Moral of the story #3 carry a hacksaw and crowbar. And swing your axe at the deadbolt sticking out of the door...stupid. And arrows suck. And learn how to make ammo...you can probably exchange that for just about anything in the post apocalyptic future. Oh, have backup batteries for your flashlights and a charger for your watch. And have more than 1/10 of a canteen of water. Apparently, even people dying of thirst don't get chapped lips in the future.

Question: why didn't he close the door behind him locking the creature out? The vents were mostly rusted and the whole thing was loose. Great Idea leaving the monster to the viewers' imagination. Ending was a little off -- just with them looking at each other -- I was waiting for the monster to pull him down.

Eriti hästi läks peale too flashback kus Sherman oli kose juures. Kahju küll, et kõik nii lühikeseks jäi. Kindlasti tahaks tulevikus näha täispikka filmi mis võtab aset samas universumis.

At first I was very skeptical about the movie, looking at the contentious things that they had done on their youtube. It does not sound bad. But the impression was that you would not be able to really make such a serious movie. Now after viewing, I'm glad I was wrong. There were a lot of scenes in the film that stretched the horns upright. The music selection was very good. The most favorite places were those where flashbacks arose when listening to this diary. Sherman was particularly impressive when it came to flashback. Unfortunately, everything was so short. Definitely would like to see a full-length movie in the future that takes place in the same universe. English just in case

That was stunning. I can't say enough good things about this movie. Absolutely everything was well executed. The story and tone were perfect. The tension, fear, hope, and message were in harmony. The truth was spot on. The sense of death in the dead man was palpable. Even the flashlight was elevated almost to the status of a character. I didn't really need to see the actor's wiener, but okay, whatever. I get why that seemed appropriate. Well done, folks.

Really great short film, though I want to give some criticism as well. The music was too loud at some parts and I couldn't hear the dialogue and I had to control the volume all the time but that was it, everything else was great, loved the camera shots and the scenery was stunningly beautiful, just as the title says. I loved the choice of music and acting was done really well. Can't finish this review without mentioning the story. I really fell in love with this story and felt as if I was stuck in the bunker. Ending was also thrilling, because you left just enough room for the viewer to think their own ending. Definitely the best short film, I've ever seen (Y) Good job ;)

***** Thank you! Just so you know: The music wasn't "chosen", but was composed by a fellow KZfaq musician named Ross Bugden ;) I have no idea why the music volumes were off on your end, the sound was produced by a top notch, professional sound production company in Estonia named Film Audio. It has been great everywhere so far. The music has been designed to sort of take over the dialogue in some parts, maybe that's what you mean.

Very scary movie when that kid got trapped in that ancient tunnel. Really good writing and great ideas, who wrote the script? Amazing he ran into a boy who had just died before he got there; and that he read his diary and found a possible way to get out. I assume the girl helped him get out. Lucky him.

The unseen creature was frightening, of course but the most terrifying creature was the inescapable labyrinth and its dank, trash-strewn chambers, almost a living thing itself. Finding the corpse and expanding the back-story through his diary and the protagonists pleasant dreams as a result was a great effect and lent the story a melancholy and, ultimately, tragic twist...I wonder if he ever got out or if the girl abandoned him, which, under the dire circumstances, would have been her best decision.

Nice combination of elements; the bow and arrow, the wrist worn device (Nice effects), the notebook message, and the overall plot. I did find it a bit hard to see due to the darkness of the interior and I agree, I admittedly would like to have seen the girl help him get out, just to know she didn't leave him to die or try to kill him.

Hi Einar, that was a cracking short film. Ticks all the boxes for me. A colleague and I are currently writing our first short film together and we've been scouring KZfaq for about a month. Everyday, sending each other links, commenting on what we would do differently, trying to learn what makes a good film work and what doesn't and not finding anything that really carries itself well from start to finish. The Most Beautiful Day stands apart. Not much i would've changed personally. Well done, I hope you are all extremely proud of what you have accomplished. Would love to chat to you more about it. Sai.

Hi Sai, thank you so much. What I learned from making this was how important story is, which I feel is the weakest part of this film because when I started making it, I was concentrating more on my vision, rather than telling a good story. But then again, for each their own - some people like this kind of visual experience that leaves alot to guess for the viewer. I was very proud of the outcome and hope others were aswell. But it's been a long time and I have put it past me, all I can think about now is what my next film will be and try to work on that. Would love to chat Sai, you can add me on Facebook (just search my name) or on Skype (same thing). Peace!

I realized that I haven't commented here, although I was pretty certain that I clicked on that "post" button... I feel bad for it, since I contributed to this film as a vocalist... Ahem, anywho! This movie was such a thrill to watch. From amazing special effects to fantastic acting, from breathtaking shots to heartfelt story... I absolutely enjoyed this!! Seriously Einar, this was beautiful to watch! Also, Ross Bugden really outdid himself here. It's not easy to score for a movie and for a first, he really did an amazing job. I still listen to his music from time to time. To everyone involved in the making of this movie... Seriously, great job and congratulations! :D

Jayhan Thank you so much! I worship your voice. Every time I play the music to someone or show the film, I wait for that cue where your vocals come in and just enjoy the emotional rollercoaster the viewer/listener is most probably having :D I truly feel spoiled from you lending us your voice! Until next time?

Aww, thanks, Einar! It was a small role I had, but without Ross' input, I don't think my delivery would've been as powerful! Hahaha, should you ever need me, I'd definitely be up for it! ;D It's been such a thrill, after all. ;) Until then, take care, a'ight? ;D

I stumbled uppon Ross Bugden's channel a while back and listened to some of the musics used in the film's soundtrack (which is absolutely fenomenal in my opinion) which got me here. I clicked the annotation to the film just to check it out and, honestly, I wasn't expecting it would be nearly as good as it was. The filming, the acting, the soundtrack (again, great choice of music), the ambience, everything, gave this apparently generic apocalyptic scenario, an unique feel. If have to complain about something it would be the dreams, which, for me, felt a little out of place. Again, great work and I hope you keep it up :) (I'm sorry for any mistakes, English is not my first language)

This was beautiful. From the opening shot to when it faded to black, I was on the edge of my seat. The cinematography was just breath taking.
