What is it about red dresses? And red pantsuits, jumpsuits even!? Flying Squirrels, Super Squashed Boobs and disastrously HUGE Man Pants! Today's Fashion Edition features many a TRAGIC red dress but never fear, I have included some beautiful red dresses too to restore your faith in this color working well! FOUR red pantsuit looks go head to head to see which is most flattering. There's a frightfully awful red jumpsuit involved, just a warning.

So many times the design and execution looks lovely on the model but the wearer does not have the correct body to carry the design off successfully. Other times there are changes that do the wearer no favors.

Just Googled the dress and the dates and she WAS pregnant at the 2019 Oscars when she wore this dress and it was more like eight months pregnant. It’s actually very flatter for how far along she was and how big her bump was in other photos

There is no doubt that the Middleton ladies (Catherine's mother & sister) have this amazing innate dress sense. It would be hard ever, I think to find another Bride and Bridesmaid that complete a whole image, it was stunning at the time as it is today.

Agreed, sexy is not classy, it's more trashy and they just don't need to show so much. And when you are on a RED carpet do not wear RED! You blend in to the carpet. Only thing worse was Daniel Craig in pink on the red carpet. THINK ahead to where you will be photographed.

I really have no trust in "modern designers". They simply want there brand on anything popular. Disturbing. It wasn't really that long ago that women couldn't show their ankles. Now designers have, with their "art" managed to maybe coerce? famous people into a "collaboratively" effort. A win win? NO,NO, nobody wins.

If the dress didn’t have the latex capelet AND she had already publicly announced her pregnancy, the dress would’ve been just fine. But a dress that makes you look really pregnant and it uses latex? Eek.

I miss that beauty. Now it seems more important to be a bit outrageous to get attention, maybe. But! I'll add a consistently well dressed lady for anyone in the mood to Google. :0) Audrey & Givenchy made me think of a Grace Kelly related tale. I was so delighted recently to see (hopefully my spelling is right). *Beatrice Borremeo Casiraghi* photographed during Fashion Week looking so Classic, without looking like a 1950s Costume. She is my style icon. She's referred to as a former model, but she's also been a journalist, made documentaries & is married to Pierre Casiraghi - son of Princess Caroline, daughter of Princess Grace of Monaco. During Fashion Week this year, it was Crazy Outfit - palooza, except for Beatrice & Pierre! They are Dior "Ambassadors", I think the thing that Meghan wanted to be, and Beatrice wore a cream colored dress, A line, cinched waist. Simple, elegant. No clue about the shoes, but perfect. Her wedding was *so* fun too, if you just want to look at pretty outfits on nice people. Completely obsessed with the dress she changed into *after* the wedding.

That's been a constant refrain for years - the reality is there are many more women under 5'6" than over and more women with curvier figures than with figures like whippets, but designers don't seem to be interested in designing for women who are 5'4" with short legs.

In finishing school in the 1970s, I was told that if you’re a beautiful blonde, don’t wear a red dress. It’s just too much. I’m just sharing the one “red dress rule” that I was ever taught. Beebs, your hair (love the rose gold color!) and makeup with that top are chef’s kiss perfection. 👨🏻‍🍳 🤏🏻😘

Remember the scene in The Matrix? They put a stunning blonde in a fire-engine red dress in that scene specifically to be “too much,” to create a scenario in which Neo (and the entire audience) would be distracted and not on the lookout for an Agent. Great use of that effect!

I saw a beautiful woman in a very revealing dress and thought, “too much!” She already had her stunning beauty and didn’t need a dress she was practically falling out of. It almost read as a lack of confidence to me. Didn’t she know that she was so beautiful, she didn’t need to show everything?

Why are so many designers using dressing gowns/nightdresses as inspiration? Also a lot of these looks appear way too small OR oversized. Is this a thing now? When you see Catherine in her red suit beside Meg in hers the difference is SO laughable. One is absolutely stunning and the other looks 🤡. All too often I find myself asking why? Is there a mirror shortage happening 🤔

Red seems like a difficult color to style and design in, truthfully. I think if you make the *color* the focus, tailor it to perfection, and don't add little bits and bobs off of it everywhere, these things seem like the key. I learned so much in this video. So Beebs as a class of ‘74 graduate, I’m told I don’t understand fashion, fit, modern style. But, I do not need a commentator to tell me when a garment doesn’t fit OR when a style doesn’t work for a body type. You see I learned to dress my body type. Not that my body type IS WRONG, it is what it is. So as a < 5’4” woman you’d think I’m short all over, BUT I’m not! I have long legs, a short shoulder to breast point measurement & I’m short waist to crotch. I’m also long backed & hip to knee. I look ridiculous in maxi dresses & fabulous in long gowns. I can rock any dress if I can drop the waist to my natural waist. I’m long waisted so many dresses ride too high for my height. I loved the days when I could purchase unhemmed dress pants, because I tailored them to my leg length. Funny that my daughter can’t wear a standard leg pant, but she’s only 1/4 inch shorter than I am. She has a very short in seam.

Hello sweet Beebs. Catherine takes 1st prize not only because of The Lotus Flower Tiara she wears as if it was made for her, but her hairstyle, her posture, her smile, her attitude,. And the dress of course, but not the dress alone. Catherine's red pantsuit is also a favorite, it fits nicely. Thanks for showing these two outfits. Regarding The Megs; the dress isn't ugly, but as the duo sat down and it got dark, The Megs immediately started stroking her hair with an expressionless face. What an anticlimax. She probably thought no one saw it, but a bystander opposite in the salon was filming with her/his mobile phone.

For me latex belongs on costumes not couture. Maya gave me Thing 1 vibes costume , Megsey could be Thing2. I hate the itty bitty bra cups, they never look good unless you have small very perky boobs that fit in that cup. I am not loving the pleated pant trend, they make most women look dumpy. Emma Watsons top just looks like they ran out of fabric.

Beebs, you ALWAYS find the biggest hits and misses out there! Your knowledge of what would work better is stunning! BTW, you look gorgeous today, as always! You’re always on point with your assessments! Also, most of the worst looks appear that the wearer sees on a mannequin or at a fashion show and do not have the realization that they don’t have the body type or it certainly lacks discernment on KNOWING what would look good on their bodies and how it will translate on them knowing they would be photographed! Perfect example is dumpy Markle. ❤❤

She's not dumpy, but she definitely dresses as though she were taller. Since she isn't tall, she tends to look dumpy in her ill-fitting clothes.

You're so kind with the way you critique these fashion tragedies, trying to find at least some redeeming quality. Catherine absolutely won in every possible way (as is expected, she is exquisite & truly knows what works for her). I absolutely hated all the others except that lovely, ethereal gown Brianna (?) wore at the end. The Markle fiasco still ranks as the worst of the worst, but even her 'good' one didn't do it for me , as it didn't fit properly & was so utterly disrespectful. Red can be an incredible showstopper, but it's also the color that has no forgiveness when it fails. It's incomprehensible to me that these women actually decide to wear these disasters, let alone pay huge sums to look ridiculous. Their fashion coordinators should know better! Meghan’s red gown worn with the capelet is really quite good, but I think the train thing pulled the capelet, causing the slightly odd wrinkling on the front of the capelet. Certainly, the colour is great on her.

Megan can certainly wear red, IMHO. That lighter - pillar box red. I'm not so sure about the deeper - burgundy. Where does Meghan go from here with fashion? Perhaps an adjustment to her age might hep, certainly acknowledgement of the event & appropriateness.

First off all, you look fantastic today. The color and style of the top and your hair and makeup. Beautiful! Those red dresses. Red is such a bold color. To wear a dress entirely in red you have to be careful that you don't look like the muleta that bullfighters wave at the bulls! And I'm baffled as to why all these wealthy celebrities have no taste, i.e. weird boobs, bags for dresses, belted bags for dresses and thinking more skin is somehow sexier. But now Princess Katherine has exquisite taste. I believe it comes naturally, but also she knows her body type, selects appropriate outfits for the job or occasion and has a solid idea of what image she wants to have. I love your posts. ❤

Hello Beebs. Most of these dresses, pants suits, seem to b 1 or 2 sizes to small. The breast area is always to tight. None of the breasts are supported. To much back fat. Does not make a great look.

Serious question...what happens to the outrageous and very unique fashion pieces after they've been worn at such events? Some of them appear to waste a lot of fabric on the designs...and do they reuse them for new creations to prevent landfall waste? Some designs definitely look like they could be worn again..but some don't 😂

I love your channel and thank you. I find it so interesting that you constructively explain why clothes do or do not work. I feel that many women think that expensive must equal looking good. (The dress with the missing back reminded me of hospital gowns which most women and men contort to try to hold together when getting out of bed.)

Instead of having their clothes made for and tailored to their bodies like Princess Catherine, the celebrities are taking loaned clothes and wearing them. In some cases, the bodice and neckline was made for women without a bust worn by women who were more endowed. It made them look uncomfortable and if they sneezed there would be a major malfunction.

These celebrities have the money to buy their designer fashions and have them fitted properly but they are too cheap. Princess Catherine buys stuff off the rack too but she has the figure that is a standard fit.

@henriettalowe4689 To be fair to them (not really, but), it seems to be a bit taboo to rewear these sorts of clothes to these sorts of events, so I can't really blame them for not wanting to spend thousands for a single wear. I wouldn't. Of course, my alternative would be to rewear.

I'm not sure about this. I know there's competition amongst designers to have a HUGE "star" wear their clothes, and they know the lady will be asked "Who are you wearing". So that woman is their walking billboard. Now if we're talking about a (I don't like calling people stars or celebs, sorry, trying to get myself sorted) - but if you are not as well known, then I can see grabbing whatever you're offered. I feel bad that Catherine has to wear - I always call the yellow badge thing The Unfortunate Post It Note - that AND the cross body sash mean she has to do pretty simple. I'm not sure about the fabric on her red dress, but possibly because there's so much competing for space. Ad it reminds me of Christmas Gift Wrapping paper. But honestly, she's just so sweet and beautiful, and someone wrote 100% correctly that she wears her clothes! They don't wear her. Yes!

I remember a very simple red outfit which Princess Catherine wore on Oct 20, 2021, a red pleated Christopher Kane skirt with a fitted turtleneck, which she accessorized with tan heels and a matching DeMillier purse. It’s not a red carpet dress but boy, did she look AMAZING!

Red is not an easy colour to wear. I have 1 red dress. It has a flower pattern which eases the redness. I wore it to a Christmas event in Norway, and got some lovely comments. I think Princess Catherine wore the colour best. She is tall and slim, and wears her clothes beautifully. The clothes don't wear her, something I was warned against. I have one lovely red blazer and pencil skirt which I've worn many times. I actually have blazers in many, many colours. They are timeless and perfect to wear over skirts, trousers, jeans or dresses. I loved your look in this video. That top is so flattering and your hair is gorgeous.

I've started to believe in reincarnation, there's so many repeats on Wallis and Edward : Meghan and Harry... and they went to an event where she could wear any colour but Red... and what does Meg wear!! Not even a difficult guess!!! So shameful....but typical!! Since then, she's in cream, black, brown.... It's almost errie!! Are some of these photos of stars old? As some of them look pregnant the way the dress buldges out!! Rachel Weiss looked terrible in that dress, unless she was pregnant... I didn't mind Reece Witherspoons red dress with the burgundy stripe and strip sholder straps, but I agree about the belt, though, and it's rare for her to get it wrong!
