When taken out of context it forces people to look to themselves and what they have done or not done instead of looking to the cross. Your explanation makes so much sense. That you. GOD bless you. When a teacher says "Y'all do your homework by next week" he does not usually mean "Congregate and do your homework by next week" but rather "Each do your homework individually by next week". So the plural "you" isn't suficient to deduce the communal aspect of the Lord's Supper.

I would say in other contexts (like the example you gave) this is correct. But 1 Corinthians is instructions to a congregations about practices when they congregate, which is what he specifically says in 1Cor 11:17

While I wholeheartedly agree that Paul was admonishing the Corinthians for their atrocious & un-CHRIST like behavior in the celebration of LORD's Supper, I believe it goes much deeper than that. While it is true that we are saved by grace alone, the salvation we received was done so at a very high cost. And it also true that no one is "worthy" in & of themselves. But for someone not discern or trivialize the serious nature of CHRIST's death, burial, & resurrection or how we are redeemed by the blood, or worse; for someone who has never accepted CHRIST as LORD, I believe would be eating & drinking damnation onto themselves . I'm also reminded of Matthew 5:23-24 So if you are offering your gift on the altar, and there you remember that your brother has something against you, leave your gift there in front of the altar. First go and be reconciled with your brother, and then come and offer your gift. When commemorating the LORD's Supper we are entering into the most Holy form of worship & acknowledging what CHRIST did for us & the price HE had to pay. And although it might not condemn us to enter into something so serious when we are holding on to any kind of sin (especially against a brother or sister in CHRIST) I can't imagine that GOD would not, at the very least, severely disciple those who do so. With all that being said, I believe it is extremely important to "examine ourselves" to prepare our hearts for The most important form of worship GOD has given us! At the very least to acknowledge our sinfulness & to be in a place of extreme gratitude.
@DannyZacharias
@DannyZacharias 5 жыл бұрын
Thanks John. I largely agree with what you say. My pushback in the video is simply that we take "Examine ourselves" and assume it means an internal review and time of repentance, and that is not what Paul was saying. It doesn't mean I don't think that internal reflection is inappropriate during this time.

@@DannyZacharias Again & I can't stress this enough & that is our hermeneutics needs to be based on all of GOD's Word. From what I see in the body of CHRIST today, there is too much emphasis placed on GOD's Love, Mercy, & Grace & not enough on HIS Anger, Judgement, & Wrath. I did a duel read through the Bible & don't understand how "Christians" can read the same the same text & not be struct by just how serious sin is in GOD's economy or of the impossibility of our keeping HIS commandments without the power of the HOLY SPIRIT's help. I'm no different & fail on a regular basis but it truly breaks my heart when I do. It is my opinion that if all "Christians" had this same heart of brokenness not only for their own sin but of the sin of the world that it would change our witness to the world. I can't even imagine how broken hearted the HOLY SPIRIT must be that many fail to acknowledge the aforementioned but worse than that is how the Church has not only allowed the sin of the world in but now it is celebrated too. That should break any true "Christians" heart too. inho

John R. Wilke the Lords Supper is all about Jesus and his finished work on Calvary. The Lord Jesus prepares His table for us with Passover bread and wine. There was only one perfect sacrifice and one continuous celebration Supper until Jesus returns to the mount of Olives near Jerusalem Zechariah 14:4. The Lord Jesus blesses the Passover bread and wine and declares this is my body for you and this is my blood of the New covenant shed for you. When Israel ate the lamb and applied the blood it was pointing to Jesus sacrifice on Calvary and when we take the Passover bread and cup we get the same results as Israel got when they ate the Passover lamb and lamb and applied the blood (Health and protection and provision and peace). The early believers broke bread daily from house to house Acts 2:41-46. The Lord Jesus our Passover lamb is present at His table. Jesus is our High Priest forever. And it's just hitting me now as I write that the Lord's supper might be a foreshadowing of the meal we will share with Jesus in his kingdom.

Thank you. I've been saying this for years and have been told to my face I was wrong. I've cited the two great commandments. I've cited bringing my gift to the altar. I've cited 1 John. I've cited 1corint.13. Nope, as I'm told, I have get my sinning self right with GOD or be cursed. Usually this communion is tacked on to the backside of a once a quarter or 5th Sunday event, just so we don't get "to take it for granted". At the same time, the relationships within the congregation are never mentioned, lest there be divisions exposed.

Seven years ago, this was posted so I hope you are still of good health and still kicking. I do agree with the communal form of dinner and I understand your logic regarding “examine yourself” to see that Christ is our worthiness. Yet the issue that I did not see dealt with completely is the statement that the communal meal is for believers which, I agree with but then how do you deal with non-believers who are in attendance with their believing spouse or non-believing children in attendance with believing parents? Fencing the communal wine and bread of Christ is always presented in churches yet fencing regarding a communal meal of friends and family would seem to mandate a bit of grace towards the non-believers mentioned above. I appreciate any and all feedback.
@DannyZacharias

Thanks for your comment. My own thinking on this, which I touched on a bit in the video, is that the meal and the sacrament is an act of communal proclamation. If I were in a position to be leading communion, I would always make this very clear. And so, for non-believers or not-yet believers, if they are participating, they are joining in the proclamation that Jesus is Lord. I am fine with them participating as long as they understand that they are aiding in this proclamation, and equally I understand and appreciate if they choose not to join in the communal proclamation.

Great video. Thank you for putting this together. I completely agree that most churches today misunderstand and misuse this passage, especially on "Let a person examine himself." I appreciate how you brought the passage into its context, and how you described the circumstance of communion in Paul's time as well as Jesus's original disciples. I would however disagree that "unworthy manner" simply means eating to get your fill. Paul isn't instituting an arbitrary rule to "wait for one another" before eating. That's would be opposite to the gospel he's preaching and would be equivalent to the Judaizers requiring circumcision. The "unworthy manner" is much more serious than that. What Paul was doing when he talked about people eating ahead of others was pointing out a symptom of what's going on in the heart of the believers. There were divisions, factions, likely from different ethnic groups or social strata or allegiance to certain teachers, etc. They were being hypocrites, preferentially treating some people better than others. They were leaving out those whom they didn't want to associate with or didn't deem worthy, and eating separately. This is a common theme in many of Paul's letters. Eating together at the same table at the same time in that society meant that those at the table considered each other as equals. Because of what Jesus did, people from all ethnicity and social background were coming together to celebrate Jesus by sharing a meal. This is what the gospel does: bring together people of all backgrounds as a united body of Christ. But the church in Corinth wasn't doing that. They segregated. They judged one another. They left people out. And so Paul is pointing out the very anti-gospel nature of their behavior. The "unworthy manner" Paul is talking about is the attitude "we're better than them". You can see how serious this is, and why the warning is so severe. In verse 33, Paul gives an example of what they should do (wait for each other to eat), and in verse 34, he says he'll explain more when he comes. So again, eating the meal without waiting for others was merely a symptom of what was going on in their hearts. So are many churches today in danger of doing communion in an "unworthy manner"? Absolutely! And unfortunately, this happens all the time, it seems, in most churches today. Let me explain. I love how you went back to the context of the institution of the communion and talked about the disciples. I would also point out that none of them really knew what they were doing either. They showed no evidence that they knew Jesus was going to die for their sins (or even die at all), but believed Jesus was the Christ/Messiah who would drive out the Romans and reestablish Israel as an earthly "kingdom of God". Jesus didn't make sure they understood what they were doing. He simply commanded them to do it to remember Him. I totally agree with you that many churches and believers today individualize communion. Another way people individualize it is by thinking of communion as an expression of commitment or faith in Jesus. The communion was never about our commitment or faith or standing with God. It was a remembrance of what Jesus had done. And just as Jesus died for us while we were still sinners, He invites clueless sinners to take his body and blood, symbolized by bread and wine. So whom does most churches today leave out from communion, risking the danger of taking it in an "unworthy manner"? If you consider what most churches "require" for communion, I think it's pretty obvious. Most often, the "requirements" for communion is that you profess faith in Jesus and understand the meaning of communion (where none of Jesus's original disciples would qualify). Whom do these "requirements" exclude? Children and unbelievers! I know that might sound crazy to many people, because I think our instinctive reaction is, "but communion is for believers!" But is it though? Going back to the original communion with Jesus, did any of the disciples believe in the death and resurrection of Jesus as atoning sacrifice of their sins, like many of us "believers" do? Since when did communion become a believers-only affair? Let's go back to the circumstance of communion in early churches. As you mentioned, it was a communal meal. Just imagine a group of people gathered together in someone's house to worship Jesus. There would have been men, women, and children. There were believers, but certainly many were unbelievers (seekers, skeptics, etc). And then they all sit down to eat with food before them. And then someone gets up and says, "This meal is reserved for those who have professed faith in Jesus of Nazareth. If you have not yet made a commitment to follow Jesus, please refrain from eating this meal. And children, you're too young to understand, so you'll have to wait and eat the scraps of bread later." Just imagine that, and how absurd that would be! Consider the alternative. When everyone is ready to eat, someone gets up gives thanks for the bread, and breaks it, saying "Jesus died, not just for the Jews, but for the whole world. He saved us, not because we're deserving or that we did something to earn His sacrifice. He died for you unconditionally. So this broken bread represents His sacrifice. It is offered to you unconditionally. All is welcome at Jesus's table." Now which scenario accords better with the gospel? Did Jesus welcome the children and the sinners? Would Jesus exclude anyone from His table? Do we have any right to exclude anyone from His table, His supper? So what is the "unworthy manner" we're in danger of? It's the belief that children and unbelievers are not worthy to participate in communion. Ironically, most churches today are doing exactly what Paul said not to do! I know this is not a very popular view. I myself grew up in a church were communion was exclusive to professing believers. To tell you the truth, I had realized all these things only recently after starting to try to read the letters in their context, rather than as a theological dictionary. I welcome any comments or criticisms on this, because I'm still learning, and I admit that I don't understand everything. Which is why I'm so thankful that Jesus doesn't require me to understand everything before accepting his sacrifice. (By the way, communion is also called the Lord's Supper, but ironically, I doubt any one would call a bite-size piece of bread and a sip of juice as anything remotely close to a supper.)

Thank you for this. At my local church, I see every Sunday as "communion". We praise and worship the Lord with one another then everyone eats. There is not often the ritual of eating the bread as his flesh and drinking the wine as his blood. Rather we take in his Word. Because He is the Word and give thanks by having fellowship that is open to all who enter. We as servants must not detour the blind from the Lord. Those without Christ are in need of Him.. There are already enough hurdles in the heart as it is. Let us not be a stumbling block ourselves but one who points to the door. Luke 14:13-23 NIV But when you give a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and you will be blessed. Although they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.” When one of those at the table with him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is the one who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.” Jesus replied: “A certain man was preparing a great banquet and invited many guests. At the time of the banquet he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’ “But they all alike began to make excuses. The first said, ‘I have just bought a field, and I must go and see it. Please excuse me.’ “Another said, ‘I have just bought five yoke of oxen, and I’m on my way to try them out. Please excuse me.’ “Still another said, ‘I just got married, so I can’t come.’ “The servant came back and reported this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and ordered his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the town and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind and the lame.’ “ ‘Sir,’ the servant said, ‘what you ordered has been done, but there is still room.’ “Then the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the roads and country lanes and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.

Blessed are they who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart. They do nothing wrong; they walk in his ways. GOD is righteous and wants us to be His children. Yes, GOD YESHUA came to the earth to save the Sinners. By His grace we are saved. We should proclaim the gospel until Our LORD returns to take us to Our eternal Home. It doesn't mean we should always remain unworthy to be His children. By the Holy blood of Our LORD JESUS CHRIST we have the authority to drive away every evil thought and evil spirit in our life. Communion is most definitely a ritual for the believing community, a communal proclamation of Christ’s death. Whether we explicitly exclude is the question, and I think this is somewhat up to the decision of the community itself. Personally, I don’t think there is a reason to explicitly exclude, as long as the meaning and reason has been clearly stated.

If this is symbolic then why the Jews quarreled among themselves saying "How can this Man give us His flesh to eat?” (John 6:52) unless He really meant that His flesh is food indeed and they understood Him that way, that's why it was hard for them.
@clithero1
@clithero1 4 жыл бұрын
In the Mosaic law, the Jews were told not to eat human flesh or drink human blood. Jesus was confounding the pharisees. This is why it is symbolism for Jesus to say it in that way. The death of His flesh paid for our eternal death, and the shedding of His blood paid for the remission of our sins. Therefore eat the bread and drink the wine in rememberance of the fact you have accepted the salvation He has given to you by grace. Do it in remembrance of Yeshua HaMashiach dying for us all.

Jerin Shaji yes the early believers broke bread daily from house to house. You are never alone but Jesus prepares His table for you and Jesus blesses the Passover bread and cup and declares this is my body broken for you so that your body is healed and protected . All blessings in Jesus name. Keep partaking in the Lords Supper daily and spread the good news. When you get revelation of the benefits of the Lords Supper then you will participate daily.

There is on one body broken for us and that is the Lord Jesus body broken for us. Not discerning the Lords body was partaking unworthily We discern that Jesus body was broken for us and his blood was shed.. The Lords Supper is the fulfillment of the Passover Supper for Christ Jesus our Passover lamb was sacrificed 1 Corinthians 5:7.. We get the same benefits as Israel got when they ate the lamb and applied the blood. The benefits Israel got were protection and health. Not one person was weak or feeble among the tribes Psalm 105:37. And no sickness or death could come near the households that were covered by the blood. The Lord Jesus prepares His table for us with His Passover bread and wine ( cup). The Lord Jesus blesses the Passover bread and wine and declares this is my body broken for you and my blood is shed for you. There is only one perfect sacrifice forevermore and only one continuous Supper celebration until Jesus returns in glory to the mount of Olives near Jerusalem Zechariah 14:4. As often as we eat this bread and drink this cup we proclaim the Lords death until Jesus returns So we can break bread daily like the early believers who were predominantly Jews who had decided to follow Jesus Christ their messiah. So break bread daily from house to house and daily and forget not all His benefits: Health,protection and provision kzfaq.info/get/bejne/paehoqSY3b7IqaM.html

In the Passover, the lamb was sacrificed, the blood put on the door seal, and the lamb's flesh was eaten... Without consuming the lamb's flesh, the sacrifice wasn't complete and all the firstborn sons, cattle, and servants were found dead the next morning... The Seder meal, which our Lord, participates in his entire life as a law abiding Jew, has to have a sacrificial lamb... Christ is the sacrificial lamb at the last supper. His flesh is true food, not bread, and his blood, is true drank, not grape juice or wine. Without doing what he clearly says to do, which is to eat of his flesh and drink of his blood, you are not participating in any type of Passover meal.

Jason Walker There is only one perfect sacrifice to end all sacrifices and one continuous celebration Supper until Jesus returns.The blood of bulls and goats can’t take away sins but are a covering until the the real price was paid. Christ is the end of the law to all who believe Romans 10:4. When Israel ate the lamb and applied the cup it was put to their account or imputed to them that they were participating in the Calvary sacrifice and eating of Jesus body and blood. When we eat the Passover bread and Passover cup it is imputed to us that we are partaking or participating in the Calvary sacrifice. Jesus said this is my body broken for you and this is my blood of the new covenant. Jesus is saying it is all about my sacrifice. Unless you eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood. They didn’t know that Jesus,the Passover Lamb was speaking. This happened just before the Passover Supper John 6:4. The early believers partook of the Lords Supper daily Acts 2:41-46

Because of improper conduct, many of the Corinthians were “weak and sick, and quite a few were sleeping in spiritual death.” Possibly, some ate and drank so much before or during the Memorial that they were neither mentally nor spiritually alert. Partaking of the emblems in such an unworthy manner brought God’s disapproval on them.

The Gospel of John is a beautiful Gospel and unlike the others in its intense use of symbolism. John 6 is one such example of this (others are "I am the bread, I am the gate, etc.) A great book on the symbolism in John is Craig Koester, "Symbolism in the Fourth Gospel." One good interpretive tip for John is that whenever someone doesn't understand what Jesus is saying (notice 6:52 and 6:60) it is very often a cue to look to the symbolic meaning in Jesus' words.

Forget not all His benefits? They got the protection of the blood and the nourishments of the lamb.It was imputed to them that they were participating in the Calvary sacrifice. If this is symbolic, Jesus wouldn't have left many of His desciples to go away "From that time many of His disciples went back and walked with Him no more. 67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” (John 6:66,67) He could have said, wait don't walk away, I'm just talking symbolically. Buy He did say that, He didn't even care for the 12 to go if they don't belive that His Body is food indeed. "But there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus knew from the beginning who they were who did not believe, and who would betray Him." (John 6: 64)

JS I You are right this is not symbolic. Jesus the Passover Lamb was speaking.Now when we read this passage in John 6 it starts to make sense and revelation is clearer.John 6 was spoken by Jesus just as Passover was approaching. Johns 6:4..Hear now what Jesus the Passover Lamb is telling them. When we eat the Passover bread and cup we will get the same benefits and greater as what Israel got.But we’re under a better covenant.(Key Point ) Only one perfect sacrifice and one continuous celebration supper celebration enforcing that victory in our lives. There are 2 parts to every sacrifice physical and spiritual. Physical: eating and drinking. Spiritual: the sacrifice becomes alive in our lives when we take our stand in Christ as spirit filled believers with Satan under our feet .How did Israel participate in the sacrifice: By eating and drinking 1 Corinthians 10:18

I think we should also see the part where that the communion could lead to damnation. So i believe this is to do with being worthy. If JESUS came to die for sinners so they might receive forgiveness through repentance then how could sinners still live in sin and do communion? That is like crucifying the LORD of glory afresh and it should not be done so. And of course the over eating is not condoned here and can lead to damnation. See here and notify the damnation part and the sick and weak parts and the sleep (referring to death) part: 1 corinthians 11: 24 And when HE had given thanks, HE brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is MY body, which is broken for you: this do in remembrance of ME. 25 After the same manner also HE took the cup, when HE had supped, saying, This cup is the new testament in MY blood: this do all of you, as often as all of you drink it, in remembrance of ME. 26 For as often as all of you eat this bread, and drink this cup, all of you do show The Lord's death till HE comes. 27 Wherefore whosoever shall eat this bread, and drink this cup of The Lord, unworthily, shall be guilty of the body and blood of The Lord. 28 But let a man examine himself, and so let him eat of that bread, and drink of that cup. 29 For he that eats and drinks unworthily, eats and drinks damnation to himself, not discerning The Lord's body. 30 For this cause many are weak and sickly among you, and many sleep. 31 For if we would judge ourselves, we should not be judged. 32 But when we are judged, we are chastened of The Lord, that we should not be condemned with the world. 33 Wherefore, my brethren, when all of you come together to eat, tarry one for another. 34 And if any man hunger, let him eat at home; that all of you come not together unto condemnation. And the rest will I set in order when I come. So i'm saying we should maybe look at communion in a more fearful way as to remember that this is a HOLY communion which is meant for rememberence and proclamation of JESUS CHRIST🙂 Let's also examine the word examine and put this in mind with this 1 cor 11 scripture: 2Cor 13:5 Examine yourselves, whether all of you be in the faith; prove your own selves. Know all of you not your own selves, how that JESUS CHRIST is in you, except all of you be reprobates? Bless you with the goodness of GOD Shalom

I have to disagree but I am open for teaching. If communion is a free gift, open to all and without any self reflection; then why does Paul admonish the church for incorrectly administering the sacrament and describe the afflictions that they suffer for it? Paul states: "Each one must examine himself before he eats the bread and drinks the cup. For anyone who eats and drinks without recognizing the body eats and drinks judgement to himself. That is why many among you are weak and sick, and a number of you have fallen asleep." "Now if we judged ourselves properly, we would not come under judgment. But when we are judged by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be condemned with the world." Who is Paul talking about, what is he talking about, why is he talking about it and what are the consequences? (Who) "Each one", "himself", "ourselves".... in other words, the individual within the church body. (What) to "recognize the body" in other words, to discern between the Lord's Supper and an ordinary meal. (Why) so that we may discern the proper context of gathering together to partake of the sacrament so that in doing so, we remember His death and His new covenant (implied). (Consequences) failing to recognize the purpose of gathering for the Lord's Supper results in the Lord's judgement; hence temporal punishment and possible condemnation with the world.

Hi martyapo. so I don't think we are that far off and from your reply I'm not really sure which part of my video you are specifically disagreeing with. I think communion is a gift and sacrament, and I agree that their is self-reflection. I wouldn't use the language of "administration" as the early church was less formal and more communal, so I don't think that Paul felt that this practice must be administered by someone official. Paul's critique is the practice of the sacrament by the community (made up, of course, by individuals). I would disagree with your "What" section - I think he is talking about the body of Christ, not the body of Jesus (thought I do agree that part of the point is that this is not an ordinary meal)
@martyapo
@martyapo 4 жыл бұрын
@@DannyZacharias regarding the use of the word "body": I copied this from a commentary and I would be inclined to believe to agree that "body" is referring to the church. "Not discerning the Lord’s body.-The words “the Lord’s” are to be omitted, the weight of MS. evidence being altogether against their authenticity. 1Corinthians 11:30 is a parenthesis, and 1Corinthians 11:31 re-opens with this same verb. The force of the passage is, “He who eats and drinks without discerning the Body (i.e., the Church) in that assembly, eats and drinks a judgment to himself; for if we would discern ourselves we should not be judged.” .... "if the word “body” means the Lord’s physical body, surely the word “Lord’s” would have been added, and the words, “and the blood,” for the non-recognition of the blood would be just as great an offence. (4) St. Paul never uses the word “body” in reference to our Lord’s physical body, without some clear indication that such is meant." "On the other hand, the use of the word “Body,” or “Body of Christ,” meaning the Church, is frequent. We have had it but a few verses before, in reference to this very subject (1Corinthians 10:16). It is also to be found in Romans 12:5; Ephesians 1:22; Ephesians 5:23; Ephesians 5:30. (In this last passage, “of His flesh and of His bones,” are not in the best MSS., and destroy the real force of the “Body,” which means “Church.”)

I appreciate the video, but personally I don't think that "communion" is something that Yeshua (Jesus) commanded. I compared what Paul said in 1 Cor 11 to what Yeshua said in the gospel accounts. The way I read it is Yeshua is telling His disciples to do that in remembrance of Him that one time. After all, He was about to be crucified for them. Yeshua did not say, "as often as you do this, do in remembrance of Me". I don't know why Paul would have quoted Him as saying that. I am still trying to find out.

+Christy Ellis This is a bit of a confusing line of logic. Do you not read the rest of the New Testament as scripture? It is clear that Paul and his churches within decades were regularly practicing the Lord's Supper. The Book of Acts is clear on this as well. So the earliest evidence that we have on the early church shows that they practiced this. This is, at minimum, evidence that Jesus' disciples and the earliest church understand that last meal with Jesus to be an enduring act which they as Christ's followers would do. "Do this in remembrance of me" comes from Luke 22:19

Yes, I read the entirety of the Bible. I don't recall the "Lord's Supper" (or "last supper" or "communion") being mentioned in Acts. I will, however, go back and look for it. I know that the Followers of Yeshua met together frequently and ate together. Is that what you are talking about? Another thought that I had concerning the "Last Supper" is that Yeshua's words could have been specifically for those who were there with Him at that specific time. The accounts given in Matt 26, Mk 14, and Jn 13 do not record Yeshua saying "Do this in remembrance of Me". Only the account in Lk 22, and He does not say, "As *often* as you do this...".

It was a pre-existing custom, to bless the Lord for the bread and wine- this comes the Torah, the encounter between Abraham and Melchizedek. Jesus gave it new meaning and revealed the depth of the symbolism when instructing His disciples that it represented His work and sacrifice- which the entirety of the scriptures pointed to and foretold. He was not creating anything new. He was simply saying, _when_ (not "if") you do this, do it for these reasons. And He was not "commanding/creating communion"- not in the sense our modern church world uses it. The periodic thimble of juice or wine and a wafer or piece of bread thing is a later replacement interpretation of what Jewish people were doing. They would meet for dinner and wine and bread was often part of that- certainly so on special days and sabbath dinner. THIS is what they were doing- a special meal together. He knew He would not be there for the Passover meal the following night and he deeply desired (the text reads "desired desired"- double use to show emphasis) to celebrate that with His disciples. So, He had this meal the night before (not an "early Passover" or anything like that- just a meal like they had probably done countless times) and used the already existing traditions that are drawn from the first patriarch, Abraham. He told them what the true meaning was, and told them to remember Him from that day forward when they did this.

Very hard to concentrate when you’re playing weird music in the background. If anything it should be much much lower it’s too loud it’s at the almost the same level as your voice. Yeah it’s super distracting. Learned a lot from what you said, leave out the music next time. Because of what’s being said carries in and of itself enough attention, you don’t need music to highlight such a serious point.
