This likely won’t be in LoVM, same with the Gilmore stabbing Vax scene, since Hotis was made more of a passing joke rather than an actual threat.

@internettevarolanadam I feel like that would be a writing mistake as those who haven't seen the campaign or don't know the first season by heart, won't know what is going on or why it's happening. If they wanted to bring that scene in, they should've either made Hotis more prominent or they'll have to change it from Hotis to another threat.

I'm not well versed in D&D. I understand they didn't have Pike so they couldn't perform a resurrection ritual, but did nobody have a way to revivify? Could they not have continued to adventure through the hells in search of another way to leave? I get that Keyleth is the way they got in, I just don't understand why it seems she is the only way out.

The only hope they would have had is if Taryon had a revivify coin or something on him. They weren't getting out of that prison any other way than through Keyleth.

It's not only that they were in hell, but they were in the midst of a high security hell prison where the wardens and guards etc were all chasing after them, without a way to just exit or hide. Basically, it's a big chase scene in an enclosed space that they needed to escape from ASAP and the only way they had of doing that in this situation was Keyleth's planeshift. Thus, dead Keyleth equals entire party with nowhere to run while having an endless stream of powerful enemies trying to kill them. It'd basically be a guaranteed TPK considering just how dangerous the place and circumstances are 😅 And indeed I'm pretty sure the only ways they'd have of revivifying at this part of the adventure would be either Pike, or perhaps a coin from Taryon, but they had access to neither.
