I honestly love the old UI design of the touchscreen, it has an undeniable charm to it.

This 2013 infotainment and navigation looks and works better than most (if not all) other car manufactures XD

I am not much of a car fanatic but this is one car I would like to actually save for!Brilliant stuff!

This was nearly 10 years ago yet it has tech in it that is still impressive today

even now in 2024 this is more responsive and advanced than most car infotainment systems today cant image how impressive this must have been 11 years ago

I wish Tesla could add a "Classic UI" easter egg. While arguably uglier, I always love those old "bubbly 3D" UI elements of the mid 2010's. It would just be a cool tough because I always love seeing how far even simple things like UI styling change over the course of a technologies early life.

It's 2020 and no car manufacturer has been able to surpass the 2012 Model S. Freaking love Tesla.

It's actually pretty easy to use, and no more of a hazard or distraction than a regular dash. Tesla did a great job of design, it's very intuitive.

Don't get me wrong, I love the Model S. But statements like "Fine tune your listening experience in ways never before imagined" just plain insult my intelligence, and quite frankly, piss me off. Of course, these "never before imagined" ways include such groundbreaking technologies such as fader and balance, and bass, midrange and treble controls. Simply amazing!!

What I like is the fact that the touchscreen now is like 10X better than what this video shows.

I be curious to know how smooth is the ride; do you feel the bumps on the road?

Is the touchscreen removable? How do you control the car if it stops working? Are the controls on the steering wheel independent of the screen?

This car does have some nice refinements with lots of extra space and even though it will have very low maintenance costs in the long run you have to wonder the cost in replacing the large battery array at the end of their charge/discharge life. Not forgetting the cost in electricity it won't be that much cheaper than petrol in the long run for those reasons. With lithium sulphur battery technology not far off that could also be a pricey upgrade.

Looks awesome but buttons are better, because the driver learns to use buttons blind, by real touch. Using buttons is then safer because then the driver actually looks out from the window and follows mirror's. Other thing is that it's not probably very hard to make virus for that when it's connected to internet. Some nerd can turn off your driving lights from the web. I like the car but this touchscreen is strange idea for a car. Although, 3:58 that reverse camera is great :)

Nice to see how far you've come! It was a little ugly back then but it still looked better than the rest! Tesla is 2nd to none!

As a rule of thumb I need at least a second generation to come out and more reviews but they got me, damn they got me. I want it.

I own one and it's a dream car. Everyone should have one. One of the Tesla Delivery Specialists told me they are working on a $35K model for 2016. So it will be affordable one day soon.

This needs to be an autonomous car. Any driver will be watching youtube on that screen...I want one!

That touchscreen and self driving system should be applied to every cars. Large touchscreen display should be installed on cockpit flight deck of every airplanes and every helicopters.

Dream car

Forget the display, can you get the batteries into something like an airline case with big wheels so you can take it indoors and charge them or swap them out when they no longer take a charge without having to take it to a garage.

Such a magnificent vehicle. I'm seeing more and more Tesla Models S's around the Los Angeles Valley and Santa Monica. It really makes me happy to see Elon's company becoming so successful.

Why Tesla in not using iPad instead this integrated screen ?

This car has won so many endless rewards. It won car of the year 2013 by Motortrend as well. I salute Tesla. It's a shame though, this company will not go viral any time soon. The car industry is still focused on Gas engines, ect. However, in the near-future Tesla will lead the car industry. Think of it, it's 2013 and it has this type of technology, what about years later? It'll be ahead of everyone.

With a 250-300 mile range and quick chargers, I don't think most Tesla owners have to worry about energy issues. Nor are the screens prone to breaking unless you're in a serious accident. It's just a matter of adding a luxury feature probably. Personally, I dislike that much of a touch screen because I feel I have to look at it for longer since I can't feel around for buttons. Currently, I've found I'm far more reliant on the quick buttons on my steering wheel and voice commands.

It looks to me like the year 2015 is already here! I'm sure he's working on a hover conversion kit! "Hover convert your ole roadster"!

In less than 10 years this will be as commonplace and standard in all future cars as air-conditioning and radio is today, but for now Tesla is at the cutting edge.
