i have been following this game as a kid since its pre-alpha builds and i was never that much into the community but i remember when i was playing outside with the other kids at night and the oldest one would sometimes try to scare us by telling creepy minecraft stories he made up. The worlds were really small, and at the world border was an endless void; I recall in creative mode you could fly above the build limit and walk on it, and you could walk endlessly in any direction. Bread From the Dimension of Frosted Plants I kind of mentioned it at the end but there are definitely some strange things from the very early days of the game. Like at one point I seem to remember starting the game with a stone house. Some other things that come to mind are chain mail being crafted with fire and the void fog. Another thing is the Game Theory videos. I never really watched them before researching this video, but he does a good job of thinking about how strange the game is. For example, we just sort of get used to enderman, but they’re actually pretty weird when you think about it. My hope is that more interesting things are going to show up, especially since Minecraft is having a renaissance of sorts.

I like the idea that in a future update (prob will never happen) there could be a tiny chance of Herobrine spawning in the world. He wouldn't hurt the player, but with random structures and more it would be easy for someone to know they're not alone.
