Halo 3 had the best level design in the series but some of the writing decisions were ugh.

yeah im ngl halo 3 alwatys had me confused on what was going on, for the longest i had no idea wtf was the whole point of getting to the ark and tbh even now its still fuzzy in my head

Preach because people blindly praise H3's story writing which imo was weak. It did have incredibly epic moments and certain story beats hit quite well, but the writing and overarching plot felt muddied. H4's writing was leagues better -with weaker gameplay than H3 ofc-. And yeah level design 10/10 easy.

@flaquito6296 I think Bungie was scared of having a meaningful story due to apparently Halo 2 recieving backlash for its strong emphasis on a story so they made Halo 3 as more a sequel to Halo CE in terms of execution than it was a sequel to Halo 2.
@sporemariomaster Жыл бұрын
@Spore_Money Halo 3 dropped every important story element from 2 and made all its deep characters into caricatures of their Halo 2 selves. With the heros being weak or 1 dimensional and the villians being both not present and rewritten to be comically evil instead of their smart and layered Halo 2 versions.

Especially when they killed off Miranda and Johnson for "plot development" and play it off as if they are supposed to be gut wrenching moments.

(Bungie & 343:) Dear humanity, we regret writing poorly, we regret becoming a meme, and we regret Halo 5.

Halo 5 was a banger of a halo game if you ignore the campaign

@@armstronggaming8566 Unfortunately the campaign is the part the majority of people look forward to the most, Halo's campaign mechanics and story are the reason Halo was once a titan in the industry. The multiplayer is just a nice opportunity for Microsoft to nickel and dime their dimmer customers while requiring the least effort on their part.
@armstronggaming85669 ай бұрын
@@Voltaic_Fire I'm not entirely sure about that, but to each their own. I mainly play multiplayer, and 5 was the first game to really knock it out of the park for me

My brother rationalised the "To war," remark as being a pre-established codeword/phrase to initiate a set plan. Doesn't change the fact the line is super corny, but at least it takes some of the cringe off.
