To celebrate London Marylebone's 125th Anniversary, Retro Railtours and the 125 Preservation Group collaborated on a tour from Sheffield to London Marylebone, following mostly the same route as 'The Master Cutler' service using two Rail Adventure power cars and ex-EMT Mk3s.
The video starts with the stock for the tour arriving empty into Sheffield with 3Z42 0542 Chaddeston Sidings to Sheffield. Passengers and staff boarded before starting the outbound tour with 1Z43 0648 Sheffield to Marylebone.
After being pathed behind several trains, we finally at Marylebone, where passengers could alight and explore London or take the mini-tour to Banbury and back. I decided to stay on the train (for an extra £50 first class) for the mini-tour with services 1Z44 1113 Marylebone to Banbury and 1Z45 1317 Banbury to Marylebone.
After about half an hour of photos, the tour was ready to head back north with 1Z46 1521 Marylebone to Sheffield with the sunset.
Now pitch black, the return tour arrives back into Sheffield 14 hours after it left. After the train was empty, the stock returned to Chaddeston Sidings as 5Z47 2107 Sheffield to Chaddeston Sidings.
Was also nice to see ‪@redmozzy‬ and ‪@just_some_northerner356‬ again!
