Hi I’m Rick Shiels, welcome to my channel RickShielsPGAGolf. This KZfaq channel is designed to help you play better golf, also to help you enjoy your golf more!
I specialise in golf club reviews, golf club unboxing, golf club news, golf club head to heads, and all about golf clubs.
I also want to make you play better golf by providing coaching video on all topics about golf, how to fix your slice, fix your hook, help you drive the golf ball longer, hit your irons more pure, hit your irons closer to the hole and help you draw and fade your golf shots.
I will also help you lower your score by chipping better by stopping you duff and thin chips, pitch the ball closer and also create backspin. Also I will provide you help to putt better and hole more putts!
On this channel I also make fun and entertaining golf content based on crazy and sometimes “gimmicky” golf clubs. I like to cut through the marketing hype about products and I like to give you the honest truth about golf equipment.
If you enjoy the channel make sure you hit subscribe and also tap the notification bell so that you are always notified when I release a new video.

Congrats on breaking 75! I was lucky enough play the Old Course three years ago on a 50th birthday golf vacation. I didn’t have a tee time, but decided to try and get in line that morning to try and fill one of the openings. At first, I was going to go out at 4:00a, but during our visit to The Open at Carnoustie, I kept hearing how many players were going that early and unable to get on. So at dinner the evening before, I told my wife I was just going to spend the night at the starter house. I got her settled at our hotel a couple blocks away and walked over to the course, arriving at 10:20p expecting to be the first in line for this epic memory. I was #6 in line! A father and son from Atlanta had been there since 7:30p. But the great news is about 15 of us got to play that next day, filling out the threesomes on the tee sheet. What an experience! My caddie - Ian - was truly responsible for about 8-10 strokes that day! I ended with 13 pars and 5 bogeys for a respectable and memorable 77. Hoping to return again (with a tee time) for my 55th in a couple years!

My brother and I treated my dad to a Scottish golf trip some 7 years ago. Started off great when we landed and heard that we'd got through the lottery for the Old Course. Playing it was absolutely incredible (and I broke 75 :)). I'll never play tennis on centre court at Wimbledon, nor play football at Camp Nou, but I can play the same course as the golfing greats. @@goutfromfriedokra7099 It's a natural terrain links course. If it looks easy because you don't see trees, realize it's not, because the lack of trees means the wind is DIABOLICAL. If you went out there that day you would have easily shot 100+ as would I due to the wind alone. Rick has a far greater understanding than the average peon of how to play. That's why it looked relatively easy. I've seen all time greats totally stink it up on that course on a windy day. And most days, it's windy.

it seems like rick is playing his best golf in years, id love to see a verses with Pete finch now! Last few times it didnt really seem like rick was competitive, because Pete had been playing all the time, while rick had just been hitting at the range and testing out clubs on a few holes at a time. So his actual course game was rusty. It would be great to see them play again one of these days.

I absolutely love the Old Course. I've played it ten times, trying to get over there every year during my Spring break. I think I have the distinction of being one of the few to be the only person to finish 18 in a given day when the Old was open for play. The weather was horrendous and group after group walked in (including the entire Penn State Golf Management program, who was playing that day.) One of the marshals informed me of that the next day when I was playing the New Course. And NEVER leave your food by itself on the 10th tee. :) Thanks for taking the time to take us around the Old. Arguably the greatest course in golf. Certainly the most historic.

I've watched every episode of this series so far, it seems that you have at minimum a 2 putt average. You keep talking about your short game being the issue, which is giving you 1 or 2 fluffs a round, but it seems that you are ignoring your putting.
@Pulse2AM
@Pulse2AM 2 жыл бұрын
I've mentioned it a few times on the channel, he misses low on his putting a lot more than not, 17 as a prime example. He'd be level or under with some short game practice because he strikes the ball great mostly.
@stormemartin4331
@stormemartin4331 2 жыл бұрын
Gotta factor in that his short game is leaving him with a lot longer of putting opportunities, if he improved his short game it would reduce his proximity to the hole and in turn his putts per round 👍🏼
