*As of Feb 21, 2021 Joy Chapman from Surrey, British Columbia, Canada has broken the record for lowest note sung by a woman. Her lowest note is C#1 (34.21hz).

Problem with Roger is his voice is zero percent vocal singing ability and all fry. If you listen to his record you will hear him clear his throat numerous in a coughing manner. This helps lower the fry note. Full voice you would never do this to achieve a lower note. Tim Storms on the other hand is 100% full voice. He has spoke before about an ears nose and throat doctor wanting to take a look at his vocal cords following an Acappella concert in the 90s. They discovered they were 3 times the length of normal. Unlike so many bass singers today you never hear Tim utilize fry or subharmonics. I use to do fry all the time when I was younger. I reached 3hz doing that. Some can do it lower than others but its got no musical properties. As I have got older I have got away from that. I would rather "sing" a full voice F1 than fry a F-1. I can promise all of you that Roger can't sing that low full voice. Listen to him talk, that is what happens when you kill your vocal cords frying all the time. If you are gonna fry do it very sparingly. Don't wreck your voice.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Storms latest video interview around Feb 26, reveals him dropping his mask several times. Take an honest look (and listen) at what we do see and hear as well as what's missing. The conversation is lengthy and Tim clears his throat constantly especially before speaking, explaining it away as asthma. "Yes" and "um" are dispersed plentifully, both are single syllable and easy to drag out. Much easier to get the pitch rolling as opposed to true spontaneous speech. His voice is tweaked with heavy amounts of eq and enough reverb to the point of noticeable echo. Listen to the difference when he backs off the mic. Storms own statement "...I'm not a profundo..." should be the final word. Instead he goes on to say that he projects in a different manner than a profundo. You either project or you don't. Go to the oktavism channel and listen to other voices minus the enhancement. In Storms case the enhancement is a necessity. Yeah I watched the whole thing even when Tim mentions negative views about him and I'll say this. I have no argument if someone likes the guy, start talking world record and he really needs to come clean.

Audacity says that the lowest note ever recorded is *G-6 (0.189 Hz)* The octave had to be reduced by 1.

Shame most of the male ones would sound pretty bad, bar Zlatopolsky and perhaps JD. Nothing that low really sounds musical, or even “good” really. Zlatopolsky is the most impressive by far though

Matthew Dockray Well it is not about sounding good or bad as they purely focus on how low they can go... All of them have impressive voices and they are (were) making the most of it.

The woman sang that Bb1 . Though it was strong you can hear the light tone in her voice. You'll never hear a Bb1 with that much power and that light of a tone.

Reuben Thomas It’s interesting to see how different male and female low voices are. These women should also try another record, namely “the widest vocal note range”.

@@iwatank0107 She has a surprisingly light higher register. A true contralto profondo. She would definitely have the largest useable vocal range. Some like a Zlatopolsky would be exactly an octave lower. Though he had a strong C1, he could sing F4 with decent comfort . However the G1-C1 isnt as useful as the higher register Mariyana has.

It almost sounds like an A1 rather than a Bb1 If it were converted to male statistics it would've been an A0 or Bb0

@@Mysterious_Vocalist Oh, it's the same with me, but I am a dramatic baritone hah My voice gets really low when I overuse it the day before. In my case I am able to go at least to G1 then. When my voice is normal, then it's usually E2/F2 but with proper relaxation I can do a slide to G#1/A1. Interesting to see, that even a high tenor can go quite low in specific situations hah

Well it’s all about vocal cords not gender I believe

@@iwatank0107 yeah, but normally their vocal cords don't thicken as much as mens. Also, I myself have a fairly low voice, so a woman being able to sing even lower is quite a funny experience.
