Hey there, I will be setting up a 600 litre reef tank (160 gallons US). So, I plan to use 2 boxes (160 pieces total) of Maxpect bio balls. Do you think that will be enough for a 160 gallon tank? Also instead of adding bacteria, I plan to put these bags of bio media into my cousin’s tank’s sump and keep it there for a month or two before I set up my tank. His tank is a few years old. So um that way I can get a variety of bacteria from his tank and also microorganisms like copepods and amphipods. What are the Chances I can get pests as well? Like bristle works, aptasia, etc. do you think they will be a problem in a sterile tank? Also how can I get all these bacteria to colonise my bio media and also the copepods to stay in it without getting any of the pests into my tank? Is that possible? Please let me know! Also is this a good idea? What do you think? Thank you in advance!

2bags media is good when you add a dead rock later For taking the media from an established tank is OK if you know that his tank is clean from unwanted bits, other wise go slowly better from having a problem later on And all benefotial bacteria and pods will gomeby its self when you have live corals

@@ReefAmorous well I am kind of confused with one thing, that is everyone says free on unwanted things. But like what? Aptasia, bristle worms and things like that? I am confused because these will eventually come into the tank anyways right? Then what is the point of trying to prevent them from coming into the tank? I hope you can clear this out for me. Like Aptasia Bad Nudibranch Parasites Bristle worm is ok

@@ReefAmorous so like will the aptasia be able to go into the display tank from the sump? Same with the nudibranchs. Also will the be able to survive without any good? Because I will add a pair of mollies to cycle the tank. And finally will the parasites survive with just mollies in there? Will the copepods survive the cycle?
