The Million Dollar Bridge Giveaway | Tugun Bypass

The Tugun Bypass, completed in 2008, was at the time Australia's most expensive roadway with a $543 million price tag. It was constructed to alleviate traffic along a section of the Pacific Motorway passing through the Gold Coast suburb of Tugun. It's construction faced a number of engineering challenges including a private property access bridge valued at $1,000,000 which was built for free for the exclusive use of one of Australia's richest men and subsequently known as the Billabong Bridge. In addition, the bypass features a tunnel underneath an airport runway in a sensitive ecological zone.

I worked on the 3D for this bypass. Yes the driveway was nuts. It was actually a really good job to work on. Nice 3D animation infographics.

Thank you for this look at the Tugan Bypass. Terrific animation and information. I had the enormous pleasure of working on the Tugan Bypass Project and you have covered many of the most important points. So many different engineering and environmental challengers, which were all achieved by our incredible Design, Engineering and Workers, supported by a committed and engaged Management, Administrative and Environmental Staff. Very proud of our achievement (we brought the Project in On Time and Under Budget). Thank you for this video, it brings back fond memories.

@@RiverMersey Yes it was animated in Blender. I can highly recommend Blender Guru's tutorial series, it's what I used to learn it.
