The Madman and the Cathedral is a documentary about one mans dream to build a cathedral.
In 1963, Don Justo Gallego Martinez laid the foundation stone of a cathedral. A peasant, with no architectural training, no construction experience and no tools, he turned his back on the fields and started building. He had no blueprints and no planning permission. He had not even seen many cathedrals. All he had was the unshakeable conviction that God wanted him to build a cathedral.

I was there yesterday and it's absolutely awesome. It touches. His chatedral transmits what a lot of churches with great budget and luxury would like to do. Humble, Hard-worker and tenacious, he's a example of fight and effort. My respects (and my little modest help to finish his work. At least a small group of people is helping him with their job, once he's already 89).

Es ist so anrührend zu sehen, was man mit einer Vision alles erreichen kann. Ich liebe Don Justo, bin nur traurig, dass ich mit der Parkinsonerkrankung und div. Arthrosen die Kathedrale nicht mehr besuchen kann, hoffentlich geht es weiter, wo er schon seit längerer Zeit tot ist. Ich drücke alle Daumen. Es grüsst Ilona Czech

If you don't agree with the mass you're out of the group. So typical of any religion. He had a dream he tried to fulfill. People are more comfortable when everyone fits into the circle but not everyone is round. Sometimes there's one very different soul with many facets and it's the odd man out. It was his money and he chose what he wanted to do with it. He followed his heart. Good for him.

Right. lets get 200, 000 viewings, then make this go viral. Gaudi's Sagrada Familia in Barcelona is just as intricate as this. Don Justo is a genius, lets see that we can give him the necessary support worldwide. Dammit people, what the heck is wrong with society these days. People are still coming from all over to work on the Sagrada Familia, and all this work of Don Justo , this will be left to disappear ??? Grow up, it's not about religion, it's about belief, it's about faith, it's about architectural genius!!! A true masterpiece. Come-on!!, a million hits for this hard working mans work!!! He just trust God alone but doesn't want people judge his work.. So pity people Judge him much.. GOD hears and sees who said bad and did bad ways to him.. His devotion to GOD was Great.. Amazing Man of Faith.. He will be remembered because His place he build for Praying to GOD.. What He said is True..

When he returned to the village he didn't talk to anyone. Then he decides to build a Cathedral so that people will gather and worship God. I think that this explains everything. Also, in this short version, there are some things that are missing, like, his relatives have sued his assistant for abducting him. Probably meaning that the assistant manipulates him somehow for some financial gain.

He's still alive. 95 years old. The cathedral is still not finished. He said he wants to be buried in it when he dies

The feat is remarkable for one man, but I have my concerns. I think Justo puts more emphasis on construction of a physical building, than sharing the love of Jesus Christ with the people that come to see him, as could be seen in his actions (i.e. yelling and chasing people out). This problem plagues Christianity systemically. I understand this man's sincerity though. Ask Jesus to reveal Himself to you, so you can know Him directly! Jesus calls us into a relationship, not a religion!

Nah, or you build or you talk, and his mission is building, for TV preachers there are already thousand protestant cults providing them... good point about the merchants in the temple. This man has it clear, and he‘s achieving something providential. No fake here.
