Pachyrhino has to be one of my top 10 favourite dinosaurs, and although I didn't campaign for it like I did for the Edmontosaurus video, I'm sure I'm still gonna enjoy this one.

Disney’s “Dinosaur” was how I was introduced to Pachyrhinosaurus, and I concur that it’s depiction there is _still_ fantastic (👏). And giving this ceratopsian the starring role in the 2013 “Walking with Dinosaurs” I for one really did appreciate, even with that film’s flaws. Thanks for giving the “King Kong 2005” _Ferructus_ a shoutout; the Pachyrhinosaurus influence there is clear as day.

I sympathise with your horn/boss irritation, I have a similar thing in regards to Pteranodon being portrayed with teeth when it's name literally means 'toothless wing' (as well as the occasional presence of a Dimorphodon-adjacent tail and being referred to as a Pterodactyl, but I digress), which is a major factor in why I prefer the Jurassic World Pteranodons over the JP3 version (as well as the smaller, female-identifying crests, which is really making me want to see a male variant), even though I have heard many people say the exact opposite

I'm the Education Coordinator at the Philip J. Currie Dinosaur Museum in Wembley, Alberta, home of the Pachyrhinosaurus Lakustai. We have Mr. Al Lakusta, the science teacher who found it, coming to the museum once in a while. And then we have the mind blowing bonebed 20 mins drive from our museum. And we got some cool things coming out of the ground this summer! Fun fact; only one specimen of Lakustai shows 3 horns on its forehead, likely an old bull, the rest are all 1 or 2. But pop culture really stuck to the 3 horns!

I really love the Disney Pachyrhinosaurus, the way the movie was shot also made it seem huge and epic.

I absolutely love the interpretations that give it a thick, shaggy coat, like a dino musk-ox. Knowing ceratopsians had quills, it seems more than plausible to me, considering their cold habitat. Plus it's just so cool to see, unlike any other ceratopsian .

The Jurassic World Mattel toy is an old one from when they were still deciding whether they would use that species or switch it to sinoceratops. A new version of the species is coming out later this year which is more accurate.

Just got done with Chaos Theory, and I can confirm, we got a Pachy, and with no horns!

The pachyrhinosaurus in Arc is also positively TINY. This was one of the larger ceratopsians but here its like the size of a horse.

pachyrhinosaurus is my second all time favorite ceratopsian next to Triceratops due to it strange and unique appearance with it nasel boss from nose to above the eyes such a amazing dinosaur with it confirmed for chaos theroy with the toy showing it look in the show with it having it nasel boss im looking forward to it :)

Pachyrhinosaurs is the best

I've heard some people debate on whether Pachyrhinosaurus had either a fuzzy coat, or just body fat to protect itself from the cold environment, so I can see why some are depicted with the former. It's still a fascinating dinosaur either way.

I'm really looking forward to the video about Alamosaurus because I loved that sauropod ever since I saw Josh Cottons redesign of Arlo from The Good Dinosaur as one.

I was going to point out how unexpected it was to see such an unconventional pick so early in the series but now that I see its your favorite dinosaur it all makes sense Still, as good a time as any to say how much I adore these videos. You're obviously knowledgeable, but you aren't pretentious about it in the slightest. I appreciate how you can point out inaccuracies while still appreciating a design for what it is. I see myself following this series almost indefinitely at this point.

I love the Pachyrhinosaurus, it’s one of my favorite Ceratopsians of all time on point with Eotriceratops, Nedoceratops and Diabloceratops and I’m so happy that Pachyrhinosaurus has appeared in many dinosaur media and good job analyzing the Pachyrhinosaurus in Pop Culture and Depictions because of amazing the dinosaur really is.

Pachyrhino is a neat looking dinosaur. thankfully this year we are getting a brand new sculpt for the Mattel Jurassic World Pachyrhino, and it looks great.

The Ice Age special of the Dino Riders cartoon also featured Pachyrhinosaurus with a massive horn. The best thing about its toy version was that its saddle would fit on the Triceratops and Torosaurus as well.

Have to point out Dino Riders here. It does have a giant horn, but that is due to Robert T. Bakker being directly involved with the design, who did think it might have had a horn back in the 80's. Just Bakker being weird again. The toy had spectacular colors, though sadly, the cartoon would ignore that for beige. Something I wouldn't let off the hook as quickly as you is Ark. I recently found out they have an "educational" app on Switch that's esessentially a book on all dinosaurs from the game, using their designs as the real creatures and even writing stuff in there that is nonsense such as my favourite "Triceratops defended itself with its spiky frill", making it almost look like a Styracosaurus.

The prior extinction species is based of of Canadensis the largest species which was measured with GDI at 3-5 tons (model was 5 tons and size estimate for canadensis is the former estimate)

Hey Dino Guy, the Ferrucutus from King Kong 2005 does have similarities to the Pachyrhinosaurus due to having the same round bulk on top of it’s nostrils and also they both share the same frill

When I see them for the first time in Disney's Dinosaur, I thought that they were the coolest looking dinosaurs ever. It's still one of my favorite dinosaurs.

As I call the NHK version, Elasmorhinosaurus. And the reason why Sinoceratops is in: Ok the full story is that the stock image of Adult Patchi they used for their Sinoceratops. Which explains the holes in the frill. And if you look at the two side-by-side, it's clear.

in fairness to dinosaur king they seemed to sort of combine the boss and the horn idea. It's a lot bulkier and flatter than most of the depictions where it is just a horn.

Honestly when i used to play ark i wished they would fix the pachyrhino design caused its head looked off and the way it ran was verry weird and stubby looking. Even tho they gave it a weird ability where it releases a gas that either tires other dinos or makes everything attack it.

Im exited for chaos theory, because if there’s a chance pachyrinosaurus will be in it, That also means there’s a high chance Jurassic world evolution 2 will remodel them. (I’m just not the biggest fan of Jurassic world evolution 2s current design)

4:19 But even when ignoring the horn the show’s *Pachyrhinosaurus* has one fatal flaw in that it’s head is based on an entirely separate ceratopsian that’s right based on the model as was actual fossils that used as reference the animal that this show calls pachyrhinosaurus is actually based on Achelousaurus horneri a close relative of Pachyrhinosaurus was lived in Montana during the campaign about 75 to 74 million years ago and it is currently considered to be the ancestor of pachyrhinosaurus the thing I don’t get is why they used achelousaurus as far as I know achelousaurus has never been considered a synonym of pachyrhinosaurus and there is a clear distinction between the two genera Pachyrhinosaurus had a larger nose boss and it’s frill horns were shorter and curved around the skull while Achelousaurus’s are longer and extent outwards away from the frill and this isn’t just the fact that the skull resembles that of achelousaurus no no it looks exactly like achelousaurus with a horn put on it’s nose from the frill horns to even the bosses above it’s eyes so again why do they do this frankly I have no idea as it literally no GodDino sense the species they’re supposed to be depicting Pachyrhinosaurus lakustai has plenty of material to go off of to distinguish it from achelousaurus achelousaurus lived in Montana not Canada the list goes on and on all they did knows taking a completely different dinosaur call it pachyrhinosaurus and probably fed it a load of Cheetos based on how chunky that dinosaur is and also Paleo Nerd calls it Stupidoceratops suckitudinus & maybe you call it as well when the thing does not resembles pachyrhinosaurus

By the way, Pachyrhinosaurus is almost in Path of Titans! Via mods of course. There’s a few in development but there’s one that’s really close to release if not already out! But there’s also a Nascutoceratops and a Triceratops in the works as well! Lots of cool ceratopsians in development!

You should have a look at the Minecraft mod “prehistoric nature” it has over 800 prehistoric animals from the pre-cambrian all the way to the Jurassic at the moment the Jurassic is still being worked on so yea but they are going until the present day the creatures are as accurate as they can be within the restrictions of Minecraft and they will update animals and there models if new research comes out on them with noticeable differences
