The people who did those heinous things were tried and found guilty whereas the murderers of Till never received the punishment they damn well deserved because the system back then didn’t seem to care about justice for black people.

As brutal and inhumane as Emmett's murder was, he is far from the thousands of black men, women and children who were brutally murdered and we NEVER heard about it!! White people in Money, Mississippi and the surrounding area, joked that the Tallahatchie river was "full" of black bodies!! Emmett's mother was incredibly brave to demand that his body be brought back to Chicago and his casket be open!! The majority of black people who lost loved ones to lynchings and murders quietly buried their dead and didn't talk about it. Even though Emmett's case was nationally reported on, his family said they almost never talked about it. One of Emmett's cousins who was with him in bed when he was kidnapped, said that he didn't even tell his wife for like 8 years that he was cousins with Emmett. Willie Reed, the young man who heard Emmett's screaming said he didn't tell his wife about it for several years!! That was the only way these people could deal was by not talking about it. I'm sure all of them suffered from PTSD

Willie Reed, the young man who testified that he heard Emmett's screams, had a nervous breakdown not long after the 1955 trial! He said that he could hear Emmett crying and screaming, "help me, Lord have mercy" and "mama".Some of Emmett's injuries were a broken leg, both of his wrists were broken, one of his ears was cut off, an eye was gouged out and he had numerous skull fractures. That poor baby died an agonizing death!!

Emmett Till did not die in vain. Since this heinous crime was committed four months before Rosa Parks' act of defiance, Till's murder may be considered the first event that galvanized the Civil Rights Movement in the United States. Unfortunately, sometimes it takes a tragedy to get people to rise up and demand that things change.

Don’t worry! These horrible people may have not served justice for what they did to Emmett here on Earth. But, they got served when they stood before God. Murdering a child in the way Emmett was murdered isn’t something God overlooks. No way! The woman who lied about Emmett didn’t escape judgement either. I believe these three cretins are burning in hell and rightfully so. Emmett was tortured most likely for hours. I don’t think he was dead when they threw him into the river. It’s one of the reasoned they tied a fan to his neck. They didn’t want him to scream or be seen. That, and weighing him down would mean he wouldn’t be found. These people are not anywhere near Emmett in Heaven.

My grandfather born in 1900 in a farm house in Idaho traveled to Louisiana to visit his brother in the 1930's. It was the first time he traveled outside his state, let alone his hometown. Once he got into the South he said things changed. Blacks sat at the back of the bus, whites in the front. He never heard of segregation. He had never seen a black person in his life until he got into the Southern region of the United States. When they got into Louisiana the bus picked up new passengers, and let old ones off at the one of many bus stops in towns and cities back then. An older black men got onto the bus, but there were no empty available seats. My grandpa had a seat all to himself, so he stood up and offered the black man a seat, and a white man behind him stood up, tapped him on the shoulder, and said, "We don't do that down here."

What is really sad is that America needed a "law" to ban lynching, America needed a law in order for ppl to treat others with basic human dignity and respect. That is a sad testament of a nation who claims to be the land of the free and home of the brave. I will always remember the name of Emmet Till, a 14 year old young man torn away from life by hate, violence and ignorance. Emmett was deprived of life at 14, he would never know the joys of life, love, children of his own, the joys of being a property owner, a husband, he would never have a career all because of hate, fear and stupidity. Certain people in this country claim CRT is somehow racist, all I have to say to that is #ConstantlyRemindedofTill This country needs to come to terms with itself and it's history. The internet is here and history cannot be buried by some political personalities who wish it to be unseen because it hurts their entitled little feelings. It should hurt. I am certain what Emmett suffered hurt far worse.

I often call his name. A horrific injustice against a child. My heart is with his Mom and Dad.

Tills killers did not live a good life. They both loll were divorced from their wives, they had to change their names and leave Mississippi. One of them went blind and another got cancer. Carolyn died from cancer and live in absurdity. Where ever these killers went, they could never reveal who they were.

I cried throughout this documentary everything about this injustice is a horrific senseless crime .💔 When my mother heard the news about Emmitt Till she was crying for three days on and off throughout the day. I asked her why is she was crying??.. she said a young black man was beaten so bad he was unrecognizable two white men killed him because he whistled at a white woman, so then I asked her is it against the law to whistle??? She said no the two men racist against black people..😢 I asked her can I see his face in the casket?? See looked dead at me and said remember when you came to America and the kids in your classroom was bulling you beating you because you couldn't speak English and they hated you because your hair was very long and curly. She said the two white men were racist and hated black people because of the color of our skin...😢

SMH my heart aches I recently begin teaching my daughter who is 5 about him. My son is 10 and when He first learned about this story he was about 7 or 8 and he was so down for a few days. One thing is for certain this wicked lady will reap what she has sown. The nerve of her thinking he was actually whistling at her. She was 26 but I’m sorry she looked 40 🫤

That's so good. I taught my kids this story at the ages almost the same 5 and 8, this story was why my Mother and her siblings were put on a train out of Mississippi and brought to Oklahoma, so I have always been interested to keep learning more and more about it myself.

Incorrect. She did Not know about Emmett's speech impairment. You can't be serious about "turning her in if she were your wife"! It was HER husband who murdered Emmett!
