Here's an iceberg on the classic visual kei rock band Malice Mizer. Thank you all for watching and sorry for my shitty narration and mispronunciations, I don't feel very comfortable recording my voice but I'm trying.

Malice Mizer is definitely one of the most interesting bands ever in my opinion. Their theatrical performances are unmatched, i don’t think there will ever be another band like that, they were special!

The Gackt disrespecting Kami thing is highly controversial since the two were very good friends. There are (rare) clips of Gackt and Kami imitating one another and pictures of Gackt with Kami's parents. The two were fairly fond of each other. It's also funny that everyone hates Gackt because every vocalist pulled a Gackt in some shape or form throughout MM's career.

I don’t personally hate him but there is this one interview of him kinda being rude about malice mizer by the anime man he was saying how he doesn’t remember any of the members or how many there were and then he was talking about Kami’s passing and the interviewer laughed and said as to my knowledge, none of them are dead, and gackt never corrected him at all and they just laughed awkwardly I found that very hurtful

I’m also aware he’s not a serious person at all and he’s always joking and being sarcastic but idk it rubbed me the wrong way how he never said anything to the interviewer correcting him on Kami’s death and allowing him to laugh about it

@@Yuunjae I don't think he really meant ill of it, and I doubt Mana, Yu~Ki, or Kozi really cared either. He's spoken very fondly of Malice Mizer in the past but he was essentially trolling The Anime Man throughout the entire interview and just going with everything he was saying (even if it was false. This is actually somewhat common behavior in Japan AFAIK. There's a word for it to but I can't recall).

1) for the new fans, kami was never gay, even if he was, he would never say that publicly to cause a huge mess and drown malice mizer reputation; 2) mother of life does not ship overseas, stay thirsty; 3) gackt is not hated by everyone, more like "disliked" cuz he be weird af; 4) tetsu is active in music industry, mans still slayin; 5) kozi is not a creep, i promise, he was born this way; 6) mana is our god of everything and he cooks the best meals = malice mizer approved; 7) gackt showed kamis grave many time, he has no remorse whatsoever, but sakura posts it too; 8) illuminati is a underconcept for malice mizer concept "what is human", that pv shows human's desires and side effects; 9) klaha as rumores lives in US and still doesn't participate in presidental voting; 10) gackt was the one who left malice mizer because he wasn't feeling the vibe anymore live laugh love malice mizer

I'd bet my ass that the Klaha US rumor isn't true at all. If I recall correctly, it started on a Facebook page of a fake school. I think he's living a quiet life in Japan, probably has a wife and kids. I have social anxiety so I kinda relate to him lol

Nah, Kami's family and Kozi definitely hate Gackt. I dislike him, but it's less hate and more like watching a hilarious trainwreck.

This brings back so many memories. Kami was incredibly beautiful, his passing was a real shame. One intresting thing is that Beast of Blood was like a prototype of what Moi Dix Mois turned out to be

Also, 18:01 I remember someone translating some type of magazine which had an interview with Malice Mizer members. I remember one of the questions was asking if they had a fetish and I think one of the members saying "eyes"

I've liked their music for a while now, but I am not really the type to research band members on my own so I learned a lot! This is going to sound really dumb but I always assumed the band had a female member since Mana is often wearing a dress in the band's pictures. Thanks for the video :3

I was a big fan of them 16 years ago and then I carried on other interests, jsut got back into them and I realized how little I actually knew...because at the time there were no informative videos like yours! and no translated videos either ! (I don't speak japanese) I realized how since lockdowns there is a revival of MALICE MIZER interest, new contents (like Mana cooking on the MmM channel, which I never imagined would be possible at the time!) and I love it! there are so many infos about them everywhere, and on social networks too (there were barely a thing at the time I was a fan)! also bless Cantavanda for having uploaded HD videos of the band, which we barely had at the time ;w;

I’ve been trying to find more information and doing research on malice mizer and my friend has been helping me since there’s not a lot of stuff you can find on online but this video helped a lot and my friend recently bought a magazine featuring them and other old visual kei artist can’t wait to know more

I've started to cover Malice Mizer's songs in English on my channel. So far I've covered Au Revoir, Gekka No Yasokyoku, and Ma Cherie. I have a couple more of their songs on my list to do. Great video! I also became friends with Catanvanda because of his connections to the band and all their PV stuff. Maybe one day I'll make it into one of these videos as one of the contributers to the visual kei and malice mizer community.

The Gackt interview here he says he "mourns the passing" of the former band members was interesting. I may be stating the obvious but it sounded to me like he was praising them as artists but as people they're dead to him. I guess they haven't talked about it publicly but there must have been some kind of falling out behind the scenes that over 20 years later he still hasn't forgiven them. I'm happy that I still have the music on CD. Tetsu's songs are awesome and he doesn't get nearly enough credit. Memoire is a great record.

@@xen748 Yes. It comes from French "misère" (misery), which is why it's transliterated as ミゼル in katakana.
