For QJJ9ss, minute 13-14, should'n' you check you hand for a lower effective stack, given the opponents at the tables?

maybe its a factor of the tree i ran (3 blinds+ante), but limping is a very prominent strategy there. might not seeing limping be a viable preflop strat be based on whether its antes or not? (i see you switched to mtt trees and found limping to be a very viable soln. i do see btn limp ~50% in this cash tree and btn rfi ~18% too fwiw, numbers look quite similar)

Bro!!! I bought your book Mastering Small Stakes Pot Limit Omaha, it's AWESOME!!! I've only studied the first 3 chapters so far on preflop, but it's COMPLETELY turned my game around!!!! I just cracked a $1,000 bankroll in 23 days, starting with $54. Although I do also play NLHE sng and mtt, most of my run up is from PLO cash game. I've won 3 of the largest pots ever for me online in the last several days. Amazing insights!!! I've totally tightened up my preflop game, although I still make money on some trashier hands, in position, but now I really know what I'm getting into before I do it, and it makes post flop decisions and strategy much easier with those hands.

Thanks for the very good quality free content JNandez! I don't understand at 2:37 how we move from KJ88 ds to KJJ6 ds in the hands ranking. What happens to K10106 ds or K995 ds for example...are these hands worst than KJ88 ds and should be folded from that position?
@yllwmtrcstr
@yllwmtrcstr 3 жыл бұрын
Around 14:30 you have AQJ9 d's and you talk about what ds A high hands you should 4b. It makes total sense that you want to use hands that don't block KK and QQ like A987ds but what happens if you get 5b are you folding or seeing a flop because of flush and straight possibilities?

I don't play rainbow hands in general unless it's aces or kings or maybe something like QJT9 but I am wondering whether this is the right approach to take? What types of rainbow hands should be played as an open raise?
@OGRE_HATES_NERDS
@OGRE_HATES_NERDS Жыл бұрын
if you have a pure rundown or close , you can open raise even if its rainbowed because you will sometimes flop the nuts and you will very often flop a 25-60% draw to the nuts.

If you are playing in a home game with no rake and your opponents are frequently limping and rarely 3-betting and almost never 3-bet bluffing, does it make sense to open-limp and over-limp very wide? I'd love to know how wide you can profitably open limp in a game like this. Any thoughts?
@JNandezPoker
@JNandezPoker 2 жыл бұрын
If its going multiway to the flop you want to have better cards than your opponents. You can limp some weak single component hands like disconnected suited Ace or weak QQ-KK. Otherwise raise a strong range myself given you aren't getting 3-bet anyway, you start building a pot and they call with worse hands. You stack them postflop. That's how to win those games, don't play loose and become the dominated one. If it's going to be a heads up pot you can play wider assuming they are also weak postflop, sure.

awesome video as always fernando.. since u are currently playin at gg network i would like to discuss some "subjects" to beggin with i grind the rush and cash games (plo) at micro stakes at ggpoker.. and i dont know if its my idea or the rng system there needs some "fixing" cause over the last month the downswing was pretty much huge.. most of the times i am able to put my money in while i am ahead preflop/postflop . and i dont know if i am doing something bad or maybe i just dont know this game properly.. but i find myself in impossible spots with opponents that got absolutely 0 logic but still they beat me (or they just suckout) and to be honest i havent seen noone talking about the "turn" card . i mean how the f.. its possible that turn card gives always outs to everyone.. i dont want to say it smells rigged cause i believe in order to say something u must be sure of it.. but come on i have seen your videos your bad beats are lets say "in normal frequency" and my lets say 65 to 80% equity are just awful.. it come to a point u got set aces and nut flush draw. and u whisper please not the gutter again.. anyway if there wasnt any promotion or leaderboard it would be just impossible to play there ! Thats all thanks for the effort you put to make game better ! Respect

So if I am only playing on Micro Stakes, should I join the PLO trainer after I have gained enough money to play in the middle stakes or low stakes? Thank you for all the great videos, I am learning from your videos and win some in Omaha in +EV. My Holdem is still so bad that I am in -EV. P.S. I am a newbie of Omaha and Holdem, played for around 2 weeks only.

PLO Trainer also offers ranges for lower stakes games. I was just using the PLO 500 rake structures as an example. If you want o improve your Preflop game fast for PLO, I would recommend to use PLO Trainer straight away. No reason to play a less than optimal strategy at lower stakes and slow down your progress.

For live cash plo with time rake should we basically be approaching it more like tourny ranges? Implement more limps etc? I play at a texas card house in Dallas $1/2 w/ $5 bring in. $200-$1000 able to match the big stack. It's pretty easy to be playing with $1000-$5000 stacks with a few players. Generally I buy in for $200 and find spots to stack off and if the game is good I'll play deeper. I tend to iso raise mostly since I mainly play NLH.
@bobiradkovich7322

I think you're commenting under the wrong video. Omaha has very little to do with NLH and if you want to be serious about either, you should stay away from the other.
@zacharybaker5645

@@bobiradkovich7322 I would have to disagree entirely. Live poker is so soft it doesn't make a difference. You should learn the fundamentals of all the games available in your local spots so you can play in the best games. Game selection is the number one money maker in my opinion.

Limping has it's place in live games. Especially if you're either playing with time rake or 8 handed. That being said, in tournies I would often raise less than pot pre, becaues of the shallow stack sizes. I wouldn't recommend that when your playing cash deep. Just raise full pot.

Just remember that short stacking in live PLO you'll at best have 33% equity versus the field. Live PLO is soo much different compared to multi-tabling 6-max online.

I'm not a fan of the subscription based service either. I'd much rather buy it outright. If you're playing higher limits, it's easier to justify the cost but when you're playing micro limits - like below PLO50 - it's a lot harder to do.
