FILM DESCRIPTION:
Maureen Trant (Emily Warfield) and her younger sibling Dani (Reese Witherspoon) share a strong connection, but local boy Court Foster (Jason London) threatens to throw their bond off balance. Dani and Court meet first and have a flirtatious rapport -- but when he meets Maureen, he falls hard and they begin a passionate affair. The new couple try to keep their love hidden from Dani, but she soon learns the truth, disavowing her sister. But a heartbreaking accident later reunites the girls.

My first kiss was under a palmera, the second in a parking lot where i almost docked and since then i prefer to take care of the places where i kiss a girl for the first time. I like to be under the presence of a tree so that when i see that tree again i remember that special moment and smile. :)

Being that this was her first film and it receiving such strong critical reviews, I'm surprised that it still remains a mostly obscure movie that not a lot of people today have seen. But when I saw it back then it was not hard to tell that Reese was going to be a star. Pretty obvious. She was remarkable.

I think part of what helped her was she had a good director, Robert Mulligan, who also directed another movie about even younger children making it through a tough time, the classic; To Kill A Mockingbird. She had a great supporting cast of really good actors like Sam Waterston, Tess Harper, Gail Strickland, Jason London, and Emily Warfield, so while Reese did have the main role, she didn't have to try and carry the movie all by herself at such a young age.

This movie was definitely one of the top 10 movies of the 1990's. So much deep emotion, action, superb acting by the cast. I think I have watched it 7 or 8 times and never tire of it. It takes you back to an era when times were so simpler. Yet, we can all relate to growing up.

Or if court met Maureen first I know he hurt Dani and it was wrong of him to lead her on to be her Boyfriend but court and Maureen relationship felt more fitting because they are both around the same age both mature and unlike billy court wasn’t trying to get in her pants all the time he was patient and they’re relationship was developed. Don’t get me wrong him and Dani had good moments but I didn’t think she was mature enough for court I know I’m gonna get hate for this I’m just expressing my opinion

@@demierussimmons8235 that's true. He and Maureen were better. Even before he met Maureen, things between them still felt forced. Maureen did try to encourage Court to go after Dani, but he made it clear he wanted Maureen and she just couldn't resist anymore. I just wished she told Dani about it first.
