Born and raised in New York City and when I first heard this on radio for me it captured the winter feeling perfectly. Still today listen to it and brings back memories, great haunting sound and song.

This song brings back such POIGNANT memories! Loved the style and harmony of "The Mamas and Papas"; never truly appreciated when they were in their prime (recording and performing). I was in junior high/early years of high school in latter 1960's. At the time, the older adult generations panned their music as Satanic garbage produced by a bunch of spaced-out dope heads, and claimed it would be soon forgotten. They were wrong, thank their lucky stars!

This is a solid mix but still find the midrange too "pronounced." I think most of their material was recorded & produced too much to suit AM radio in the 1960's, thus sounding muddy and un-natural in todays speaker/headphone era. I'd love to see the Mamas & Papas collection re-released as modern-sounding remixes much like the recent Beatles remixes.
