The way I see it, Daredevil is essentially Marvel's Batman, where he is a masked vigilante who fights crime at night. Though I did like Matt Murdock having a cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home, I fear that Daredevil is gonna be toned down and will be cracking jokes. And Elektra will probably be a Mary Sue since we all know how Marvel likes to have strong wahmen, after Thor: Love and Thunder and She-Hulk.

The scene where Kingpin kills someone by wrapping a sweater around their head and beating them up is how I imagine Disney forcing people to watch the new shows.

The amount of backlash the MCU is going to get if they fuck up Daredevil is going to be absolutely insane and i think lot of people will definitely stop watching the franchise as a whole, i'm freaking scared man.

This is literally the only time I am praying you're wrong. I just finished watching Daredevil for the first time (I watched the whole series in under a week), and now I've got my dad hooked on it. I sincerely believe that Marvel is going to screw this up, especially with all the speculation (and basically confirmation) that they're gonna make him "more light-hearted" but I still have a little hope for a dark, brooding, authentic Daredevil. Not much hope, but there is a little.

As a Catholic, I'm terrified what they'll do to that part of his character. Like, not only is it a massive part of his character and themes, but it's something that I genuinely appreciate. I'm terrified that they'll massacre that part of his character.

I’ll be surprised if Daredevil born again is even about Daredevil. Almost everything in phase 4 has been bait and switch. The show is going to be more about Karen or Echo.

Kingpin was pretty much the best written villain in the MCU prior to Infinity War. In less than one episode Disney managed to turn him into an overpowered clown that dresses like a retired sugar daddy. In the same episode, he's defeated by a girl, who's main power comes from having a bunch of arrow tricks (mind you, even Hawkeye doesn't want anything to do with him and is terrified of him). Then to add injury, after he's defeated and embarrassed by the girl, he gets shot in the head by another minor "female" character in the MCU (at least to this point) to conclude his cameo. Of course, they're going to ruin Matt Murdock and Daredevil smh. They'll probably give Karen super powers and make Foggy bi-sexual in the new episodes SMH.

Instead of focusing on how bad the daredevil characters adaptations were *in* the MCU, i want to say to just be happy that we got daredevil seasons 1-3. Like i personally have accepted that Daredevil Born Again will be bad, or at least just not be as good as the original show (if it somehow turns out being fairly decent) but like those expectations are not that high. But we got 3 seasons of absolutely amazing media, so let's just be happy we got that! And just, ignore the rest if it turns out being really bad. (which I will most likely do)

With how they treat Professor Hulk and Thor, he’ll be lucky if he’s let off as easy as Clint was in his show.

My main concern is for Matt’s ethics and morals. I’m a catholic and so is Daredevil and that fascinates me as it’s definitely a moral gray area. But also his faith clearly determines some of his decisions so to have a character who is expressed and shown to be a devout catholic, having that depicted on screen is concerning. I didn’t finish the Netflix show (got busy and just haven’t had the energy to rewatch the first season and a half) but what I did watch showed me that while they didn’t always go into it heavily they still treated his faith with dignity. What scares me is possibility of Marvel making him catholic in name only and inserting their own politics and morals into it instead and passing it off as catholic when it wouldn’t be. “See he’s catholic” *inserts ideals and beliefs that don’t align with the Catholic Church and catholic teaching* Us Catholics who just wanna see a positive depiction of Catholicism: 👁👄👁

I'm also kind of confused as to why Netflix didn't try to fight to keep Daredevil at least I mean as far as I'm concerned seasons 1 through 3 were immaculate to me and I was looking forward to the potential 4th but then it got canceled and they didn't even try to fight for the rights I don't think to keep it

I'm not even cautiously optimistic... I'm downright pessimistic about daredevil.. and I really wish I wasn't, but the track record from phase 4 has me disgusted. I even checked out halfway through phase 3. "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain." 🤦

If Hulk, Abomination, Wong, and the Wrecking Crew were turned into jokes, then unfortunately poor Daredevil won't be spared. Every male character in the show is either an incompetent moron or a one dimensional jerk. Even characters that were badass in the past movies (Hulk, Abomination, Wong) were made into clowns.

I can't wait for people to hit daredevil and go, "Didn't see that one coming" or everyone to joke about him being blind every chance they get. The MCU humor won't just ruin daredevil but the MCU as a whole if this keeps going.

Daredevil was the first thing I've ever seen on Netflix. When I first watched it, I quickly fell in love with it. And I was really disappointed when the show got canceled after the third season. You'd think that Marvel bringing back the character would make me happy, but it doesn't. With the trash they have released in recent years, I'm afraid that they'll also ruin Daredevil.

First! Can’t believe that Marvel and Disney are super afraid of serious scenes. For example there is a deleted scene from Thor: Love and Thunder where Thor and Natalie Portman talk about her cancer and then Zeus with an icecream appears. Immagine what they are going to do to Daredevil.

Just to clarify as a DD comic reader, I've never in my life heard people bash on the Mark Waid run. His run is significantly more lighthearted in tone than previous runs, but it was done extremely well and also came as breath of fresh air after decades of darker and darker runs. The lighthearted tone of the story also has an in story explanation, that being how Matt is trying to process and get over his depression. Just wanted to clarify that this run is actually a good example of a lighthearted Daredevil story done right. But of course no one is asking Marvel to adapt something like that rn and even if they wanted it, they don't have the perfect setup the comics had to tell a story like this.

I have faith only in James Gunn and guardians 3. He did an amazing job with the suicide squad and peacemaker, and the first two guardians movies were also good (the second in my opinion way more than the first), so I trust him.

I'm still not sure why the MCU is so afraid of not being goofy silly comedy 100% of the time.

I think one of the reasons Daredevil season 1 was so successful is because it followed Raimi's formula in Spider-Man 1. The hero regularly gets the snot beat out of him, nearly dies (a lot), almost no one cares about him and he can never obtain what he truly wants and all the odds are stacked against him... and yet he still never gives up. It's the Clone Wars season 7 strategy Disney used. Cancel the show because you didn't make it then bring it back years later as "doing what the fans want" when you need good press after screwing up despite them being the ones who canceled it in the first place. Of what they announced only Guardians, Blade and Daredevil are things that would interest me and I'm pretty much sure Blade and Daredevil are guaranteed failures where Disney is going to do the Disney thing and ruin something that is supposed to be mature by watering it down from the R-rating they should be to do the character justice. These characters can only be cameos in Disney MCU because any movie focused on them would expose how Disney can't do them justice. Modern Disney in a nutshell: no grave left untouched, no character left unmolested and no franchise left enjoyable. I knew they were going to come for Daredevil the second I heard Kingpin was in Hawkeye. Every other successful character they have has been ruined, bar the Guardians of the Galaxy. If it's any consolation, I've seen shit loads of videos in my recommended feed by loads of usually uncritical channels talking about how they don't like the MCU anymore. I think She-Hulk having hit critical-mass cringe may have actually woken up some of the normies to the trainwreck. The bait may not work as well as Disney planned, especially because there will have been a bunch more terrible releases prior that will only accelerate the MCU's destruction. We can but hope.

I'm 100% in agreement with you when it comes to how these characters are being handled. Jon Bernthal was hands down the absolute best Frank Castle/Punisher we've gotten and his show, while flawed, was immensely accurate to the character. I know deep down that even if he were brought back/recast, he would be trampled over and gutted. It makes me truly sad that one of my favorite comic book characters finally got an incredibly authentic portrayal, played by an actor I genuinely love, and boom. Done. As though it never happened. And it never will again. It's a fecking crime.

Huh, I've been a Daredevil fan from a few years and funny enough the Mark Waid run is the one I got recommended the most after the Miller and Bendis one, if any, the only one I got told to stay away from was the Soule run and I still ended up reading it and it wasn't that bad, I would recommend you to do the same with Mark Waid's run, mostly because I've never even heard about it being universally hated lol

Mark waid's run is amazing it was lightheaded sure but it was really well written as it revolve around the question on weather or not Matt's happy behavior is genuine or a facade plus that run doesn't shy away from getting really dark that panel is very misleading and used by mcu cucks to damage control for the corporation the MCU's issue isn't the light hearted tone that isn't inherintly bad if accompanied with good writting which mcu never really had

Hi, I just wanted to say real quick that I fully agree with you. I grew up with not just the defenders shows but all the OG Marvel TV shows. With Cloak and Dagger always being my favorite out of them all. And I grew up loving these characters more than the characters in the films even. And I have always been angered by how feige not only canceled all the shows as well as took everything that made marvel what it was in media away to service his sinking ship, How they have disrespected and continue to disrespect the comic writers, illustrators, and creators that CREATED these characters by not mentioning, compensating, or even crediting them, but how they have also taken the marvel that once was, that I and many others grew up with made by so many talented people as well as the people at marvel entertainment (Not Marvel Studios, Marvel Entertainment) and ABC/Disney as far as the tv shows are concerned and have been using them as cheap pawns and nostalgia bait by feige. Just like they treated my three favorite characters of all time (Peter Parker, Kamala Khan, America Chavez) like pawns in they're universe. Even though I liked America in DS2 I still didn't really appreciate her role in the plot...but that's not the point. The point is that if there is anyone that feels the anger you and many other fans do it's me. And I will also be making videos tearing them a new one if they even think about touching the rest of the defenders, Daisy Johnson and the agents if s.h.i.e.l.d, Tandy Bowen and Tyrone Johnson, and etc. Especially because these shows and characters are so close to my heart and mean everything to me. Reminds me of, when Disney canceled Star Wars: The Clone Wars. Since it was on Cartoon Network. And then they brought it back on Disney + years later. Also, the actor that appeared on The Incredible Hulk, Peter Mensah, he appeared on Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. playing a different character. And Alfre Woodard who also appeared on Luke Cage, later also appeared on Captain America: Civil War playing a different character. My theory is that the shows started out being canon. Or at least that was the intention of the people above Feige. But then it stopped the moment he started reporting directly to Bob Iger. Which was back in august of 2015. So, yeah... everything that was out at that time was considered canon. Which were the first 2 seasons of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., the first season of Agent Carter and the first season of Daredevil. But after that it stopped. When Feige got more control. Notice that after season 2 of Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D., we don't see actors from he movies anymore. And if we do see any, is cause Feige wasn't planning on using them.

The only way they could do this justice is if Daredevil Born Again is a Sequel Series. Where it is apart of the Netflix Daredevil Storyline, but the next chapter of it. Taking in the ending of the Daredevil series, Matt had a happy ending, where he had all his friends and Kingpin was in jail for good. And he had new faith. So if they continue that, it can be that Matt has EVOLVED. He is a more positive individual now and has made changes to himself. And in the Sequel series, the main Villain would be Bullseye now given his ending in the series. But knowing the MCU they won't do that. They will completely reboot it to fit their desires of having an incompetent, faithless, comedic as fuck male who is always getting scolded by women of how he is privileged in a super toned down, CGI shitfest PG13 series.

She Hulk by John Byrne is actually very good. John Byrne is an amazing comic writer. You can read them in the Epic Collection. Also anything Christopher Priest wrote is also a must.

I've been saying this for months. I used to want nothing more than to have him back, but now that Disney is in charge and headed 100% woke and 0% writing, I'm terrified. I think most fans of the character (after having seen him handled excellently) have said the same thing since the news was released. And that in turn says a lot about how the MCU fans have shifted in their perception of the MCU now, as to in the beginning when everybody seemed to want Marvel to have full control of all of their characters. It's pretty apparent now that the direction Marvel ultimately chose is not one that works for all of their characters, nor all of the storylines that fans love.

I'm hoping this "Lighter side of Daredevil" means it's a deep exploration of the character. He does have some lighter elements and it would be interesting to see him try to rescue himself from his own darkness and make daredevil into something less self destructive. That being said I don't think they'll do that and even if that is what they meant I doubt it will be pulled off well

I hope they can pull it off and make it dark brutal etc. I hope they get that part at least. They should also show some parts from the eyes of Matt himself. Show conflict with both parts of his life
