It's all the rage to be an Alpha Male these days, but what's the point of collecting artifacts of manhood if you aren't a good man? Why would you want to be a funhouse mirror version of a man?

From the other side: I was attracted to my husband because he treated those around him well, even people he was in a position of power over at his job. He wasn't a doormat: his no meant no, and he wasn't afraid to say no. But he was fair and consistent with everyone, followed through when he said "yes" to something, and he tried to help people around him and treat them with respect. Eight years of marriage and three kids later, he's shown himself to be a terrific husband and father (and I tell him so often). That strength at the service of others stuff really does work if a committed and healthy long term relationship is what you want. It doesn't mean being a weak doormat, it means having a sense of justice even when it doesn't benefit you to be just and following through on your word.

I think in the absence of fathers (good fathers) a lot of men are seeking advice from “Top Gs” on social media. Men who have someone giving them good advice on the world (and women) on a regular basis don’t need to seek it elsewhere. Andrew Tate was a perfect example. He said his father was never around much, so no one ever gave him love or advice (or anything of substance) on how to be a man…so he I am assuming he fell back on material stuff (cigars, cars, etc) as what it is to be a man. It’s the blind leading the blind and overall just sad.
@gregowen2022

I think you're spot on. I hate to assume too much, but Tate looks like a classic fatherless guy. His whole persona is every TV guy trope. The constant robe and cigar like Hugh Hefner. The cars, the martial arts, the references to being "a warrior". The constant need for validation from fans and women. It's a sad caricature of manhood

I think it's a misconception that incredible men are hiding, waiting to be separated from the chaf. I think it's important to note that a marriage goes both ways, and much like a good business partner, and good spouse improves you. I like to think I was a decent human when I met my wife, but I can guarantee that I'm a better person today because of her than I would have been otherwise. Hopefully she, likewise, because of me. Agree with you 100% on male leaders being in positions of service. The Bible does say that wives should submit to their husbands, but it also says husbands should live their wives as Christ loved the church. It logically follows that the husband should respect his wife, help his wife, ask her for her opinions, and put her needs (and the needs of their children) first.

Whenever I probe further it's always some chick who they met on some hookup app, talks about how promiscuous she is, does her makeup like an onlyfans model, or a combination of the three. Then it's a constant tirade of "women are all whores", "you can't trust women", etc and they never piece together that maybe they should stop actively seeking out the worst possible candidates for a long term relationship.

They are monetizing on the vulnerabilities of young men , in doing so , it become hateful towards women as well as towards themselves . It is surprising that they always talk about on self improvement and maintaining distance from women but their whole existence depends upon women whether its hatred or defining woman or controlling them . They are literally deriving their manhood from the women. I think these men need "self love " first ....one has to talk about phenomena "men policing other men" because most of these happen because men judge other men on these toxic values ..Men need other men's validation for realization of masculinity. It is the other men who will judge you more or look down upon on you if you don't have a "HOT "girlfriend and likewise you will feel devalued if you don't have a hot girlfriend like your male friend

I don’t think the manosphere is about “being a good man”. It’s about self improvement and understanding that as a man, no one is going to come save you. It’s about knowing that as a man, you don’t have to accept what society is trying to shove down your throat. What men want matters. It brings awareness to the current state of relationships in an era of modern feminism and blatant misandry. You’ve seen this on full display in our entertainment. I think the manosphere has some valid lessons on what it takes to protect yourself as a man in today’s society. Honestly, married men have already gotten out of the game, so they don’t know what it’s like anymore. I say this as a married man myself. I wouldn’t want to be single right now, but I’m glad the manosphere exists. Without it, all we would ever get is one side of the story, and it’s been that way for YEARS. That’s why we have corporations like Disney trashing their male audience in order to boost female egos. The manosphere isn’t perfect, but it’s finally here, and I say it’s about time. To all the young men out there, take whatever good actionable advice you can from the manosphere and cast aside what doesn’t work for you, but don’t dismiss it outright. There is value to be had there.
@gregowen2022
@gregowen2022 Жыл бұрын
These guys definitely have good advice, but on the whole, I still think the manosphere is a net negative. Mostly because it's so superficial. They tell men to improve, but for what? Getting rich, fit, and popular just because is the most selfish dream I can imagine, and I think many of them will only realize too late that it isn't satisfying. One of the things men are generally innately striving for is to build and protect. Building and protecting a fortune or a fleet of sports cars will never satisfy that need. You are correct that there is an anti-male sentiment currently, but that's not new. There have always been detractors to traditional masculinity, it's just amplified by social media right now. I disagree that our response should be to "protect ourselves" by turtling up. I think that attitude is numbly escaping your duty as a man, just as much as drunkenness or drug abuse. They have value, but it's so diluted by the other toxic ideas, that I don't think it's worth it to dig for those good nuggets

The manosphere in my opinion is really shallow and superficial
@theimaginist3310
@theimaginist3310 Жыл бұрын
@@gregowen2022 I understand your position. There is a definite superficial aspect to it, but ultimately, it isn’t about the attainment. It is about becoming. Fitness requires hard work and discipline. There is no easy way to get there, so it also requires patience and consistency. If that’s the only thing that you take out of the manosphere, then it’s worth it. There will always be those who can’t see beyond the glitz and glam, and that was there before the manosphere, and it will be there long after the manosphere has outlived its popularity. The shallow pursuit of riches is a tale as old as time. I don’t find the manosphere to be any more toxic than body positivity and modern feminism. It’s possible to get fit, make money, have nice things and still be a “good man”. I would argue that a good man is more effective if he’s capable of those things. I wish being a good man was enough, but if you aren’t an effective man, it rarely matters how good you are. Fitness, money and the trappings of success might be shallow, but they are usually pretty good signifiers of an effective person. A good person is nice, but an effective good person is better. I don’t agree with everything about the manosphere, but writing it off as the shallow pursuit of superficial attractiveness and bling does it a disservice. None of those things come easy if you had to work for them. They are all byproducts of hard work, discipline, perseverance, and a strong work ethic. I’m not interested in fancy cars and I don’t need a ton of money, but I respect the amount of work it takes to get those things. I also understand that a lot of those people who have engaged in those shallow pursuits have likely done more good in the world than I ever have or ever will because the person they become to attain those things has the power to affect the world. The manosphere was bound to happen. The encroachment into male spaces in pop culture and entertainment, putting women on pedestals, blatant misandry in popular media, and censoring any discourse with the slightest whiff of misogyny, or accusation of it, for that matter. There are even women going into gyms and trying to record men eyeing them in the gym to prove they’re creeps. I’d say there aren’t many places for men left. Better to have men together laughing, exercising, flexing in the mirror and having fun in shallow pursuits than to have them beaten down, demoralized, ignored, and angry with no outlet for their frustration. Whether the pursuit is shallow or not, it can build skills, it’s a physical outlet and it solves the problem of society having to deal with angry, idle men.
@theimaginist3310
@theimaginist3310 Жыл бұрын
@@gregowen2022 and this isn’t just about selfish indulgences. It’s about choice. A fit man who has worked himself can afford to say no to things. That’s what this is ultimately about. Calling the manosphere shallow is akin to calling the internet evil. It’s a tool. It’s a resource. It’s only shallow if the people using it have superficial purpose. Like I said before, married men have more than likely found their purpose already, so it seems only fair to leave single men to find theirs. Whether you think it’s shallow or superficial is beside the point. It’s an engaging goal that makes productive, capable men, and it doesn’t always make them shallow any more than being attractive makes women stupid.

That being said, there is also a problem with countless women taking advantage of this in relationships (my own included for over a decade) until I started asserting my worth to her and establishing boundaries. Although I disagree that the man *should* always be the leader, I can’t really find much fault with your perspective. And I’m a dreaded feminist, of the non-woke, second wave variety. In my marriage, who “leads” in any given situation depends on our individual strengths. Big impactful life decisions? I have the final say, as my man is rather hot-headed and ruled by feelings, which he acknowledges. Getting shit done day by day, like a financial savings plans with a concrete end goal? HE has the say, as I live in my head w abstract concepts and so lose track easier, so he’s better at that stuff. I’m big-picture, he’s detail. I’m surprised you didn’t mention The Big Grift. I think the main reason these manosphere ideologies are so contradictory and poisoned with counterproductive misogyny (other than the copium) is that happy, self-actualized men make for poor repeat customers. Have you seen how much these sheisters charge for their “workshops” and shit? The advice cultivates shallow materialism, preventing true inner contentedness, and pushes away any good women with the misogyny, only attracting user-types which further cements their misogyny, thereby creating a vicious self-fulfilling prophecy where the man desperately consumes everything these “gurus” shit out. Keeping that 💰 flowing!

And if I were to ever open up my feelings and show vulnerability I'll lose her because that's "feminine" energy. Something felt off but I trusted him. Well, now we're unofficially separated. It wasn't until after the fact that I learned about the red pill movement and I realized where my friend was getting all this advice from. From day one, I hated Fresh and Fit, Rollo Tomasi, Andrew Tate and all those other con men. I think it's too late for my friend though. He's gonna be single forever.

God tells us as men to be a leader to our family, as He is to us, to be like Jesus. That means first off that we should be an example of love, humbleness, truth, and righteousness. We should serve our families and protect even if it means death, a man's responsibility as the leader, means also being the one who should lay his life down, both physically, and metaphorically, to support his family. When it comes to whether your wife and children will respect you, the best we can do is show them love, wisdom, and understanding. If you want a better sex life? Try to understand your wife, talk to her, be patient, be loving, be understanding, be sacrificial. If you want your kids to respect you, show that you are slow to anger, wise in thought and actions, and compassionate, firm in your beliefs in truth and righteousness. A man doesn't demand respect, he gains it through his actions, actions that make people want to follow him, and want to be with him. God peace

I am too a happily married man that recently came across the Red Pill/Manosphere movement. However, you seemed to disagree more with the messengers than the message, namely Andrew Tate. Men need to have these discussions about relationships, marriage, family, purpose, and social and political constructs. I appreciate that you disagree with their approach, but your argument is based on conjecture and personal viewpoints. While the Manosphere's position is based on data points pulled from government and corporate agencies. The common sense reasoning you are using does not match the majority of men's reality. I would encourage you to take a deeper dive into the Red Pill movement and the statistics. The movement is not about making men better but making men more aware of what we are up against in Western society dominated by social media.

Servant leadership is only one style of leadership. Which is taught mostly in churches or Christian-based institutions. It is also the reason why men have left the church. It only holds the man accountable and not those around him like the woman in his life or wife and kids. Teaching men, we do not deserve to have our needs met. In the Christian faith when you marry your bodies belong to each other. So, yes your friend should expect sex from his wife. She should be initiating sexual intimacy because she wants to meet his sexual needs.

I would love recommendations on people who aren't like the ones I mentioned. It's true that some of the underlying principles in the Manosphere are sound, as well as the stats you mentioned. The trouble is in the execution. I do think a man should have an attitude of service, but it's also true he should have a woman deserving of that service. The issue i see is that message getting warped into either "women are trash, men don't need it" or emphasis on self improvement to the point that guys' egos grow to the point where they think they are too good for a woman. You are correct that a man should protect himself from harmful relationships, and that fact should not get thrown out when disagreeing with the Manosphere. From what I have seen, though, the good core principles tend to get twisted into egotistical misogyny.

3:03 I don't really agree here. Everything I'm about to say can be applied the other way as well, it's just less common that men sexually starve their wives. It's easy to make an emotional case that women don't owe men sex but that's just bs in a marriage. The only marriage where I'd concede that point is one where the wife has no issue with her husband getting his with someone else freely if she's not interested. You marry that man and take him off the market, in a just scenario anyways, and you also remove all other women from his plate. Now he has zero sexual outlet but you. You are the only one in the world that he can have any sexual contact with based on the terms of the marriage and we're telling women they don't owe their husbands sex? That's literally the only thing he's not allowed to outsource lol. He doesn’t need you to clean, he can get a maid. He doesn’t need you to cook, places do that already. I don't like having other people raising people's kids, but he can get people to do that too. The only thing he's not allowed to go to a third party for is sex, and that's what people want to tell wives they don't have to do lol. If we're not having sex, why are we married? Why is he wasting his time, effort, and money on you if you don't think it's your responsibility to keep him sexually satisfied? That doesn't make any sense. Now I'm not advocating for sex slavery of women, but the only thing that separates a good friend and a spouse is sex. I didn't marry my wife to be her friend. I was already her friend. I could've kept doing that without risking my assets. I married her for sex. You're a Christian yourself, even the scriptures plainly tell married couples that your bodies don't belong to yourselves but to your spouses and to not neglect to "come together" except for a time that's agreed upon by both of you. Starving your spouse of sex is just as wrong as cheating on them honestly. So, if you're a woman who doesn't mind him fulfilling his needs outside the home if you're not feeling it then good on you, this isn't for you. But if you expect that man to only have sex with you and no one else, for the rest of their natural life then it's a moral and scriptural wrong to make your husband do without for a month, a year a decade, all of which is commonplace now because this "women don't owe their husbands sex" bullshit lol. I agree with everything you said other than that one statement, and I'm not disagreeing because I think wives should be MADE to have sex with their husbands because I don't, but if they starve their husbands then they are absolutely failing at being a wife. I don't care if they keep the house up, I don't care if they are taking very good care the kids. If they aren't fulfilling their husband’s sexual needs then they are just a live-in maid/cook/nanny, and then they act like the husband is the dog when they step out to wet their willy. Husbands absolutely have duties in marriage, and when they fail at them, they are rightfully called out, as you did to your friend, but then we turn around and act like wives don't have any responsibilities, or that husbands not doing a good job is an excuse for them not putting out and it's not an excuse. She's just as wrong as he was, and him doing better isn't even a guarantee that she'll start putting out. What happens if he makes those corrections and comes back later and says nothing’s changed? "Sorry bro, looks like you're just gonna deal with it, your WIFE doesn't have to put out if she doesn’t want too you know." What nonsense lol. I'll put it this way. It's like you telling a child that it isn't their parent's job to make sure they are fed. Who the hell else's job is it? It's not the kid's responsibility to feed him/herself. It's like the government making themselves the only supplier of electricity then telling the public that it's not their job to provide them power. Where the hell else are they gonna go for power? It feels nice to tell someone they don't have to do something they don't want to do but it destroys marriages and causes weaponization of sex. "Hey boo if you get me that new bag I want, I'll do that thing you like." "Oh you don't like the food I made? Let's see how much you like a month without this pussy." "Honey, you think I can have you tonight?" " Why, what have you done for me lately?." No man would've be supported or applauded for telling a woman "Hey boo if do that thing I like, I'll let you eat the food I bought." "Oh you don't wanna have sex tonight? Let's see how much you like a month without this roof over your head." "Honey, you think you could buy me that bag I told you about?" "Why, what have you done for me lately?." If those statements sound abusive but the statements from the women don't then welcome to the modern world lol. The problem is though, that women can withstand all that because they can get a job while married. No one ridicules women for working in the mainstream. What can the man do? Not a damn thing and any attempt to plead his case, like your friend, results in "it's not her job to give you sex." Anyways love your content.

If you're wife isn't in the mood or is feeling sick, should she force herself for your needs? If she's straight up withholding sex as a way of manipulation, then you're going to have to figure that one out through counseling and therapy. But it's often not as simple as that.
@slentara1
@slentara1 Жыл бұрын
@@whosaidthat84 Being sick and not being in the mood are not the same thing at all. If I'm not in the mood to go to work to fund her lifestyle for 3 months all of a sudden is she justified being angry at me? If so, why? She can go to work herself and make money. Why should she be allowed to ignore someone's needs because she doesn't feel like it but I'm not? What if someone attacks her on the street and I'm with her. Am I allowed to say, "sorry hun I'm not really in a protective mood right now", or "You should've thought about me protecting you when you decided not to cook dinner, you can handle this yourself." If any of those scenarios seem unreasonable to you it's because they ARE unreasonable. Equally unreasonable is one party having the sole deciding vote on intimacy in a marriage. Wife sick, obviously it would be a dick move to try to get sex out of her and could be bad for her health depending on why she's sick.

@@slentara1 so relationships are purely transactional? You're a fresh and fit fan because you used their analogies. So you're not protecting her from a mugger because you love her? These scenarios are wildly different. You're talking about a potential life and death scenario. You're going to let her die because she didn't give you sex one night? Does she have to sign a contract before she marries you? You're focused solely on superficial aspects of marriage and relationships. They're complicated as Hell, as are the dynamics that exist between them. If you also don't feel like working then you yourself will suffer. If she only wants to spend your money then maybe rethink this whole thing, unless that's what you want. Believe it or not, most women like working and having their own money.

@@whosaidthat84 I like how you just completely skated over everything I just said to try to insult me lol. The scenarios are different because the expectations are different. Giving our bodies for our wives means, as you said, possibly dying and we're supposed to teach our sons this, but it's too much for us to teach our daughters that they should remain sexually available for their husbands. Idk been married for 15 years and have a very good sex life so I must know something lol. Idk anything about those people you mentioned so I can't give an opinion on them. I guess I do kind of believe it's transactional in that love without action is meaningless. I can tell my wife I love her until I'm out of breath but if I never show it and she gets mad does that mean she's looking at things transactionally? Why do I need to remember her birthday or do anything for her on our anniversary. I told her I lover her isn't that enough? If love isn't transactional I shouldn't have to do anything. If you think that there is a single thing I should do if I love my wife, then you sir believe in transactional love.
