As a note this gambit also works as white against the owen defense: just add in 4.h4 as a waiting move, which will be useful in pretty much all lines, making this version even more dangerous (white is actually just significantly better in all lines).
@ParisDorn1596 ай бұрын
You don't even need to play a waiting move afaik
@eriksteffahn61726 ай бұрын
@@ParisDorn159 So your suggestion is to play Nge2 immediately? That is also an interesting line, but has almost nothing to do with the gambit in the video. My point was that with 4.h4 you can get pretty much the same gambit as with black, but up a tempo (h4 is very useful if they accept the gambit and also decent if they don't).

Ur an inspiration and the source of most of my over the board prep. It astounds me how well some of these gambits perform in classical OTB settings in under 1400. Thank you for everything 😋

This is the first one of your videos that I've seen, and I'm so so impressed with your energy and storytelling. About to get to the Qf3 lines and the suspense is killing me! As a teacher, I'm taking notes.

KZfaq needs more of these "sound gambit" videos. People already eat up gambits like Stafford and Englund which are objectively -2 (engine Eval-wise); they'll love gambits that have 0.0 Eval while down a couple of pawns. You should make a video on the Polerio defense of the fried liver as black, down 2 pawns but winning according to engine.

In the spirit of this channel might I suggest a counter gambit for white here? So we reach the position where white attacks the central pawn with the knight and black advances the pawn to e4 : {1.) b3, e5 2.) Bb2, Knc6 3.) e3, d5 4.) Bb5, Kne7 5.) Knf3, e4} here the knight jumps to g5 the idea being that white wants to plant his Queen on h5 next move so if black plays something like Bd7 or any other move besides kicking the knight white already obtains a monster position not easily defended. For example Qh5 threatens mate you can't defend with Be6 White just takes with the knight exploiting the pin. If you play g6, the knight jumps to h7 and you can't capture the Queen due to Knf6 checkmate. This leaves black with one way to defend and that is Kng6 therefore White's Queen is not so easily moved and White all the while piles on the pressure and sets up more threats. I won't go into these lines here cuz what I'm suggesting is a gambit. Because of the danger posed by the previous I'm assuming black does try to kick the knight with h6. Here you move the Queen to h5 anyway exploiting the pinned rook. If g6 Qh4 and now the rook is attacked by the bishop on b2 and the only way to save the rook is Rg8. From here white plays Knh7 again threatening checkmate on f6. Most likely response from black is Knf5 but regardless of black's choice white plays Knf6 with check winning the rook and because king has only one legal move taking the rook is also a check double check White up an entire rook and with monster initiative. This being the case we'll assume after Qh5 black plays Kng6. {6.) Kng5, h6 7.) Qh5, Kng6} Here white sacrifices the knight with Knxf6!!! {8.) Knxf7, Kxf7 9.) f4, e4xf3 en passant (it's extremely unpleasant and immediately losing if black does not take en passant) 10.) 0-0...} now black is stuck defending the knight on g6 with his king and the pawn is pinned by the rook. Black must defend the knight with either Qd6 or Kne7 (Kne5 loses material) and all of black's pieces are immobilized with nowhere to go. So {10.)0-0, Qd6 11.) Bd3, Kne7 12.) Bd4... If Black's king ever decides to break the pin white can grab the pawn and continue development or grab it with check if allowed and after moves like c4 and Rook a to f1, doubling up, White's attack is just too strong for Black to fend off.

I was thinking Bd4 so as not to block with the knight after c4 but this might be an inaccuracy. Anyhow you can play c4, Knc3 and go ahead and block the bishop knight will move again soon anyway and white should be crushing in this position.

The traps in this gambit look so high probability that a human opponent will fall for them, that it is a new fun one for the opening arsenal. I'm quite sure you will take down some high rated opponents in some of these lines.

I play b3 quite a lot. Interesting line to be aware off. Often white plays Ne2 rather than Nf3 to support the f4 push. That leaves open Ng3 to block the Qg5 threat and doesn't allow the N to be kicked around so easily. So, if anyone plays Ne7 to support the N on c6 I think Ne2 is a lot safer than Nf3.

b3 is a hippo move and a hippo can win games all by itself, so yes a NLA Gambit is very relevant.
