I am a field security technician and the tool is ideal for what I need especially due to much of my use of it is for outdoor use with limited electricity, gets hot quick and does a good job.

We need those angles for special operation.

I have one and I'm a auto mechanic and find that the swivel comes in very handy for some jobs,does a great job soldering,and is very handy for quick jobs ,I love mine.

NOTE: After a lot of research on the M12 solder iron, buyer beware: Anything over 3ah CP batteries and ~10 min of run time will start to deteriorate and melt the housing cap of the solder wand. There are literally hundreds of 1 star reviews claiming this issue, rendering this device useless after only a few months of use. That said, I am still buying one, but limiting my usage to ~10 min on before cooldown and only using compact batteries. One guy I found did this consistently and was able to put hundreds of hours of use on this device over the course of several years. God bless!

I just bought one. Used it day before yesterday. Had to solder a wire for a connector on a Jeep. It was great that I didn't have to find an extension cord or try and use a butane style torch. You are right. It is a little awkward at first, but its benefits far outweighed its awkwardness. Score 1 for Milwaukee!!

I really like mine, using the xc battery is sorta like using a third hand, I can tin the tip, tilt the head and use the iron in a stationary position

The lowest rated mikwaukee 12v tool should be the angle die grinder...has no cutting power...that being said, it works great as a surface prep tool..much like the 12v ratchet, i believe milwaukee misnames things...the "ratchet" should more properly be called a fastner runner as it delivers very little break away or fastening torque...still a very handy tool though.

I think this fella may be little mixed up…..
