Squishcraft Part 1 - the most deranged part is... it's somehow good. Past the insanity, you get a genuinely unique set of puzzle mechanics that squish together wonderfully. Coupled with some insanely hard puzzles (this video did not do it justice), and you have a puzzle lover's dream. Huh.

i will say, having seen all off this game, the visuals are kinda necessarily linked to the gameplay. if they were more refined a lot of the stuff would be really hard to explain as easily as it is.

well I think the only possible way to make this have nice visuals is you have either procedural sprite or vector graphics, which is harder to implement than simple raster image-squishing. This may not look as good with well-made artstyle, so might as well commit :^)

I make games for fun, but one of the things I don't like is making art. I usually will just use whatever image I see first on my computer as a placeholder since I don't want to stop my momentum by trying to make art. This game looks like what my games look like before I remove the placeholders. I like it.

fun fact: the reason the graphics are like this is because it had to be, if it used abstract graphics (like in most games) you cannot tell whether a block is a single block or 2 squished blocks

This feels like the game where it gets to the point where a level takes 2-4 hours and requires you to squish 7 into 5, 2 into 1, 3 into 2, and then 3 into 1 just to get past a part of the puzzle. Great concept.

SquishCraft's graphics and mechanics (except the moving blocks, lasers and spikes of course) are HYSTERICAL, but somehow the puzzles are genius at the same time.

For the puzzle at 9:00 you probably could have pushed the mirrors against the right wall, put them above the laser, then push the laser down.

I have a full playthrough on the game and there's a walkthrough by someone else, the walkthrough (where the player knows all the solutions) is like 45 minutes, mine took like 7 episodes about 30 minutes each or something

I’m assuming Tyler went to a set of laser levels by pushing the laser into the portal that were harder then the levels he was supposed to play were (which is why he couldn’t do the challenge levels at all)
