I live in Canada and discovered there is a Canadian seller fir the Shapeoko XXL. So I pulled the trigger and ordered it today. I was going to order a V-Carve until I watched your videos. Thanks for your comparisons.

Thanks Ben! A bit basic for me, but the "Losing Connection" tips made it more than worth while. Definitely earned a 👍. Did not know about the USB Sleep, and didn't think about static electricity from the vacuum.

Proprietary files are a PITA and lead to people going with other options. Better off IMO to go with standard motion programs that load files from any design CAD program. Hopefully the makers of Carbide Motion will learn that and make it so that standard files can be used with it.

Good video for beginners. The Carbide Create is changing very fast and some functions like the tool library have changed function and location as well as how to edit them. I have your spoilboard and fence design as well as the cam clamps. I like your design and highly recommend using your design. Keep up the good work. I also subscribe to your youtube channel. In your workshop tour video you mentioned that you have stopped making your colored pencil bowls due to health reasons. Perhaps a good video on Shapeoko dust collection and safety with the CNC would be a good subject for a future video. Thanks

Thanks for the video. The problem I have is not that the plunge loses depth, but that it seems to not pull back far enough and eventually starts machining the waste board. It's actually got a lot worse since fitting the Dust Boot. All belts seem tight enough.

I had static build up without a vac from surfacing the wasteboard. I actually had to ground the router and frame

Hi, watched a bunch of your videos before I purchased the shapeoko 3 xxl ( much appreciate your videos also ) and have been using carbide create but seems very limited and im not getting accurate passes all the time. Is there a software out there that is better for cutting v grove letters and making small signs ? i looked at v carve pro but yah price is a concern for my pocket alltho looks very nice. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. forgot to ask also is there a good forums out there for the shapeoko thats worth the time ? Thanks Again

We love your videos, thank you so much. We recently purchased our first CNC, and the biggest thing we're struggling with is speeds and plunge ratesfir different bits. We've read so much online, but its very confusing. Any help you could give to simplify this for beginners would be great 🙂

I currently run a next wave piranha, I have vcarve pro, love the machine but need bigger working surface, not wanting to spend the 5000 I was looking at the shapeoko pro, will this machine work with vcarve pro and do 3d cuts like me next wave? Thanks for the help.

DO NOT get a shapeoko. I now use a www.onefinitycnc.com WAY better in every way at the same price point. it can do 3d cuts that will blow your mind. check out my topographical map of alaska video i did!

Thank you very much for your explanations I hope you can give an Explanation on why just doing a simple circle that my bit will not stay level and leave a raised spot, or not follow the circle,I have tried different size circles and squares with the same results, changed bits, sorry shapeoko xxl in carbide create, thank you if you can help

@@MyersWoodshop thank you for responding but it makes the same mistake over and over in the same spot so it is not the belts or the tram, I can move the program over to the other side of the board and it still makes the same mistakes in the same spots so I cannot see how it could possibly be the belts

I fixed my connection loss issues by getting a usb isolator and use the antistatic hose from rockler for vacuum.

Just got my Shapeoko last week and have already realized that some form of dust management will be essential. Also, any idea how high the risk of flying broken bit projectiles is? I'm always wearing eye protection, but do broken bits come flying out like shrapnel?

They certainly can! also the Suck It Dust Boot is excellent, I think Ben did a video on them, there are lots of videos at any rate. Highly recommend them. They would probably block broken bits.

I just put my shapeoko xl z plus together Get to initialize machine, router moves 8" to left, then throws error about homing and couldn't locate limit switch Any thoughts

If I understand what they are talking about on FB, the new machines that ship starting next week will Have the new screw drive over the belt for the Z.? I am hoping to buy my first one this coming month, glad I waitied since it sounds like the screw will be better so you dont get the belt skip on the plunge? I dont know, I have a ton to learn, thanks for this video sir and have a blessed week. Dale

I think the screw drive will be an add on, not standard. Screw Is def better than belts
