I’m ready to share things with you about my sight loss journey that I never have before. Some things have just been too painful to chat about online so I decided to write them down. This is your guide to turning loss and grief into happiness!! If you are struggling right now, you are not alone and you never will be!
Also, we are so close to my release date on the 28th of March.
Myself and my publisher are hosting a competition for you to win a Canon R50 - the follow up to the G7X, the camera I used when I first started my social media channels! So to be in with a chance to win, preorder my book and head over to the link in my bio
I hope whoever wins this camera finds their voice again with it, just like I did

It had never occurred to me that when a person loses their sight, they also no longer can see their own face. I only thought of it in terms of looking out into the world. But looking into the mirror also goes away. You no longer can see that girl, that woman, who is your best friend, smiling back at you, crying with you, just being there for you. She's still there, but now you have to work to imagine her. I'm so sorry. Lucy, I've always been amazed by your upbeat attitude and enthusiasm in your videos, particularly the shorts. And now that you're able to share the really painful and vulnerable parts of your journey, it does not negate your positivity but only deepens it and makes it that much more meaningful and amazing. It comes from a place of deep hurt, grief, and acceptance of what is and not continually bemoaning what might have been. I wish you didn't have to go down this road, and yet, great blessings have come from it. Ah, yes, the irony of life. You have become a fierce and fearless advocate for others with vision loss, lobbying for changes to improve accessibility and resources. You are an educator for the rest of us, showing us what the world is like for someone without the advantage of sight. And you help us become aware of our sight-ableist actions and language. I'm not trying to lay all of this on your shoulders - you just seem like you have been willing to take on these challenges and lead the way. Where do I go to vote for you - for awards, etc.? 🥰❤️🥇🏆

There’s no set timeline for grief end what things you choose to share or not are both equally important and experiences to be proud of because every experience you’ve had and situation you’ve gone through contributes to the amazing person you are today.

Oof, that hit me. I'm not blind, but I'm chronically ill and disabled. Short of a medical miracle I will never be painfree ever again. I don't even remember what it's like. I've lost a lot and been shamed for it. Even blamed for it, as if I had a say in having an unheard-of reaction to a medication. It sucks.

Is it being released in large print? I've got mac degen and I stopped reading ages ago because it literally gives me a headache, but I'm really hoping that large print will make a difference. I'd really like to read your book, but I'm worried it's going to only be released in small print.

I'd assume it would be an audio book but hopefully she does a large print version for people who need it too (so hard to find them these days, have a friend who needs them!)
