That poor frog woman. Stuck on a broken ship, unable to communicate with the passive-aggressive pilot and a CHILD EATING MONSTER trying to genocide the last of her species before they can even be born. While crazy-looking ice spiders try and eat her. This was a horror story.

I love Rebels and Clone Wars, but trying shame someone into watching either of those is really stupid. You don't encourage somebody to watch something by shaming them into it. Point out how awesome they are? Sure. But trying to shame someone into watching something, usually results in that someone telling you what to stick up certain parts of your anatomy.

It won't be. We've only ever heard his name mentioned once and it was by Moth Gideon through a radio in passing mention. The child probably doesn't remember or at the very least it's unlikely that will be the first word he says. It's more likely to be "Mando" in that case, and even then I kinda doubt it.

I like the episode... but I do feel attacked personally! Had to go small screen untill the x-wings showed up... Why not blood thirsty penguins! Or worms! or even some other bugs... these were too much of a spider to be considered anything but a spider!

I think only something can be filler if there's a source material. This show is like Star Trek: The Next Generation where the individual episodes are canon. Screw the nit picky haters.

@@chaost4544 Filler has absolutely nothing to do with source material or canon, that's a misuse of the term from the Anime world. Filler is an episode (in a serialized show with a long continuous story) that tells a self contained story that's unrelated to the main plot or does very little to advance it, regardless of source material or not. There's plenty of shows without source material that have filler episodes that focus on isolated self contained stories. In your Star Trek TNG example, that show is an episodic series, "mission of the week" type show, those shows really can't have "fillers" because almost every episode is a self contained story.

@@reno9821 I agree. I think people these days are too used to a continued plot in every episode of tv shows as opposed to being episodic like they used to be. So now it's always considered "filler" regardless of how the show is actually meant to be structured. This show isn't full of "filler" because the "filler" itself is literally how the show is supposed to be - it just happens to have a bit of plot going on as well because it gives the show an end goal. The episodes have a purpose in being that it's supposed to establish more of the lore of the Star Wars world as well as further the development of both Din and the child. You're supposed to just go with the flow in this show and enjoy the stories.

The 2 X-Wing pilots were played by the legend Dave Filoni himself, and Paul Sun-Hyung Lee, who is one of the leads in Kim's Convenience, a pretty popular Canadian sitcom. Edit: Also, Simu Liu, who plays his son in the show, is playing Shang Chi in the new Marvel movie Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings that's supposed to come out next year

Moff Gideon knows mando’s name because he participated in the great purge of mandalore. Mando’s name was in mandalorian records, which Gideon would’ve gotten access to.

those spiders are called Krykna and they are based on the drawings of Ralph McQuarrie and the first time they appeared was in Star Wars Rebels

Btw they call the style of film “real-time rendering”. It’s so cool, they are the first ones to use it and it’s something that George Lucas predicted back when they were making episode 4. He said that someday they will be able to shoot these movies in your garage. They explain most of that in the series.

They are definitely based on the same piece of unused concept art from Empire Strikes Back and these are in fact the third species to be created based on that concept art (the krykna of Atollon and the spice spiders of Taul).

All the story and action beats were good, but I was really uncomfortable with the way they played up the child eating the eggs as a joke. They made a big deal out of how important it was to Frog Lady that they make it to her husband. She treated them as though they were her own children, and then we're supposed to laugh at those children getting eaten? That's extremely dark.

I binged watched The Mandalorian all 3 seasons since Thursday. This episode the spiders in the lair in the snow, was terrifying, when I saw the small ones crawling I was freaking , out then the Mother a giant spider, I screamed and had to turn away from the tv. The LOTR: Return of the King had a giant spider chasing Frodo underground. This was on the big screen. This was a great episode. I loved it. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤

I've been thinking about how once Mando has 4 seasons complete, we will have more live action Star Wars from only this show than all of the 11 other live action SW films put together. That's fine with me. :)

Actually had a thought when you were discussing maybe the pilots discovered the crash site when Mando used the detonators. it definitely seemed to breach the top layer of ice

I am loving all the monster themes going on in this season...Keep em coming! Also Suraj, I literally said the same thing about last weeks ep..dont worry..Everyone acting like its blatantly obvious that was Boba Fett. The dude looked radically different from his appearance in the prequels from over a decade ago first of all, and not everyone has seen the Clone Wars, if thats the case of him being in those as well(I have yet to see that show and all its millions of episodes but some day)..Like sure I recognized him AFTER finding it out..but at the time watching it for the first time I was intrigued but had no clue. People gotta chill, we ALL love the same show/movies don't forget that people!

There was no Deus ex machina! When they were in the cockpit, fighting off the the spiders, all the gear blinking and beeping signaling the X-Wing detected them and called for them, it was only a matter of time until they arrived there

the glass has to be something stronger than glass, or it would blow out as soon as you got into space. there is a reason the windows on the space shuttles were tiny and thick. to keep the air pressure that is inside the shuttle from blowing the glass out.
