So many flogs saying this was undeserved have no clue. This bloke has busted his guts week in week out for the past 8 years. One of the best contested and clearance players this game has seen and led all midfielders for goals this season. Plays the game the right way and is a true professional. Hopefully crippa will captain a premiership in the next few years, he will go down as one of the greats of Carlton. Congrats crippa well deserved mate 👑 💙

That's all well and good but the reality is he should have been suspended. Simple as that. Now because of this, it sets a very bad precedent for years to come and makes a complete mockery of the suspension rule when its comes in ineligibility.

Over my time 34 years following carlton, I followed great players at carlton from kernahan ,ratts, Murphy, Judd of course he was idol growing up. But this bloke crippa. You want to talk about what the carlton footy club is about . It's patty cripps. Last night when he won I was emotional I'm so proud of him. His deserved it. And bring on 2023 , it's heartbreak not playing finals but we're going to be up there it's time

Cripps is a real gentleman and a guy kids can be proud of. He has in my opinion, been the most consistent, dominant, hard working player in the last 7 odd years. Deserves to be recognised as one of the immortals of footy, and now he is. Well done. A true champion of the game and a wonderful human being.

Every time I watch this, it brings me to tears. As a Carlton fan, there’s been some tough times for a while but this man has carried the blues and has been one of the main reasons to go watch a Carlton game for the past 10 years. He’s busted his absolute gut for the club and will go down as a legend. I hope one day he is able to hold the premiership cup up for the blues. Love you crippa 💙🫶

Well done cripps, l’m a Carlton fan so l was really hoping you win, from the games l watched l was thinking Neale or Cripps, they’re both guns, Oliver, Brayshaw and Miller, at least for the games l watched, weren’t stand outs like the other two but again, l probably only watched 1 or 2 of their games. Again congrats Crippa!!! Hopefully you can get a premiership soon!!

what a count. it was anyone's medal in the last round. I thought Miller had it. He had 25 disposals and 7 tackles in that last game. Then Neale got the 1 vote and I thought it was all over. The massive pause for the last votes, I knew Patty had it.

Fyfe got wrecked by it a few seasons back, where he had an accidental head knock that rubbed him out, and then Priddis won by a vote (since he got a 2 game suspension).

now it makes total sense why they never suspended Cripps for his hit on Ah Chee. Sure he's a 'champion of the game' but you could see the controversy it would've caused if they did suspend him.. any other player that wasn't in contention for the brownlow would've got suspended any other day.. But kudos to him.

cos it was just being great in the right moment, the chain of 5 disposals in the last 5 minutes can win you a game but it won't win you the Brownlow. Especially if it's a different person stepping up every week.

I know he had a great season, but I don’t understand the 3 votes in a loss. Not just a loss but a final quarter collapse. Just my opinion but Daicos 3 votes, Cerra 2 and either Cripps, Pendles or Maynard 1 vote…votes shouldn’t be just about number of possessions. It’s obviously what you do with them, when you get them and leadership.

Nathan Buckley won a Norm Smith Medal in a losing GF. Players in losing games can be the best on ground, even in a massacre. Look at all the games Gary Ablett dominated when Gold Coast couldn’t win a game. It can and does happen

Cripps performance in round 23 was one of the great individual games from anybody this season, and potentially beyond. He was indisputably the best player on the ground, with clear daylight to the next best. One point does not change that.

Jeremy Cameron finished =8th with 19 votes. Lynch not far behind with 14. Last year Gawn had 19 votes. It is basically impossible for anyone other than a midfielder to win, because umpires see midfielders for 100% of game time, but it's probably more accurate to describe it as the Superstars medal, as it's basically just the most popular/visible players who poll votes, especially when there isn't a clear BOG

Mate, “Fairest and Best”……just contemplate that phrase. Cripps gets reported, suspended by MRO, goes to Tribunal and gets suspended, goes to Appeals Board with “legal team” and gets off. Was anyone “in the know” about the Brownlow status???? Any mention of Carlton and outcomes like this raise suspicions. I’ll be looking forward to abuse from Carlton supporters. Grüße aus Australien.
