I am heartbroken this audio series will not continue. This is was such a brilliant concept to revisit the characters we love. You can tell how much care and love went into this project. If Disney really is planning to do something, I hope they go with an animated series, so that these actors can keep breathing life into these beloved characters💖

I am TOTALLY on board with this except for one tiny thing: it's weird to hear Drusilla speak directly about anything. That whole "A stake through the arm? Is that the best you can do Slayer?" should be more like "Oi, a splinter. A splinter most foul. Foul and fair and fair and foul and most unfair this upstart fowl vying to play the rooster et al." Then she pulls the stake out and licks it or even bites into it and "Tastes like Tuesday. Was that her name?...No, that was when oi plucked her from the tree and ate the fruit 'anging on her branches. A vineyard ran through her arms, and the vintage still sweetens with toime."

This came out the day before I was driving to see my mom. It is a 3 hour trip either way. So, that sorted out my driving entertainment. Even though it wasn't our Cordelia, this was a much better ending for Charisma Carpenter than the injustice she got from Joss Whedon. I love that the three former scoobies that died in "our" universe were all alive in the other one. I really hope you all make another one.

I definitely feel it was justice for Cordelia. I thought producers of Angel made a mistake killing off such a popular character. Cordelia was the heart and soul of Angel. If the show had been renewed, it would of been easy too bring Cordy back. Suppose she acquired the ability to teleport from the powers that be. So she could of had someone call Angel, and she did a disappearing act. But i also feel another season should of delt with her redemption.

This looks so freakin kool. The Buffy verse lends itself to sooo much given what we know is possible just in passing canonically (shrimp/shrimp less au?) it’s just so exciting seeing it finally expressed outside of comics. I’m so happy to see amber involved so deeply and Clem came out of left field but in the best way. Cordy being the one to kick ass as a slayer is just gonna scratch that itch that slayerfest’98 first tickled in us.🥰💜💜

seeing, or hearing LOL dru being the big villain is that it's a totally new side to her, with it being an alternate world and such so we get to have an entirely different take on the character, she still has mad points but she's different and of course Charisma, she was screwed over in Angel thanks to a certain someone so to see her take on this new role it just makes her so iconic.

Thank you! It’s so hard to find Buffy fans who aren’t biased. I listened to the sample, thought it seemed a bit crap, but everyone was raving about it so I thought I would give it a chance….it is a bit crap. Don’t get me wrong, I loved the nostalgia, but the story was predictable, the characters didn’t seem authentic and the underlying message was this cookie cutter, good in all of us, blah, blah, blah. Don’t get me wrong, I listened to the whole thing, but considering I’ve seen every episode of Buffy in excess of 50 times (excluding some of season 4 and 5), I wouldn’t choose to listen to this again. It had so much potential and they could have done so much with it, but I feel they feel short.

Sarah has said she has a lot of love and respect for the character, but has kinda more or less said she's finished playing her. Anyway, the story was written in a way that, honestly, there's no real place for her. This wasn't a story about Buffy. It's just too bad it's not written by Buffy writers -- and it shows. Still waiting for a true Buffy sequel-series/years-later next-generation spinoff with classic characters as supporting and guest stars. Whedon and a new showrunner should do it together, and Whedon just agrees to only write, and never come to set -- so the actors will be willing to come back.

@@misslanapaulford And Superman/Batman was also about Lois Lane, Supergirl, Robin, Batgirl, and Alfred Pennyworth? Your logic comes from a place in which you liked other BtVS cast members (which is fine to an extent), more than the actual lead cast member, attached to the bonds/friendships that took place, and completely blind to the reality of the overall product. The story is said time and time again to be about Buffy's journey. Buffy did & didn't save the world on her own, she had a group, but she also had herself from start to finish. It's a complicated thing... It turns out Joss Whedon did not manage his bad days in such a way as to avoid making them other people's bad days. Everyone makes mistakes, of course, we're all human, but the mature thing to do, then, is to take a step back and recognize where one may have acted unfairly, apologize, and strive to do better. This appears to be something Joss Whedon is bad at. That has in turn led to some degree of bad blood between him and a few people who have worked for him, who were the targets of his unfair behavior, and it has overall damaged his reputation and, with it, his career. He could make some effort to reach out and repair things, but his ego seems to be in the way, as when he did speak about the situation, it was mostly to deflect the blame and minimalize his own faults. The longer he fails to address it in a mature manner, take responsibility and sincerely apologize, the less likely it is that people will forgive him. So there are reasons why Joss isn't involved, but yes, it's kind of weird that it's happening at all.
@Henrik_Holst
@Henrik_Holst 7 ай бұрын
@@Swenglish there is also the whole thing where workplaces (and in Hollywood in particular) allowing gifted people to be asshats so the normal societal rules that would quickly stop you and me from continuing on that path and instead beginning to contemplate our own behavior doesn't really kick in here until it is far too late.
@Swenglish
@Swenglish 7 ай бұрын
@@Henrik_Holst Yeah, there's definitely a cultural problem in the industry. In a lot of industries, really, and in just about any hierarchical system. In a hierarchical system, accountability exists mainly on a hierarchical basis. Joss Whedon would be accountable to people "above" him, but not to people "below" him, and so it seems that whenever he would get frustrated with the people "above" him for meddling with the creative process or screwing him over in some way, select individuals "below" him would suffer for it through his casually cruel remarks and threats to their careers or whatever. There's some unhealthy sense of validation in that. Schoolyard bullies do the same thing (often because they feel powerless in the hierarchy at home, so they create a secondary abusive hierarchy where they can be the one in power), and if nobody steps in and actually keeps an eye on them, they don't stop, and then they grow up to be just as bad as their parents or whatever, and it's like, at a certain point, one can't just keep blaming them for ones own cruelty. It's each individual's responsibility, no matter how traumatized and tortured, to grow the hell up and learn not to pay cruelty forward. That's not to say it's easy, but "hurt people hurt people" is an observation, not an excuse, and these hierarchies have a tendency to keep the chain of abuse going. It's kind of a fundamental problem with hierarchies in general, and the only way to insert more accountability is if a lot of people get together and collectively demand it, because there is power in numbers. But that too can be weaponized in unfair ways, and that's a whole other conversation. None of this is to say that the individual is not responsible for their own behavior.
