I've been telling folks for years the girls could sing. Kandi does not have the typical "pretty" voice. It's heavy, and raspy with a fast vibrato. Extremely fast. People just don't know how to appreciate a wide range of voices. And I think Kandis voice is suited more to the variety she showed here than R&B.

I have never watched the show. When I found out Kandi Burress won, I had to watch the videos. I never really heard her sing solo, but her speaking voice is so beautiful, you can tell she can sing. She Turned this Show OUT!! She is a True PERFORMER!!!

This was my 1st time actually hearing what her voice is actually, truly capable of as a solo artist. To be honest… based on the songs that I’ve heard on this video and the style of them. I believe that Kandi could do well in the soft rock genre of music. She needs songs where she can belt. Her voice is very very strong. R&B is not her genre as a solo artist. This is my professional opinion. #NewTinaTurner… I pray someone close to her reads this and suggests it to her… who knows, I may be able to get the message to her myself.

Kandi is underrated for sure. She gets judged for the singing she’s done on RHOA but remember that all singers rehearse constantly before performing. Those snippets were not rehearsed. She has great versatility but I loved the way she sang River Deep Mountain High. I think if she were to change her style to more of that style she’d be a force to be reckoned with for sure.
