If you’re struggling with sexual sin you have a chance to be saved, to be freed, to be forgiven… if you’re being affirmed by the same people who should be helping you overcome that struggle, you never will. It’s as simple as that. Sure all sinners are welcome to the table… but we came to leave that life of sin behind. We didn’t come to rebel.

Thank you! This is what I have been saying for years! Showing love to someone means you help them to leave behind the life of sin, and help them to heal and walk forward more whole and healthy than before. That is what every church should do. The problem is when we don’t call sin, sin. I’m not just talking about homosexuality here. I’m talking about every kind of sin. If your child was about to fall off a cliff would a person not run to try to grab that child??

Would you like to pay money for your loved ones to spring from a made up place of purification and go to heaven? What about the finished work of Christ, now therefore there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God We have assurance and faith through regeneration and being born from above by divine intervention in our lives, it is a gift of God that no man can boast in, this isn’t man’s Gospel , it’s Gods. We are not our own but bought with a price, These people have not been bought. This is secular world practicing religion

I have been a life long Methodist. I now feel like an outsider and excluded because of this inclusiveness that has been embraced by a church I no longer recognize. I'm a Christian first, not a Methodist first. I will have to find a new church if I want to follow God...and I do want to follow God's wishes for my life's journey.

I went to a UMC seminary for a year as a candidate for ordained ministry. This thinking so overshadows every single thing in their training of future pastors, that opposing viewpoints are not only discouraged, but disallowed. I had points marked off on papers for writing Father when speaking of God, because it was “gendered.” Everything was so cold and academic, you would easily forget they were training people to work in active ministry positions. I did not feel closer to God surrounded by this “inclusive” theology and left. I have since started attending a conservative Mennonite church and feel closer to God than ever before, even if others may judge me. I pray for all of those still in the denomination, and it breaks my heart seeing them led so astray.

Judge you for what? Recognizing wolves in sheep's clothing? This is what troubles me now in my Christian faith. When you try and stand steadfast in your faith, and adhere to Biblical teaching, leadership silences you for being disruptive. They want unity at all costs, and dissenting voices are not allowed. Sadly, I think that's who Jesus spent most of the Gospels arguing with - Priests and leaders who were stuck in the mud of the law, and used it overzealously to maintain their grip on power. I see a lot of that in these mainline denominations. These unqualified and uncalled morons get in a position of power, and use that power to lord it over their subjects at all costs, scripture be damned. I truly hate what I see in the American "church" right now. More like the Church of Laodicea" if you ask me.

@rmbfralGods word specifically says homosexuality isn’t welcomed in heaven. Romans 1 26-27 explicitly call it sin and says that those who have same sex relations will suffer in themselves the due penalty for their error. We are called to judge righteously the Bible never says to not judge. Your also a hypocrite because you just judged someone for taking a biblical stance on homosexuality.

Please change your caption/heading/title to United Methodists change... our UMC church and many others chose disaffiliation and we are now Methodist Churches. We honor and trust in God's word and do not feel like his table needs to be altered in anyway.

When a church goes through schism, there is a change in Doctrine. The “UMC” embraces sin in their doctrine and are therefore no longer Christian. I do not know what the doctrin of the “Methodist Church” is, so I will not comment on that.

I’m so glad that my parents have gone on to be with G-D. My father was a “circuit riding” pastor (one of the last official ones with the UMC) and my mother was an “official pastors wife” who just about knew the Bible as well as him. They would have been heartbroken. And my dad would have been in their offices/faces regularly preaching that they repent…probably would have been escorted out. My church community separated. We were sad and yet felt that there was no other choice biblically. Prayers for the UMC. BTW, this was a deliberate campaign for about 10+ years now. Saw an article that made that clear about 3 years ago. Interesting that I can’t find the article now.

That makes sense. None of the Apostles were women. Women are equal in value in God’s eyes, but we have different roles to play. I’m a Catholic woman, and we don’t have women Bishops or priests or deacons. If Jesus chose men to be the Apostles, then we need to follow the model that Jesus set up there for Church leadership. Christianity should be traditional by nature.

In the town where I live, my church disaffiliated. There is a larger Methodist church that didn't. It was not even discussed. Heard different reasons but one reason was one of the former members left the church a sizeable amount of money and did not want to lose it This church has different activities and our church is usually invited to take part. I WILL NOT STEP IN THEIR CHURCH. One day God will say enough is enough Also, I do not want to be associated in any way with that "church"

That started the day Martin Luther decided to create his own church. Now we have hundreds of denominations, and they are all subject to this type of ideology, because the interpretation of the Bible is up to each person "through the Spirit", so people adapt the Scriptures to themselves. God gave the church the inspiration to put together the canon of the Bible, and He also gave his church the interpretation, which is ONE. The Catholic church will never surrender to these ideologies, because the tradition and the one interpretation of the scriptures aren't changeable, and anyone who's tried to change them was considered heretic. My heart aches to see this happening to the Methodist church, in which I grew up.

Our church left the UMC. Honestly, I’m not there for the church’s identity itself, I’m there to learn and grow my knowledge and understanding of my Savior and Heavenly Father. If you dear reader are a true believer & follower of our Lord Jesus Christ this should not come as a surprise to us. In the Holy Scriptures Jesus warned us about 2,000 years ago that this and many other things that are contrary to God's word would happen in the last days. I'm broken hearted. I moved over to the UMC church when I got married in 1975. It was the best fit on every level until churches in certain districts rebelled and refused to honor and follow the established Book of Discipline. I had to leave for my own spiritual sanity.

You can be free from the sin of bigotry and pretending to be God and limiting his creative freedoms. You can be free of harming the marginalized. You will be emotional before the throne when you realize you did not love your neighbor but instead joined with the world in cultural prejudice. I pray for your repentance.

This woman does not care about what God's Word says. I think her emotion may be because She knows what she is saying is against God's laws! Not caring and disobedience will be held accountable on Jesus judgement day.
