Great video - I saw Max Power at a newsagent in South Africa in 1994 and bought it every month. Still have the Beasts from the East DVD and the Max Power CD.

'Chimp chariot' was a word described by the magazine which defined our cars back in the day, that phrase has never left me. Over 20 years later, it's never left, I've just been fortunate enough to buy better Chimp Chariots over the years 😆

I feel sorry for the guys that missed cruising in it’s prime, street racing on St. Peter’s street aka the Bridge in Maidstone to cruising in Southend then to Basildon for more racing then a cruise home, the cars the smell of rubber the girls the amount of McDonald’s and of course the atmosphere, if they invent time machines one day that’s where I’m going and staying, and yep 40 years old now still playing with cars

This makes me happy. I may be 50 next year but have so many good memories of these glory days. My wife used to run the gate at Mean Street and I often helped. Those were good times.

I was a VTS / 106 GTi kid myself, many a weekend wrestling a rusted solid torsion bar out so they could be lowered. Had a 16V Rallye as well, well 2 actually, white and blue one, both S2's.

Was a teenager in New Zealand in the 90's and loved the MAXPower magazines. We had nothing like it in NZ the wide body stuff was so mind blowing. Great memories.

Remember at the NEC way back when, they where amazing. Such cool cars, but above all it was the community bringing all walks of life together with the love of cool cars.

The car scene back then was so different. Now it's all beemers and mercs with a pop/bang remap and some rims.

Awesome. Glad to have been part of this era of the car scene, here in the states. Went to the NOPI Nats in TN and remember the blend of import and mini truck styles. Found Max Power mag at a local newsstand and loved what y'all were doing overseas. Hope this makes a comeback. Makes me want to get some ridiculous 90s car and shave it, body kit and unnecessary chrome. Bring it back!

My friends and I were in to Max Power back in the early 90’s then I moved to the US in 94. Those were good days, some were a bit over the top, but for the most part. I kind of feel there is a brewing of drivers who want the old no frills cars. Something more mechanical, not all flat screens and only a hazard button on the dash. Now with the new cars with flat screens you have to take your eyes off the road to know what part of the screen you’re touching as opposed to back in the day you could reach over and recognize what button you were touching use it like braille to get what you needed without looking away from the road if that makes sense. Think I’m just going to have to start a restoration service for late 90s and 2000s cars if I want that.

I’m proud to call my self a maxer, when it’s in your blood it never leaves you. I miss building cars on my drive way with my mates then going to shows and cruises. Yes we arsed about but we never did it in safe. I miss max power please bring it back. I’m lucky that my love for cars never went as I build f1 cars now for a job. All thanks to my love of cars when I was young because of the max power days

I was never in to Max Power as a Boy Racer in the 90's... 'Fast Ford' and a CCC were more my thing. But I can appreciate the Era 100%... still have my Ultimate Street Car Ticket from 1998 at Santa Pod . Good luck with whatever you have in store 👌

Last few years at school reading max power then passing that driving test to a world of modifying, cruising, car meets & a case of repeat…. Amazing times guys but yes bring back Max Power for the next generation 👍

I used to eagerly await my international delivery of my latest Max Power magazine back in the day 😊. I always was sad that a lot of guys here in the states got away from working on our cars from the late eighties throughout the nineties. I’d love to see a resurgence although my tuning days are over and my incredible builds long gone but I’d still lend a hand and support the lads

Some amazing memories of a brilliant era

This was my era and I’m glad to see the back of it 🤣

I remember, as soon as I put a massive yellow max power sticker on my back windscreen the car became a police magnet. I'd get pulled over more than once a day until I took it off, then it was every other week like every other teenage boy was back in the 90's. It was my first car so just a pale blue D reg Escort 1.3 L, but that sticker was like a red flag to a bull with Police!

MAX Power had a huge impact, also here in Norway. But was the direction taken wrong? Away from the car enthusiast-car-and-engine-builder and more and more towards pure (and sorry to say it) superficial styling (Lamborghini doors etc.) In Norway we have GATEBIL, and it’s still going strong.

My god.... I can't be part of this sadly; I only have a works van today. Just know my photo album of all the interesting cars and cruises I owned at the time made me cry.... You need to understand this addiction to modification bankrupted me. Took me in the end to drugs... but then I found my wife. Equally a petrol head.... In this economic climate we are broke. I work hard and selling my e30 alpina tourer we got married in signalled the end..... I want to return and so does she. I just don't know when or if we can in time.... Much love to all.
