Is it a true Hamon? There is true ray skin beneath the tsuka-ito? Thank's.

Hello, Robin, thanks for your comment! it's pattern welded steel, so clay tempering to create the hamon is not considered during the design and making. also, to be honest, it's bare beneath the tsuka-ito, so no ray skin involved in the making. But, in the future, we are thinking using modern steel like T10 or 1095 with clay tempered and also, we will consider making one by using the ray skin to enhance the authenticity and durability.

@@Swordier thanks its nice to improve! Personaly i have a Ryan Sword naginata very heavy 2.5 kg! But bamboo! Its a great idea flexibilty and durability !

⁠⁠⁠@@Swordierif you are still planing on making some with a hamon I would like to suggest using a wootz steel for the reason that it has the closest grain structure I have found to traditional Tamahagane. The grain structure added by the vanadium in wootz steel looks quite beautiful and is a really good imitation of Tamahagane.

@@buny1p967 yes, you are right. we happened to have the wootz steel one, but still quite costly compare to T10 or 1095 high carbon steel.

question is general, you guys at china have a size limit for shipping? i find curious that all the manofactures of naginata replicas do the same handle length, i checked the paul chen, ryansword, swords of northshire, ryujin and now you guys seem to have the same length. basically the boken form of the naginata is around 200 cm or 80 inches, i also believe that was the complain of mattew jense and the correction he did to hanwei naginata.

this is one of the main reasons, the courier asked under 1.5m in length for the package, or else, we have to use sea shipping, which is long time delivery and bad experience.
