The Morning Routine of a local Barred Owl- playing hide and seek with the Crows Crows and a Cooper's Hawk. They finally get bored and go away and she goes to her roosting spot to sleep for the day.

Some great footage Rudy! I'm guessing you really had to work for these clips given the dense foliage and heights involved! Life looks pretty tough as an Owl. I wonder how they ever get any sleep? Thanks for putting the time into editing and sharing these for the community!

Hi Ron, thanks for your encouraging comments, as always. I have such a wonderful time in the forest and especially with a lovely bird like this Owl. I have recently discovered that getting there before sunrise is the best time to go. There's time for my eyes to adust to the dark ambience plus I have time to wander around and hopefully find her down low our on a limb. Yesterday mring I have almost 30 minutes with her before the Crows found her and went totally crazy. She went high into a dense Spruce and never came back down.
