THIS IS NOT A TUTORIAL It is more of a daily personal diary, or perhaps a vlog, centered around the building of plastic model ships. Don’t be surprised when I unexpectedly, but usually just momentarily, get into something completely unrelated. I was big into building models years ago. Apparently I’m trying to bring back “the good old days” by building plastic model ships. In this series I’ve already built ---
Trumpeter’s 1/200 scale Bismarck
• The Model Ship - Part 31
Trumpeter’s 1/200 scale HMS Hood
• The Model Ship - Part 519
Trumpeter’s 1/200 scale HMS Rodney
• The Model Ship - Part ...
Trumpeter’s 1/200 scale USS Iowa
• The Model Ship - Part ...
Now I’m building Trumpeter’s 1/48th scale U552 Submarine
• The Model Ship - Part ...
Also in this series I’ve built a very large model ship case that will hold up to five 1/200 scale ships.
• The Model Ship - Part 482
I was thinking of adding the very popular 1/200 scale Yamato to my stash, but later realized that it would likely be too much for me … but we’ll see.
Feel free to learn from my mistakes while I muddle through this.

The way they were packed and able to bang around, I wouldn't expect too much. About anything will work in wood though. Agree with your theory on unions. I belong to four different ones in my early working life because I had to. The last 20 years were in a plant that had been unionize for over 70 and then closed down because of the five different unions in the plant and then sold. I was reopened 35 years ago and is till union free today. Lesson learned. They do a great job of protecting folks that should have been fired. A good example of what they can do to an industry can be seen in Michigan and the loss of auto mfg plants. But, we are happy to have them in Tennessee. Another example is the steel industry and where it has gone. See ya. JimE

One crazy build now I'll tell ya. Some major download over the workings of a U-boat going into your mind. Kudos for having the time for the work. You have a very pleasant work area.

Ron before you finish assembling this module you need to decide on installing the stools and radio operators before you get to the point where you can’t install them later.

Hi Ron just caught up after falling behind over easter. I think this model is coming together quicker than your ships. Looks great

Ron, don’t forget the stools? But even without them it will still look fantastic. Your nearly at the end of this module apply modelling.
