You never forget the one person that is the love of your life. The one who is your soul mate. So it is with Sonny & Cher. Yeah its Sonny first in that marquee name. Sonny was the heart and yes talent, brains, pizazz behind their tremendous success, and yes endearing relationship. When Cher was honored at the Kennedy Center, the last song of hers was I got you Babe. Everyone in the audience was singing it, and Cher wasn't crying(she would never display that to the public except once), but her eyes were filled and shining. Some of us were kids when their show aired in the 70s, some of us weren't even born, yet everyone has heard of Sonny & Cher, and of course Cher solely. They were endearing to us, their love was so strong and real that we felt it watching them on a TV screen. It never died. Even after both had divorced and remarried, their They were (and guess what Chasity was backstage) on the Letterman show. Hokding hands, singing I got you Babe, and again I felt that love that never died between them. Yes they lived separate completely different lives after they divorced, but those two were what we all want in our relationships...soul mates, lovers, friends. I saw them live. The magic wasn't in the writing of their lines, Cher impeccable costumes and yes unique beauty, her singing voice, Sonny obviousness in the beginning and end of all their performances, it was the two of them. They together were for a moment in history the best in entertainment and in love.

It's funny how Cher was shy and needed Sonny to be out there with her. Boy did she come out of her shell years later. She's got no problem commanding the audience and isn't afraid to sing, let alone walk around half naked in front of millions of people. They invented the look of the 60's together, and she invented the shocking diva image, long before people like Madonna or Lady Gaga.

yes his did i had the same thing happen to me and mine ex i was allow to cut my hair but not dye is i really wanted to dye is but my ex wont allow is and the cutting part i mean i was only allow to get my hair trim and but yet his would go get his haircut. cause i use to be like cher still kinda im i couldnt speak my mind or talk to strangers so shy and my ex would do all the talking. so one day i had enough and i spoke out and ask him why i cant cut or dye my hair and his say cause is will make me look ugly and no one would love me we were together for six years like i was sad when his told me that. his was also controlling not as bad as sonny but like excuse my language here i am a virgin and his keep wanted to have sex with me and try and force me too and i keep saying no cause im the type of person who is waiting for the one no sex before marriage type thing and his hated that i refused is that to the stage where his wanted more a open relationship i say no and his started cheating on me with boys at the time his was bisexual is wasnt just onces is was twice and possibly more idk his only told me about too. his live with me and my parents his though we were all stupid and that we dont know about him cheating but we know cause his forget that his give me the password to his facebook so i saw all the messages and another thing his never spend time with me anymore like yes his was a big gamer and stuff but like even when his was gaming his would still spend time with me so i know something fishy was going on when his left for work and come back home late or his would tell me going out with a friend which i dont care but come back home acting all guilty. so i keep it to my self hoping that the guilt would eat away at him which is did and one time we were hanging out in my room and his started tearing up and random blurt out that his was cheating on me and started crying saying im sorry is wont happy again plzz dont leave me i will kill my self so i calm him down told him i already know and so do the parents and i stayed with him cause i was scared of what his would do to his self. but only a month i realise that his was manipulating me to stay with him as his started talking about marrying me and having kids with me like his pick the names of the kids and everythng which i was fine with but anyways only a month i was done i started losing feels for him and his told me his is gay so we broke up and we our separtion ways still friends to this day but our relationship was abit toxic but than again his was my first real boyfriend from year 12 to 2021 so they say u never forget your first love i hAVENT

I like how Sonny makes it sound like they were playing nightclubs by choice. When in fact they were broke, and owed the IRS over $200,000, after their movie flopped and weren't very popular anymore. They were basically doing what they had to do to survive. However, it was while they were playing nightclubs when a producer saw their comedy act they did on stage between songs and offered them a variety show. Funny how things work out.
@tpajay
@tpajay 5 жыл бұрын
Maybe playing the nightclubs was part of his plan to be back on top. Both of said that Sonny told Cher to give him 3 years (that' the number he uses in his autobiography) & he'll have them back on top. On CBS's "Sonny & Me: Cher Remembers", Cher said 2 years. Actually, according to an interview by CBS's Fred Silverman,he saw them appearing on Merv Griffin, promoting an engagement in NYC & he thought they were "really cute" & had CBS producers go to the hotel they were performing. At the time Fred Silverman was head of CBS Entertainment. He gave them a summer replacement show & it was so successful, he couldn't wait to get them back on the air. Mr. Silverman said The Sonny & Cher Comedy Hour was his favorite show on the entire network. His interview is on YT.

This show was taped in 1969. It is now 2022. It’s been 53 years. Cher is still beautiful and performing today . I can’t help but notice the tailor cut on Sonny’s suit . Sonny was much shorter than Cher and the use of platform shoes was in full swing ( Elton John , Tony Orlando etc..) When you see Sonny in his entirety you can’t help but notice the length of his pants over the shoes not to mention I don’t think Cher’s wearing heels . Regardless of their individual heights they were both genuine and wonderful performers. Miss you Mr Bono .. RIP.

In NYC, this episode would have aired on WCBS-TV (Channel 2), which had aired the show since March 1968; he was the lead-in to that station's "Six O'Clock Report" anchored by Jim Jensen (and vied for the top spot with WABC-TV's "4:30 Movie," and both of which usually left WNBC-TV's "Movie 4" in the dust ratings-wise). As to the picture quality - around the 8:00 mark, the answer slips as to which camera was being used: the RCA TK-42/43 class. And the halo around the lights before the bumper cinches it.
