Golden age of cinema, looking back… they don’t make em like this anymore that’s for sure. 10/10 movie
@maskcollector69494 ай бұрын
There was a mini renaissance back then cause the independent market was doing well and up and coming filmmakers were getting nice deals and stuff. Now the market is sort of flooded and everybody is rehashing the same tropes. Hollywood is sugar crashing so I think indy filmmakers will rise again eventually. These things tend to happen in cycles. Disturbia was the tail end of that movement last time. Reminds me of Cabin Fever, I'd say that movie kicked off a lot of what I'm talking about but you could trace it back to Evil Dead or even Reservoir Dogs. I wouldn't say Disturbia is quite as iconic as those, but it did successfully blend genres. I think Cabin Fever had a lot of parallels, though, because there was definitely some comedy and romance in it. Disturbia gave the best feeling of having watched a movie for the first time aside from Kill Bill to me, though. The best blending of genres back then was probably Hot Fuzz - I don't think I've ever laughed harder while watching a movie.

You do realize it’s just a remake of a classic movie called rear window

I was in high school when this came out, and rented the film multiple times. I absolutely love this film. Just rewatched it recently on KZfaq and it holds up!

I take it you're 25 now or almost 25. My cousin, Joilene, was born in 99 and sadly just passed away two months ago. She was 8 years old when this movie was released.

The Casting of David Morse as Turner has GOT to be one of the best casting choices EVER. That dude was SO CREEPY it gives me the heebeejeebees. He’s SO convincing as a predator and killer that I dead as believe he’s a freaking murderer irl …like bruh.

The only reason I realized the mom was Carrie-Anne Moss was because of this Making Of. Holy shit that shocked me. I really associate her with Trinity. Never seen her as a hot mom.

David Morse by far the best performance
@maskcollector69494 ай бұрын
They needed to develop his character and have someone else who could have possibly been the killer, too, imo. It lacked some of the intellectually stimulating parts of Rear Window. Great actor, underdeveloped character, though.
@nobshistoryengineering44214 ай бұрын
Yes sure, the movie has a lot of holes in the plot, characters, etc... but Morse absolutely carries in terms of performance. Overall I gave the movie a 7 but if they ttightened up some of the issues it could've been higher.. I felt like the movie's end was pretty poor@@maskcollector6949

Do you know where the father and son go fishing at the opening of the story?
@lui_br398815 күн бұрын
Those fishing scenes were filmed in the winding Owens River, up at Benton Crossing, about 16 miles east/northeast of the town of Mammoth Lakes, and a good 250 miles north of Los Angeles

Would have been good if he turned his life around in a kind of way and make him a writer like his father was and told the whole story of the movie. And of course got the hot girl blah blah. Talking about the ending of course.
