I worked on the 3D for this bypass. Yes the driveway was nuts. It was actually a really good job to work on. Nice 3D animation infographics.

You have to multiple a factor > 1 to the slenderness factor to account for the guy wires that are integral to the structure.

For the record the second design by DCM is much more polished despite it being blander. It would have made a great antipodean sister of London's Shard...

@@stickynorth The Shard is a great comparison to the DCM design, it's almost uncanny how similar they look. And I agree it's a total shame that these towers were cancelled, it definitely seems like we missed the last opportunity to have the world's tallest building in Oceania. I wouldn't be surprised if only the Middle East and China are able to compete for the record in the future.

Thanks for watching, I used a TTS program for previous videos but I finally purchased a decent microphone for this video so I was able to record voiceover. Hopefully you prefer the real voiceover, otherwise I just wasted $100 😂

The 3D models of the two Grollo Tower designs were made in Blender. The scenes which show the full city skylines with hundreds of buildings were made in Google Earth Studio.

You made a huge flaw with your simulation, you stated the guy lines were anchored to cylindrical anchors you used rectangular anchors in the demo.

WHAT? It wasn't a part of soviet communication network. It was just radio mast for Poles living abroad. There were 10 mln Poles living abroad and Polish goverment wanted them to have abiblity to listen Polish radio. That's all - no soviets were involved in the project.

I had the enormous pleasure of working on the Tugan Bypass Project and you have covered many of the most important points. So many different engineering and environmental challengers, which were all achieved by our incredible Design, Engineering and Workers, supported by a committed and engaged Management, Administrative and Environmental Staff. Very proud of our achievement (we brought the Project in On Time and Under Budget). Thank you for this video, it brings back fond memories.

It was planned to be rebuilt, but the people living there protested against it and it was instead replaced by two smaller masts somewhere else in Poland
