I have been a vegitarian for the last 10 years altough I have had meat a few times in that time period. I still eat fish but not as often as I used to. The more I understand and the more I witness the karma of this world, the easier it gets. It started when I got to thinking about the suffering of the animals at a slaughterhouse where I took a job as a welder many years ago. I realised the cows are concious animals who knew what was coming as they were driven up the chute to be killed. Then I started watching videos about chickens. Same result, they are concious animals. If I do eat a piece of meat I make sure to bless the soul of the animal that died for my comfort, the very least I can do. Perhaps it is not nessecary but the health benifits of vegatarian eating are very benificial. As always, the middle way is the best. I know that all things die, and animals eat each other in the wild but I do not need to hasten their end, altough I will not suffer too much if I ocasionaly do.
