Day one at Rainbow High! What did you think of the first episode? Any theories of whats to come?! Personally, I think Bella will get sick, and that's why she's not at the fashion show, Amaya is just running late or the A's are stalling her to mess with the other girls performance.

Story, story... MGA animated series barely have stories. They're just valleygirl anecdotes with no meaningful start or end! Let me know when two of the girls start confessing to each other, or at least when a decent ship comes around, and then I 'might' be interested. I'm still going to keep up with it obviously, but I found it pretty mediocre.

Is it greedy to maybe ask for a rainbow high doll that has a "poor" background. Her clothing could be more about like upcycling or be more vintage and you know that would be her whole thing, and how she can't afford the nice new stuff but she still has enough art credentials and style and whatever else to be inside the prestigious school

Wow, I like your thinking. Due to the fact that in the animated series, the school background looks rich ,prestigious and a lot of cartoons are not like that. So I love your idea.

Farrah(named after the 70's icon): Yeah...but it didn't start out all picture perfect...specifically for...me. Violet: I know, but your a exception. Farrah : what do you mean "exception"? I worked hard, not got lucky. So this is just a idea, I chose Farrah, because that is a vintage name and named after a 1970's icon. If you have ideas message me back.

As someone who has taken animated classes and is just really into animation in general I thought I was the only one that looked at this and thought that they did not look good. the quality is not the standard for something that's made in 2020 or maybe I'm just picking. Lol it's geared for kids I might just be looking too hard

Zoë Jenkins while i do agree with you,even kids animated content should have good quality to be memorable Kids should not be an excuse to lower the quality or be lazy about a show in my opinion.Atleast the story is interesting i guess

Zoë Jenkins yeah I didn’t really love the actual animation but the story was quite interesting but those mouths thoo I felt like they looked so out of place or was it just me? Like the rest of them was so big and enlarged but the mouth looked quite realistic

Really not feeling the animation for this one- this might sound weird, but I'm finding the design of the show weirdly off- for such a colorful cast, the colors are muted to me? Like there's a subtle grey/cool filter on everything. The environments are also strangely empty and devoid of character (so different from say, Monster High for example- the neons, the coffin shaped lockers, the brightness, the very distinct LOOK it had). I'm super willing to give them time to step up a little design-wise, but I'm definitely not big on how it look right now, which is a shame- the dolls themselevs are gorgeous and I love the box art!

Yes! was it like moving day or something? why were there only the main characters there and no background characters or background noise? It's the little things like that that can fill the emptiness of the show

When I saw Bella, I got super excited! "A pink character! Yay!" I like the looks of the popular kids. However, I feel like the show is trying a tad too hard to be "hip", I feel like they should dial it down a little. Also, did anybody catch the principal saying "Moxie"? This could possibly be a nod to the line "Moxie Girlz" which came out shortly after Bratz was pulled off the shelves thanks to the Mattel MGA lawsuit.

The one thing that got me excited was Ainsley's name. my name is super close and growing up never saw it in Pop culture or media, so just seeing her name makes me happy.

I'm kinda shocked at the 1st episode, for some reason I REALLY thought it was entertaining. There was some actually GOOD drama that might lead into some character development, and some cliff hangers, Bella robbed from her spotlight, she better stay.

How about the the boy in the show we need more boy dolls cause as a kid ken wasn’t it but when the boy bratz came out I remembered not being the only little boy in class that had a bratz boy

There's rumors that the first boy doll will be released soon 👀 and he's not the same color as Aiden from the show, so that means potentially 2 new boy dolls by next year!!

Yes! As an animator myself, sailor moon obsessed, and yellow being one of my favorite colors, I can relate so much to Sunny, I’ve also been in her position. My mom also got me the Sunny Doll for Christmas, saying she thought I’d like her best.

There’s something about the animation that makes the characters look... uncanny (if that’s the right word). I don’t know if it’s the lips, big eyes or what but overall I like the series. The animation is something I can kinda get by, just as long as it gets a better in the future.

Yeah, the mouths are too detailed and it lands them right in the Uncanny Valley. 😬 Plus the lips don't move correctly for some of the syllables, which doesn't help.

I think it's a combination of the lips that look fairly more "realistic" than other CG webseries do them (especially since they add the detail of teeth), and the overly detailed eyes shines. Both the lips and eyes seem to catch light and texture that more "real" features do, why the rest is very much on the opposite end.

It seems like the animation was trying to lean more realistic with its colors and textures (seriously WHAT is up with the teeth) but you'd think that a show about personified colors of the rainbow would be a little more colorful?? I want the saturation on Sunny's hair turned UP

yea i don’t see a lot of 3D renders with good looking detailed teeth :/ idk what’s up with sunny’s hair it kinda looks.... like uh yellow snow idk the hue is slightly off I think

Naturally! In animation/cartoons/comics it's a common practice to only show individual teeth when trying to make a character more scary.

I love these dolls have their own series, but I really don't like the animation. It looks a bit to clean and empty. Like they didn't have enough money to add anything besides the characters

so I had some questions from the live stream that never got answered 1. What did you expect from the MH/EAH crossover 2. What did you want most from the MH/EAH crossover 3. Which character were you most looking forward too seeing?

Oooh these are really good questions!! So, based on the concept I wasn't keen on the plot they were developing so I wasn't expecting much but I REALLY wanted the crossover so I was excited regardless. What I wanted most from it was continuity - so at least the ghouls saying "Hi" to Cupid, and Astranova telling the ghouls about EAH, maybe they'd stumble upon The Evil Queen's mirror as they did in 13 wishes, as opposed to the reference relying solely on Euna (also a Clawdeen/Cerise scene cus...!!!!) I was most excited to see all the EAH characters rendered in CGI, but Euna looked really cool so I would've loved to have seen her fully realized. How about you? What excited you most about the crossover?

I am super in love with the series already just from this one episode. You’re right it’s really interesting to see a more exclusive drama version of a high school series instead of everyone just being friends. I felt so bad for Sunny but I also understand violet trying to make new friends. I admit I was a bit upset with her the first time I watched it but I don’t think she wanted to be mean to Sunny. Overall I’m really excited for the series and for new dolls! Thank you for doing a reaction it kind of made it feel like we are all watching this together!

Right?! Thank you for watching!! Reading your comments made me feel the same, and we share a lot of the same views on the first ep. I agree, I don't think Violet was trying to be mean, maybe moreso dishonest which is disloyal to her friendship, I'm wondering if Violet & Sunny will get into a fight and Violet will slip up by mentioning that she intentionally chose a room away from Sunny - or Sunny will overhear her 👀 Only time will tell!

Yeah, plus the lips don't quite move correctly on some syllable. Like, if the voices were actually coming out of those mouths, they wouldn't be nearly that articulate.

I found it super creepy. they put cartoon level reactions on models that are too close to human to be emoting that extremely so it put them in the uncanny valley.... yikes. make them realistic or make them cartoony but you can’t really have both. I agree I like the animation in the LOL videos better. I also think it’s weird looking because some parts of the show are super detailed and others aren’t and that contrast stands out and looks amateur.

They should make a Rainbow highschool playset along with a dorm set for the dolls that come with doll stands too, that would be really neat! They could also put them at reasonable prices for their quality and other stuff.

Okay first I want say Clawdeena your makeup is gorgeous 😁 Second, you are the reason I have my rainbow high dolls now, it was I believe your fist video on rainbow high we’re you were showcasing Poppy. Now I had never heard of rainbow high or seen anything about it before then, but when your video randomly came up on my feed I saw you and I saw the doll in the thumbnail and I was instantly hooked, now I watch all videos RH related and follow their instagram😂 Now I have the core 6 plus Avery, I’ll see if they ever sell Amaya on her own, cause I don’t want all the hair stuff, I don’t plan to put that stuff in her hair, and let me tell you something, I’m in Canada, so they ain’t cheap😂 I just consider them a birthday present to myself 🤣 But I just wanted to thank you for introducing them to me, now with these dolls I might even go on to collecting others... or maybe just the rest of the line when they come out🤣

Yessss!! I hear you, it's kind of jarring how difficult it is to find art schools/schools with art programs in 2020. At least in the U.S. - My school had no funding to arts except for band & art class - when I hear people take "fashion", "photography", "drama" etc. I'm like 👁💧👄💧👁

I loved the webisode so much! I’m happy for another doll series! I do agree with you that the mouths are animated a little weird 😂 I also hope there will be more background people/ extras to liven the place up like in the MH/EAH/MLP episodes. The high school kind of looks empty to me rn and I want it to be alive and full of color. That aside I am super excited for the show! The plot sounds interesting, I love the characters (Jade especially gives me life), and I am very much intrigued and invested now 🤣 ❤️🧡💛💚💙💜
