Knowing a low budget compund nuke could take out mereum made it feel a lot less troublesome to see him revived just knowing in a sense humanity has already won over the ants

I just finished watching Hunter X Hunter Anime. I will be missing this anime will shift to Manga soon

I love how each royal guard represents and cares for the King in their own way and we can see these in the episode the King asks to know his name. There Youpi who protects the King body and safety as a shield is not smart and says he can't come up with an answer for a name for the King. Pouf who cares about the King future and what he represents as the top supreme being to rule over all, says the King has no name and is only King. Pouf cares a lot about the ant side of the King, created to rule over everything and everyone. Pitou cares about the King feelings and when asked say it would be best if the King chooses a name that pleases him. Because even with some of the changes the King passed so far Pitou cares for his well being and emotions most - even if the changes means his kinda turning more human like (notice when Netero talks with him he says the King is stuck between Ant and Human). We also can noticed this while the King is getting more and more irritated by losing to Komugi, since interacting with her has made him become more humans and care about human like things, like feeling ashamed of a petty tactic and removing his arm, asking and remembering Komugi's name, wanting to know his own name, wanting to know what he was born for, etc. Pouf realizes this and how dangerous the girl is since she is changing the King and this deviates him from his path of domination. And there is a scene where the guards talk about the King being irritated and how he has changed because of the girl and we see that Pitou is mostly neutral just mentioning the change on the King and Youpi is like if she becomes trouble we just kill her. While Pouf had already thought of even trying to kill her but his devotion and loyalty stopped him because even though he knows the girl is affecting the King and changing him killing her would leave a stained lost forever in the King. Theses differences on each of them is really well played in the invasion and how things happens and how they take action considering the situation and information they have, which is also something Palm will eventually realize and point out as well so I will keep from saying more here for now. Love how those things represent and show their undying loyalty and devotion to the King as well with each of the Royal Guard being very unique, really good stuff in Hunter x Hunter

All 3 king's guards are so interesting, I think they all want to serve him but in a way that makes sense to themselves. Pitou is my favorite because they are the one most aligned with Meruem as an individual, acknowledging & accepting the importance of Komugi so Meruem can be Meruem, not just "the King" which is only a title.

It's not that Shaia doesn't understand the kings feelings, it's that he understands the kings feelings the MOST. His relationship with Nen is all about emotion and how he perceives and manipulates it, given that he barely has a physical body. It's because he's so emotional, that he's not focusing on the kings goals/ambitions at all. Komugi is something that causes conflict to the kings emotions, and thus must be destroyed. No one should make the king question his strength or be humbled. He's the pinnacle of all. Komugi is the worst human for committing this sin. They all serve the king using their nen in the only way they know how to, that's just how he fights

Hunter 128 is the most creepy animation ep I've ever seen.

A little clarification on the "After-Death-Nen", as far as we know, it only works if someone holds a very deep grudge which is why it doesn't happen with Netero since he never hated Meruem

Pouf only thinks of the best for the King as the head of the ants, not for the King himself. Ants originally did not have the concept of individuality as humans do at all, which was pointed out in the previous chapter. Having interacted with Komugi, which affected his human side(, which is the reason why he wanted to know his name in the first place) , Meruem, the King, is kind of oscillating between ant's side (collectivistic side) and human's side (individualistic side) within himself, which Netero saw. So yeah, it could be said that Pouf thinks of the best for the King in one sense but not in another sense.

Shia wants the king to be the supreme ant king and not waver into human qualities. That is the king that he is loyal to not the thing that Meruem is turning into.

I do not agree that Netero's death was of no use, because while it is true that the king became strong because of this, it is also true that Youpi and Pouff were weakened to the point that a simple human could kill them.

If you remember when Meruem asks the Royal Guard about his name and they gave different answer, it foreshadow their personality. Youpi can't answer since he's still growing and trying to understand himself. Pouf answer that Meruem is the true King, since Pouf loyal to the concept of the King itself. Pitou answer for Meruem to choose his own name, as Pitou consider his feelings and loyal to Meruem as an individual. This is also the episode where you should wear headphone to the max for immersion!

Look at it this way Pouf is more concerned about what the King needs(according to him) then what the King wants, he thinks that the best way for him to serve the King is to give him what he needs even if he will be executed for it since in the long run it will be better for the King

Regarding residual nen, I think Netero will not have that kind of effect to whomever as Netero's nen is created with Gratitude. Residual nen only is dangerous if the individual has a strong hatred directed to a specific individual.

I mean … I GET why the royal guards are ecstatic. Their king is their mission and being allowed to save his life is the highest blessing for them. They fullfill their purpose. They are animals after all. But it’s still weird to listen to, even if you understand the psychological part behind it

I think Ange is pretty much right about Pouf. He is very loyal to the King, all Royal Gaurds are without ranking. Poufs action will benefit the King as THE KING, not as Meruem. Just like Pitou is basically a nurse to the king, youpi is his muscles, Pouf is like a minister or adviser, he is neither really strong nor has abbilties helpful in anyform but manipulation; His only sense as a being is helping the King stay on the "right" path.

These moments are part of the gatekeepers to this arc being great 😂 luckily it has other moments that try to carry it

he did get alot of power but it was over for the hunters if pouf and youpi remained at full power. youpi himself had evolved insanely already, and none of the hunters can even deal damage to him since his aura was already like 800,000 mind you gons jajanken full power (when he’s training with knuckle) has like 60k aura, then after he arrives at NGL his jajanken is like 90k and that was gonna kill morel who knuckle said has a shit load of total nen amount 80k. guys like killua who lack firepower and even heavy hitters like gon would do like literally 0 damage to youpi, and pouf would be a nuisance as well
