THE MEG MOVIE REVIEW 2018 - Just another shark movie? - We’re back with another Double Toasted review and today we have a funny movie review for a new Shark movie called THE MEG starring Jason Statham. Based on a book series also titled THE MEG, the film follows Jason Statham as he tries to kill a giant-sized shark that is unleashed upon the world. In this funny video, we briefly discuss famous shark movies like Jaws, Sharknado and Deep Blue Sea before having a brief look at The Meg trailer. Then we go in-depth into our movie review discussing the Shark, actors and if the movie is as fun as it should be. Let us know your thoughts on this film down below.

Fun Fact: A few years ago, Eli Roth was set to direct this but dropped out after not only did he want to direct the movie, but wanted to star in it as Jason Stathem's character. And he wanted it to be over $100 million. And he wanted it to be rated R. And Warner Bros said "Are you outta your fucking mind?!"

Athena Jaxon I looked it up on Wikipedia. The book is called "Meg: A Novel of Deep Terror". It was written by Steve Alten and was first published in July 1997. 🤓

Darkest Knight i heard the books were edgy. I liked the movie being suspenseful. The gore wouldn't change anything.

I went into this with few expectations {having grown up on Jaws}, and came away with a fun summer film slightly higher than B level.. There were a couple of good jumps, humor, and I felt that the cinematography was really great! The dark water and shark scenes were beautifully done, and the cast was an interesting blend of personalities.

I saw it in 4DX and it was fun and memorable. Though it would’ve been better to watch Mission Impossible, I decided to go with my cousins and go to see it. And I enjoyed it, though it helps that I’m in Mexico where the prices are lower than in the US.

Really? I thought they were *all* underwhelming, no matter the nostalgia factor through the casting 80s/90s celebrities and actors whose time had come and gone. The pale attempts at anything resembling science were ludicrous and the CG fx, SUCKED. I don't own any of these and never will. Strictly a single PVR recording, watch once, erase and done. No repeat.

I honestly wish that they would at least try to revive the 70s-90s "Man vs Nature" genre. It would be great to see more B-movies like Anaconda, Lake Placid, Bats, Eaten Alive, Night of the Lepus, etc. The only change is that these movies NEED to become more self-aware of how ridiculous they really are.

Just saw the movie and was surprised to see a Chinese Alex and Mrs. Kitner in the beach scene. I saw the movie because I read the book over a decade ago and very little of it was in the movie, to my recollection. A solid low matinee. The writing was straight Hollywood summer fare 101. The beach attack should have been on the crazy level of Piranha 3D, even without the gore, but it was an enormous letdown. Definitely a one and done movie, although I was amused the meg would prefer whale over Chinese food.

5 years old and it’s just okay The film is a B movie no doubt with hokey acting, noticeable effects, flat characters, and a huge gaping plothole that will have you scratching your head The humans are okay but it's really the shark that's the real selling point The biggest issue is that it takes so long to get to the creature portions so you're just sitting around waiting for the shark to chow down on stuff It's half underwhelming at best begging to have a trashiness to it if it weren't for that PG-13 rating
