I know it crazy, I think because in studio once you make it it's official. and during live you get the option to change some things up a little

I think because it's mroe free and flowing. often times sections of a song are recut over and over and moved and go through countless takes. When they perform live, it's just a free wagon rolling down the street. One shot to make it feel great and free. There's room for mistakes without long term consiquenses. AND they are a great band that has done countless shows. That's my opinion anyways.

This is my study concert! I have listened to this countless times!

I would give credit to the KEXP sound engineers for that. These sets sound consistently good despite youtube's terrible compression.

@@chrisjovanovic2321 We had a blast for the most part, however and unfortunately the first half of the show was gawd awful and she hated it. I didn't hate it but it was definitely not what I expected as they didn't perform that type of music. The second half of the was "excellent" and what I had expected. Not the best show I've been to, the Eagles "Hell Freezes Over" concert is still the best show we both have ever seen. A close second would be Neil Young. On a side note: the opening act by Daniel Rodriquez was excellent...I've heard some great opening acts but this was probably the best one yet.

My husband played classical piano. (Not professionally, but expertly, lol.) When I was pregnant, I would stand with my belly touching the side of the piano. We knew my daughter could not only hear his music, but also feel the vibrations. Pretty cool.

Yeppers. Hearing them live tops listening to them via the studio. I feel that way about most music, but it real stands out in this video. It isn't overproduced, you can hear the instruments better and differently (same with backup singers), and you can actually see the artists emotion coming through. You'll never get that or the since of "I am watching history" from a studio album.

Hi Kari Kuo. t's better to say "as distinct from their studio versions", rather than "as opposed to", because you aren't talking about total opposites, just variations.

If you ever get to see them live, if concerts are ever a possibility soon, I highly recommend. A talent live and recorded but somehow sound better in person, beautiful music from a beautiful band.

Me to I'm 62.. never heard of them until about 2 or 3 yrs ago.. my son told me they have been around for a long time!!! I know everyone in my house is about to pull their hair out.. they like them to but I play their songs over and over.. natural high!

You can thank not hearing of this band to radio consolidation. I was fortunate to live in the Gulf South and listening to a station out of Mobile when Ho Hey came out. 58 here and I have been singing their praises for 10 years now.

I was just wondering.. because it's always struck me as strange that Wesley sings Cleopatra ... and the way Neyla looks when she's singing it too... like maybe the plan was for her to sing it and someone ...? backed out. or they wouldn't let her. she's got a voice but except for rare backup singing.. they never let her use it. I lost interest in the band after she left. It seems like every song they have now has a woman's name. Like that's all they can think of to sing about. Have to wonder if she was a strong part of their creativity.

Yes a thousand times over. I was feeling that too when watching and listening to them lately. Even weirder, I can hear her well in this live performance, but the album stuff has her toned down even more....such a shame not to hear her and the cello as clearly as I'd like all the time.

Interesting you say this - her CUE> its the one reason this bands music is not something I feel to listen to as I feel that deep down there is something deeper going on that doesn't resonate with the one female in their band.And it is of no fault of hers.
