Seller maintained the plane was well maintained (mechanically on the engine it was) but not well cared for as you will see. Video 1,525 in the Hit Parade.

Where can you get the ELT placard? My AA-1B only had one on the left side from the factory, never the right. The left is looking about as bad as your subject airplane. Have not seen replacements advertised from the usual suspects.

It’s looks so nice from a distance but when you get up close…. I have LH scupper drain & outer sump leaks on my Cheetah and was shocked that the 100LL die stained my base paint but not the stripes. Tried rubbing compound but no luck. Next step is wet sand and hope it’s not down to the metal.

Actually, try avgas itself quickly followed by a cleaner.

Already tried Avgas with no effect. The paint absorbed the blue dye. It was shot with Imron paint. Was hoping rubbing compound would take enough material off to remove the stain but made very little difference. Maybe 1000 grit wet sanding will do the trick.

Alcohol sometimes works.
