A photographic journey across the Mekong Delta and up the Mekong River to Cambodia. The journey ends at Siem Reap and Angkor Wat (the eighth wonder of the world).
Please note: A section of this presentation includes photographs captured at the Killing Fields outside of Phnom Penh and Genocide Museum in Phnom Penh. The survivors of this human tragedy do not want the world to forget what was inflicted on the Cambodian people between 1975 and 1979 at the hands of their own government, the Khymer Rouge.
Cameras used: A6700 & A7CII
Music: Sao Meo Orchestral Mix - Doug Maxwell & Zac Zinger
+ music recorded on the streets of Siem Reap, on the Mekong Princess and at Angkor Wat.

Fascinating part of the world. Loved your interesting and gorgeous photos. I have visited those areas, and can attest that you have captured much of the feeling of being there (aside from the brutal heat). Also I like the format of the video, simply seeing the great photos.

Dear Mark, Great that you are now sharing something completely new! I have been following you for years but have never seen a video like this from you before. I have already learned a lot from you, this provides inspiration in a different way, for which I thank you. I hope you had a wonderful and valuable journey for yourself too. Greetings from Holland, Jacques

Brilliant images, Mark and superbly edited into a 10 minute movie with perfect music soundtrack. When you're not educating us in the ways of the Sony Universe, what cameras and lenses did you most frequntly use for a trip like this?

Thanks for the positive feedback - I used the A6700 and A7CII and size compact lenses. I normally only travel with three or four but I am preparing a travel lens comparison video for my Patrons that I will release early next year.

Mark great video. I went to Vietnam last November and it is a wonderful place, as you showed, to take images. In particular panning as there is so much to see that you don’t see elsewhere..

I have posted all these images to my Flickr account and they have all the EXIF data. I took 6 compact lightweight lenses (to more than I needed) and two camera bodies (APS-C and full frame) because I am preparing a travel seminar for my Patrons where I will compare the choices that are available.

Just curious tho. When you’re out about doing shoot like this. Do you use electronic or mechanical shutter usually?
@AlphaCreativeSkills
@AlphaCreativeSkills 6 ай бұрын
Always mechanical if I don't need silent shooting. I didn't need silent shooting for any of these images. If I had taken my A1 most of them would have been captured using the electronic shutter, because of the stacked sensor the camera uses. If you need to download eBook resources (for camera settings) and personal guidance check out my Patreon.com/markgaler support channel.

Things have a habit of changing rapidly in Asia. I started travelling extensively in Asia in the 1980s and many of the places have a completely different character 40 years later. I recommend you pay your homeland a visit to see how things have changed.

Travel photography is not about the end product (the photo) it is about the journey, meeting the people and experiencing the culture. If some people think they can do this sitting behind a computer screen I feel sad for them.
