if you did not gloss over the "unarmed Californios" and referred to them by name - Jose de los Reyes Berreyessa and the De Haro twins (Francisco & Ramon) - as their identities are significant to the escalation of the BFR, and other events in California history.

Thanks for the feedback. You're right - I should have added more context to the murder of Francisco and Ramon de Haro and José de los Reyes Berreyesa. I'm considering doing a video on the Bear Flag Revolt and think that would be a good opportunity to discuss the complexities and injustices of the revolt
